OK, my first attempt at a thread failed through my own fault, let's try again:

Limited duration because longer threads usually taper off. Ending the week beginning 24th of July, final weigh in/measurement Sunday the 30th (additional to the Thursday).

Weigh in or waist measurement Monday and Thursday. (I'm using waist measurement as I don't like weighing myself).

Using a recognised intermittent fasting schedule (e.g. 16/8, 5:2).

Optional exercise where possible, logged in the thread.

Starting tomorrow.

Is anyone up for slimming down in time for August?😀

You have a good reason for that, though! And 20 pounds is that much in the grand scheme of things.

Morning! Today is weigh-in number 10 (counting down) so please post your staring weight or waist measurement, fasting schedule and how well you've stuck to it so far, exercise taken etc. If you're new follow the format of the first weigh-in that I've just posted, please.

I know some people are annoyed because I said weigh-in was today so let's see who turns up to post. Only a handful of people out of all the ones who said they were in managed the first weigh-in anyway so today will show whether the challenge will carry on or not 🙈🙂

Morning weigh in 10

Start weight:15st 5lbs
Current weight: 15st 4.5lbs

Have been sticking to 16:8 and eating mindfully. Little bit disappointed it's not more of a loss, but I'm reminding myself it's only been 3 days!

Haven't done too much exercise other than waliking/cycling to school, but may try and up this once I've got the eating under control.

Small steps. Must keep going

Here for the weigh in. So twice per week (Thursday & Monday)? I like this as it will hopefully keep me on track over the weekend.

Current weight- 12st 10lbs
Waist- 32.5 inches

Starting weight- 12st 13lbs
Starting waist- 34 inches

Loss- 3lbs and 1.5inches

17:7 plan- trying to eat less carbs but not being too strict. Starting fast by 6pm every night.

Daily 10 minute core workout.

Today 148lb

Doing 16 8, mostly low carb. I'm really liking this. My target is 133lb.
I've had the odd treat in my eating window which will definitely help keep me on track rather than restricting everything.
Also trying to drink lots of water.

Those who drink alcohol- do you eliminate completely for duration of challenge or switch from eg wine to spirits? Have a few weekend events upcoming and wondering what approach to take (16:8 weekdays only?)

I still drink over the weekends and I do love a wine. I've just been thinking about how I'm going to do it this weekend. I think I'll crack open the wine tomorrow at about 4:30 and finish at 6:30, Saturday I'm at a picnic so I'll have a few drinks during the day and aim to start my fast at 7:30 and then Sunday I won't drink.

Todays 140lb target 133lb
IF 16:8 and calorie counting in eating window. I aim for 1800 cals so need to be v active 🤣 18000+ steps and some cardio.
Managed this yesterday! But better get moving today!

It's great reading everyone's posts to motivate

Target: 55 kg (although 57kg at the end of this challenge)

exercise: 4x week 30 minutes run, everyday: Tom Daley's 6 minutes abs & bum; 1 hour walk on days I am not running

I'm so annoyed with myself, I wanted to do a 24 hr fast before the weekend. I ate lunch at 1 and skipped dinner but someone bought me a latte and I felt too bad to say no so i drank it 😫 I know I've broken fast but will the far less calories consumed still have an impact?

My waist measurement is the same! I do feel like I've probably lost a little though. Maybe I finally have to give in to the scales but it's fraught. If I weigh more than expected I might feel down, if it's less I'll wonder why I'm a 12 and don't look better!

low carb, no added sugar, no ultra processed food
Clothes size: 12

hey @waistchallenge thanks for the name check! I had forgotten this is a 2 weekly one! So I can't find my tape measure but I am going to look for it and not go to bed til I have found it and will post my starting waist measurement as I actually think for me that's more motivating. If I weigh myself at this time of the month just before my period it will be way high and I will be gutted and want to comfort eat. I am very premenstrual and the carbs have been calling me today but I did have an eating window of only 6 hours so have fasted well today which I count as a win.
well done with your fasting schedule that looks very good!

.right I'm off to hunt the tape measure will be back in a tick

I've only flipping found it!! ok so not quite what I wanted to see but waist is 34 inches yikes! not gonna bother in cm's as even though easier to see the loss its an even higher number!
