OK, my first attempt at a thread failed through my own fault, let's try again:

Limited duration because longer threads usually taper off. Ending the week beginning 24th of July, final weigh in/measurement Sunday the 30th (additional to the Thursday).

Weigh in or waist measurement Monday and Thursday. (I'm using waist measurement as I don't like weighing myself).

Using a recognised intermittent fasting schedule (e.g. 16/8, 5:2).

Optional exercise where possible, logged in the thread.

Starting tomorrow.

Is anyone up for slimming down in time for August?😀

Hello!

My weight did not move, but my boyfriend is visiting his parents and I am dealing with sick baby who is super needy so I'm eating whatever I can grab from the fridge/cupboard. We also did not go to any of our usual walks, so no exercise apart from a lot of baby carrying and rocking.

Height: 5'1''/156 cm
Starting weight: 60.7kg
29/07: 59.9 kg
03/07: 59.9k
Target: 55 kg (although 57kg at the end of this challenge)

exercise: 4x week 30 minutes run, everyday: Tom Daley's 6 minutes abs & bum; 1 hour walk on days I am not running

Yes!

and . They do work if you do it regularly (I manage mine ~4-5 times/week). There is also something for legs and arms.

Ah was it weigh in day today? Yesterday had a not so good day! Sometimes fasting makes me constipated 😑 so i did not weigh myself but ok if I do this tomorrow morning?

Hm so I've plateaued totally and even gained a pound. This is when I start to give up and lose my enthusiasm! Always around the 2 week mark.
Going to keep focused and push on through. Going to the gym today.

Hi @FrostBeDonePls , if you notice I didn't post for myself for the weigh-in either so don't worry about the delay. Does that work out as a loss for weigh-in 9, then?

I've lost my tape measure again! This is what ended the last thread for me. It sounds funny but it's actually really upsetting, I've long suspected I have ADHD but of course there's now a tsunami of people wanting to be diagnosed, I look like a bandwaggoner.

I'll try and resolve it today somehow, by either buying a new one, giving in and weighing myself or I have been thinking of taking a photo in a certain piece of clothing.

Stay strong! I am also struggling a bit since my daughter is really sick and grumpy, I cannot send her to the nursery, and I have to finish some work requiring concentration(my boyfriend is visiting his family so I am on my own). I feel like I am about to go nuts, but I try to do at least Daley's 6 minute workouts to keep myself sane.

I’ve been doing 16:8 fasting and keto and lost 9.5lbs since 26.06.2023. Really chuffed but feel like absolute crap today- I suspect keto flu. Completely disinterested in food, fluey, not remotely hungry etc. I’ve got 4 stone lose and giving myself until Xmas day so doing keto for a month then easing back into lighter carbs.

I weighed again today because Mondays never seem to reflect my actual weight when I diet, I'm back to 12st 10lbs which is what I was on Thursday. Hoping this Thursday will show a loss- I think weekly weigh ins are probably better for me but I'll keep at it 👍🏻.

Can I request people to stop posting their weights outside of the weigh-in days please?

It doesn't make sense to keep on weighing yourself obsessively every day. The changes you see will fluctuate, that's why the weigh-ins are spaced apart. We all know that. It also encourages eating disorders, which- if you haven't already worked it out (and it should be obvious)- I used to have. That is why I'm not going to take part in encouraging unhealthy eating behaviours. I would just ask Mumsnet to delete the thread.

I agree with @waistchallenge on kot weighing on a daily basis. It fluctuated for me a lot and sometimes it drives me to eat a bit unhealthy that day(if i see a weight gain, i probably go downhill)
To answer your question @waistchallenge that is a weigh loss, I guess i have been consistently losing but slowly. I want fast results so its frustrating but this way is better, I am eating on time and do not eat junk aa much!

Hi all, weigh in 8. Height 5ft 3
16:8 plus tracking on MFP

Stayed the same. Again, I have stuck to plan but have seen no movement. Hopefully, I'll see another drop before Monday. The biggest lesson is not to give up when I don't see immediate results. It's frustrating but 100% better and healthier than gaining.

I have a weekend away in London this weekend, so that's going to be more of a challenge food wise. I hope the extra walking will counteract some of the potential additional calories.

Thread start weight: 15st 5lbs

Current weight: 15st 2.5lbs

Weigh in 2. I'm 9st 10 but have done shockingly badly. I fast some days but others I've found stupid excuses like meetings that go 11-2 so I think I need to eat beforehand. I've also been in a lot of pain and eating in the morning so I can take pills to ease it.

I am back on it properly today though and hopefully will report a proper loss by next week.

Not measuring as such, but looking forward to having more of my wardrobe available to me.

IF 16:8 (eating window 11.30am-7.30pm)
No food restrictions other than having a smaller piece of cake (or whatever) and not automatically going back for more, eating less at mealtimes if I'm not completely hungry... in summary, being a bit more mindful.

Forgot to say exercise: 20-30 minutes pilates every day, 10k steps 3-4 days a week.
