5st to loose, 26 weeks, 1:1 diet

oddwellingtonboots · 13/06/2023 22:10

Hallo everyone,

Jumping on here as I have set a target to loose as much weight as possible before Christmas.

Starting stats
16st 2lbs
5ft 6
Age 39
Size 18

Due to other health issues I need a healthy BMI to qualify for a breast reduction and life insurance, both of which I'd like to have by 2024.

Target weight is 11st. Going to start on 1:1 when I'm back from working away next week so I can get my delivery, see how that goes for a couple of months.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

Xx

Keep going @oddwellingtonboots you will see the results. Consistency is the key (not that I’ve ever been able to before!).

I do 11-7 so basically skip breakfast and don’t eat anything after dinner. I’m having lunch at 11 and dinner at 6 and maybe a couple of cups of tea in between. I‘m not snacking as there are NO snacks that I want to eat, every single one I want is full of sugar. So next week I’m going to have apple and cheese at 11 so I can push lunch to 12 and look like a more normal person to the new office!

@oddwellingtonboots

I started this diet at the end of February, weighing 15st 2lb. I have done step 3 the whole time and it works for me. I am 5ft 1" and 64 years old, so I was far too heavy and it was making me feel very unwell, so I knew I had to do something. I was eating far too much, especially carbs and chocolate.
I work long days as a domestic in a hospital, so pretty active most days.

I don't know really how I have done it, I have just stuck to it to the letter. My mindset has just clicked in this time. I have tried so many diets in the past which I can stick to a bit, but then fail.

I drink around 3/4 litres of water a day. I have two products a day, then a meal of up to 600 calories. I eat chicken, fish, sometimes beef, plus veg. I have a "snack" of Greek yogurt and banana. I have done this the whole time and consistently lost weight.

With my holiday, though I didn't plan to, once I got there I decided to buy Slimfast meal replacements, and used then in the same way as the 1.1 plan. I did have some birthday cake as it was my grandchild's birthday and a Chinese one night, so I didn't totally stick to plan.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 21/07/2023 17:52

That's really interesting thanks @Londonnight do you know how many calories the 1:1 products are for comparison?

Bumblebeebum23 · 21/07/2023 18:58

Keep going @oddwellingtonboots and well done @Mull 👏 I've just come home with a car boot full of chocolate and cakes (last day of school/work for me). I'm really tempted to scoff it but I know that I will instantly regret it! Now, I need to be extra mindful for the next 6 weeks because I'll be out of routine. Hoping I can up the exercise and continue to stay on track with food despite holidays and meet ups with friends. Would love to go back in September skinnier rather than fat and full of ice cream 🤣

Londonnight · 22/07/2023 07:50

@howdoesatoastermaketoast The Cambridge diet 1.1 products I use are around 200 calories each [ some slightly more ] , that's the soups, shakes and bars.

Slim Fast in Canada were around 230 calories each, the shakes were around 250 calories. . Not sure if they are the same calories in the UK, or if they are lower.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 22/07/2023 11:59

@Londonnight Thanks for that, I'm using huel black for breakfast, and sometimes snacks, which is 200 kcal per scoop. You can make a 400 kcal shake per using 2 scoops but I just use one, so pretty similar.

Hi bumble, well done on your loss.

Thank you x

oddwellingtonboots · 29/07/2023 13:14

Friday's weigh in revealed. Maintained this week. Not surprised as I had a really nice week of food so happy that it's a maintain. I'm enjoying being a stone lighter so understanding what and how frequently I can eat and how much I need to exercise to maintain this weight.

I've decided not to place another order with 1:1 diet, instead got 4 weeks of food from newyou which was half the price but no consultant. I still have lots of 1:1 soup and porridge left.

Thread start weight 16st 2lbs
Current weight 15st 2lbs
5ft 6, age 39

Typical days eating is

8am - 1:1 porridge with banana, blueberries, mixed seeds, Brazil nuts

10.30am - New you snack bar

12pm - 1:1 soup with toasted sourdough slice loaded with tomato, cucumber, onion, radish, herbs, bit of balsamic, salad leaves

3pm - apple and peanut butter

6pm - Dinner of protein - usually tofu, eggs or chicken with lots of veg (started getting a local veg box delivery) and a small amount of sweet potato or brown rice

8pm - Aldi gluten free nut bar and herbal tea

2lt water and 10k steps minimum, adding in a swim or weights session when I have time.
No alcohol.

Gonna stick to that for a week and see what happens xx

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 29/07/2023 15:48

Sounds good @oddwellingtonboots I'm back from my holiday and feel like I ate so much food. I was theoretically inside my maintain calories so I'm trying to be positive. I'll update on Sunday I think.

Cheers to you all.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 30/07/2023 11:13

Ok end of week results for me

this week / last week high to high => 1.1Kg loss
this week /last week low to low => 0.3Kg gain

My actual calories per day were a little under (but only a little under) my calculated maintain level, but I was a lot more active so I don't think I'd have put fat on, I suppose I may have built a little muscle but that wouldn't be the end of the world.

Bumblebeebum23 · 31/07/2023 08:49

Today's weigh in 14st 9lbs 😊 which is my first stone 🥳 now to keep going.....

Well done, everyone, for your amazing progress x

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 01/08/2023 17:47

well done @Bumblebeebum23 it's a really nice milestone.

oddwellingtonboots · 02/08/2023 10:21

@Bumblebeebum23 absolutely killing it.

What is the collective weight loss on this thread so far?

Bumblebeebum23 · 02/08/2023 11:48

Thank you @oddwellingtonboots and @howdoesatoastermaketoast. I'm already feeling so much better. Just need to keep on going because a few times over the last couple of years, I have lost a stone/stone and a half and then given up. Had a mini victory yesterday. I tried on my size 16 jeans/work trousers, and I can get them on again. I'm pretty sure if I keep myself on track over the summer that I can wear them comfortably when I'm back at work in September 😊 Hope everyone is getting on well and thank you for your support x

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 03/08/2023 10:41

1 stone 2lb here

Bumblebeebum23 · 03/08/2023 10:49

Amazing! Well done @howdoesatoastermaketoast 😊

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 03/08/2023 14:18

thanks @Bumblebeebum23

I need to keep it up for a long time so all support and encouragement gratefully received .

oddwellingtonboots · 04/08/2023 07:36

Weigh in this morning:

Thread start: 16st 2lbs
Today: 15st 1lbs
Age 39, 5ft 6
Total loss: 1st 1lb

That 14 number is getting closer!
I've also lost 2.5 inches from each arm, 3 inches from each thigh, 2 inches from chest, 2 from hips and 4 from the waist! some of my size 18 stuff is visibly too big now, I'm back in size 16 trousers.

I'm feeling much slimmer, more toned and lighter, more energy. Cravings for delicious calorie laden food are still there but starting to fade a bit.

Eating went pretty well last week; the only thing I had that I probably shouldn't was a few mini bars of white chocolate from Aldis - they were delicious, but they made me feel sick and knackered the next day - maybe because I hadn't had much sugar for a while.

Thew weekly veg box I get is really helping, it fills my fridge with veggies so I end up cooking healthy stuff for dinner to use it all up, then eat it for lunch the next day.

Switching bread to sourdough and eating only 1 slice max per day is also great.

I've run out of 1:1 stuff so will have a week of normal calorie counting (about 1800 a day) and then will start new-you plan.

I've got a tattoo booked end of September as a reward for this - I want to be a 13 number by then!

Next Friday will be 2 months this thread has been open, check in if you're here 😀

Adding my loss to @Bumblebeebum23 and @howdoesatoastermaketoast makes a whopping 2st 10lbs lost on this thread! Thats amazing in less than 8 weeks. Lets keep going, maybe put some pics up without heads on at Christmas!

What an inspiring post @oddwellingtonboots. Such amazing progress and a wonderfully positive outlook. I haven't done any measurements yet but may buy a tape measure. I'm so proud of us! Let's keep it up 😊💪

Hippywannabe · 04/08/2023 09:00

Morning all, just coming in to report a 2lb weightloss.
I haven't been sticking to things properly but have been fairly good this week with a mixture of NYP meals/shakes and healthy meals.
I am hoping to get into a 100% mindset soon!

SuffolkUnicorn · 04/08/2023 09:21

Can I join? starting new you/exante on Monday I’ve done vlcd diets before

oddwellingtonboots · 04/08/2023 09:36

hi @SuffolkUnicorn welcome - whats your starting weight/height/age info?

hi @Hippywannabe thats a brilliant loss 😁- its all about mindset isn't it - making changes that can stick forever. They say it takes 9 weeks of doing something constantly to make it a habit.

So far I have:

Managed to stop eating completely after 9pm, going to try to make this 8pm by the end of the year.

Switched up my 9pm cuppa for herbal tea

Started eating proper breakfast at 8am everyday - porridge, banana, mixed seeds, chia with a cup of warm water with lemon and a cup of coffee

Started trying to get at least 7 hours kip a night

10k steps a day

2-3lt water a day

Fucking proud of these not gonna lie. They feel like thin person habits.

Next goal - add in 2-4 weights sessions a week.

@oddwellingtonboots im 16st 5 40 and 5ft6 I’ve had great success with xenical (lost 10 stone in 9 months on it) but I’m trying to lose a few stone quite quickly with vlcd

i do have eating issues where I go for days without eating but I’ve been ok the last few weeks at least with the shakes I will be getting my cals and nutrition in.

I was on saxenda lost some weight but it just exacerbated starving issues where I wasn’t eating for 3 weeks at a time and constantly fainting.

I’ve been on a diet most of my life so I do know what works just sometimes need support of others

hope I can still join and good luck to everybody
