OK, my first attempt at a thread failed through my own fault, let's try again:

Limited duration because longer threads usually taper off. Ending the week beginning 24th of July, final weigh in/measurement Sunday the 30th (additional to the Thursday).

Weigh in or waist measurement Monday and Thursday. (I'm using waist measurement as I don't like weighing myself).

Using a recognised intermittent fasting schedule (e.g. 16/8, 5:2).

Optional exercise where possible, logged in the thread.

Starting tomorrow.

Is anyone up for slimming down in time for August?😀

Which fasting app do you use? I use Zero which is basically a glorified timer and doesn't do that much but having the widget on my home screen seems to help.

Ok, I have done my stats as my starting point. I am 5ft 2in so do not carry my apple shape well!

72.2kg (BMI 28.2)
body fat 33.7%
waist 35in
hips 41in

in the 5 weeks I’d like to lose 3kg, get my body fat below 30 and lose a couple of inches off my waist.

probably going to start 18:6 and try and eat lowish carb.

I've got up and done some core exercises for the first time ever so that's something. Coffee this morning, and I'll weigh myself (dreading this as I weighed last week and I'd put on half a stone in a few weeks!)

Morning all,

Just got up and weighed myself- 12st 13lbs 🙈

When I did the 16:8 during lockdown 2020 I just ate normally in the eating window and lost a fair bit of weight. You can feel when it starts working because you have a different kind of hunger before you're allowed to eat again. You also start to realise when you're in ketosis and become very focused.

I've just done some simple core exercises because I still have a 2 finger gap in my muscles behind my belly button which isn't helping the general overweight look.

I’d like to join please. I’ve been IF for a few weeks now. I don’t weigh myself, but know from various things in my wardrobe how it’s going. Will find a tape measure and measure my waist though. It would be great to have some company to encourage me through the last few weeks of term which are often very sugary!

When I IF I try to be mindful but I still have treats within my eating window.
it works for me because evenings are when I binge eat so I stop eating no later than 5pm and save myself the binge

Morning everyone, this is weigh in number 11 (I'm going to count them down). I like the format of @UpUpUpU 's post, giving to giving height and weight, waist circumference if using, which intermittent fasting schedule you'll use and how you plan to eat in your eating window (low carb/calorie counting etc.), plus exercise and any other goals!

Is there anything else to add?

BTW I find cm helpful for the waist measurement as the increments are smaller.

Here's my first "weigh-in" post (actually measurements):

Height: 171cm
Weight: Not weighing myself (for now) 😬
Waist: 76cm (~30 inches)
IF schedule: 18:6 plus 5:2, copied from @SquirrelFeed. I had been doing 20:4 but it's been causing issues and isn't sustainable for me.
Clothes size: 12

Goals: would like to be a size 10 (eventually, not within 5 weeks!) and lose weight ready for tummy tuck operation. Not aiming for 8 as I have a large build and look underweight as an 8.

I've been doing 16:8 for about 10 days now.

I don't know what weight I was when I started as I'd no scales but did feel I lost before I got some!

I'm finding it fairly easy as long as I distract myself in the mornings. I eat between noon and 8pm sensibly. I do find that I fill up quickly and have stopped snacking!

Just broken fast after 18 hours with scrambled eggs, spinach, feta and avocado plus a coffee with cream.
Will have some Greek yoghurt later then fajitas for tea, I might not have the wrap just the fillings. Not been great with water today.

I'm in too. This is perfect timing as I go on holiday on 25th July so trying to shed a bit of weight before then.

Been doing IF for a long while and it definitely works for me as long as I don't eat everything in sight during my window. I'm focused on a calorie deficit each day 1200 cals in which is manageable for me.

Thank goodness you have "weighed in", @Diddykong , we're still missing about 15+, I was starting to worry it wouldn't get past day 1! 😂

Isn't weight strange? I think I was quite happy at your current weight, but as I say I have large build/shoulders.

I need to do more exercise, too, people keep on mentioning resistance training but I'm still not sure what that entails.

That sounds tasty and high protein @Whydoesnothingwork, especially because I've still got hours to go! I might pick up some cream today (I'm assuming it's single).

Hello, I'd like to join! I've been doing 16/8 for about a month now and lost 3.5kg, but I really want to focus it again as have felt myself slipping over the last couple of weekends and can just see myself sliding back into old habits. So hoping this challenge will keep me on track! Current stats:

Height: 5 ft 7
Weight: 76.5kg // 12st
IF schedule: going to aim for 17/7, eating between 1-8pm and cutting portion size.
Size: 14
Target: 72.5kg // 11st 4lb by 30 July

I do light cardio 2-3x a week, probably not having much effect but all I have time for tbh.

My weight is weird though. I lost 4 stone after dc2 (allergy baby which caused a v restricted diet) and it took me to 8 stone and I looked bloody awful! And as a result I'm not too big but so flabby. I hate my current shape far more than when I was a size 14. But I want to be healthy and get toned.

I weighed in at 10stone 3 days ago but just started my period so something happened with water retention I suspect as it certainly wasn't due to my weekend diet as I binged on cake!

I use the Fastic app, I really like it, it makes it like a game and you win days off when you have a good streak!

My fasting app is called fasting by leap fitness group, the free version does its job.

I'm doing 16:8 but not having brunch until I'm actually hungry which is usually 1pm. So far so good today.
