5st to loose, 26 weeks, 1:1 diet

oddwellingtonboots · 13/06/2023 22:10

Hallo everyone,

Jumping on here as I have set a target to loose as much weight as possible before Christmas.

Starting stats
16st 2lbs
5ft 6
Age 39
Size 18

Due to other health issues I need a healthy BMI to qualify for a breast reduction and life insurance, both of which I'd like to have by 2024.

Target weight is 11st. Going to start on 1:1 when I'm back from working away next week so I can get my delivery, see how that goes for a couple of months.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

Xx

Signing up to join you - I'm 2.5 stone down since mid April, another 5 (err well maybe 6!) to go! I've been doing Fast 800 (not too strictly) and plan to do so until my hols in august. Then resume on return.

It's going to take longer than 26 weeks I reckon but I'm feeling more determined than I have before.

Current weight - 102kg. Target 65kg (working in kg - hides the horror of the st number!)

Hippywannabe · 05/07/2023 06:58

I might pop in to here if that is ok , I am on The New You Plan. It is similar but much cheaper (I have a code if anyone wants it!)
I have tried Lighterlife products and like them. I bought a load reduced when Superdrug stopped selling them, I do think they are expensive on their website compared to New You.
Someone sent me some Exante soups last week, they are thick but not to my taste!
Don't forget that you can use a porridge pack to make biscuits or gelatin to make a shake pack into a mousse.
Sometimes you just need a change.
Stats are that I lost nearly 6 stones last year on NYP but then had a bereavement and literally ate for comfort.
So back on the downward now. Shake and bar for lunch, soup and meal pack for dinner.

oddwellingtonboots · 06/07/2023 13:53

@Hippywannabe New You looks very similar to Cambridge and is half the price - I assume you don't get consultant support though? I might try that for month 2 as I'm not convinced I need the consultant. Is the food edible? Can i have the code pls. Thats an amazing loss - 6 stone, how long did it take you?

Sorry for your bereavement also 💐

Hippywannabe · 06/07/2023 21:42

@oddwellingtonboots I have emailed you my code. There aren't consultants but there is an excellent private FB support group. Some of the members are whizzes at recipes with the packs too.
The only meal I disliked was the burger but others like it and I also never had the egg pack, I just used 2 eggs instead.
I started in mid September and was 4 stones lighter at Xmas. Then it took about another 3 months to lose 2 stones.
I genuinely do love the plan and it really does work if you stick to it.

Week 2 weigh in:

Another 4lbs lost this week which I’m very pleased with. 16.0 now from 16.11 so would love to see 15 something on the scales next week.

Have felt a bit less hungry in the morning so been pushing lunch to 12 and still having dinner at 6 so fasting about 17.5hrs.

Still haven’t had ANY chocolate / biscuits / cake!! Really not sure if I’ve gone without for this long ever! I definitely think there’s a ‘sugar monster’ waiting to pounce as soon as I have any so we’ll see. Surprised by the lack of cravings I must say.

Hope everyone else has had a good week.

SW 16.11
CW 16.0
This week loss 4lb
Total loss 11lbs

Willowview · 07/07/2023 11:21

Good morning ladies,

Thank you OP for starting this thread as I have identified with the SW's and TW's more than on other weight loss chats.

Please may I join?

How much is the food for the 1:1 diet ?

oddwellingtonboots · 07/07/2023 23:44

Hallo all,

Weigh in this week

SW 15st 6.4lbs
TW 15st 3.9lbs

So 2.5lbs gone this week to make a total of 10lbs in total, of which about 9 is from two weeks of 1:1 diet (Cambridge) - I also use MFP on 1200 cals plus exercise setting.

Sooo happy with that, hoping for another 2-3lbs this week.

Breakfast is 6.30am lemon in hot water, then 8am coffee with a splash of milk, then 9am 1:1 shake and I add a frozen banana to it.

Lunch is at 12, usually a 1:1 meal (200 cal) with a salad on the side.

At 3pm I have a 1:1 bar with a other coffee.

Dinner at 6pm, another 1:1 meal with some extra protein like chicken or prawns, and veg.

10k steps
15 mins yoga
Swim 2-3 times a week
3lt water every day
Golden veg water if I get hungry in-between and a big herbal tea in the evening

Would love to see a 14 number in the next couple of weeks. My starting weight was 16st and I'm 5ft 6, age 39.

Xx

@Hippywannabe thank you I'll probably try that next month when all my 1:1 stuff has run out xx

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 08/07/2023 07:25

1st April - Started 232lb, BMI 35.3
Currently 207lb, BMI 31.5

So total 25lb loss, 10lb more to move into the 'overweight' category.

Mull · 08/07/2023 14:00

@oddwellingtonboots great results! You are doing much more exercise than me. I know I need to up this but trying to make achievable changes each week, rather than go nuts with everything and inevitably fail.

Keep up the good work 👍

oddwellingtonboots · 08/07/2023 17:39

@Mull You too, smashing it!

The 10k steps is walking kiddo to school and back x2 (its too short a distance to warrant getting the car out, and its a bit hilly, so its good), and then a half hour walk at lunchtime with dog. 15 min yoga I do between 7am and 8am just watching a youtube video in the lounge. Swims are in the evening/weekends, outside in the summer (I'm lucky I live by rivers and lakes) and in the pool in the winter. I'm going to start going to the gym when I'm in the 13st region to do some weights. Hopefully in autumn.

I had two joint replacements and had years of not being able to be active because I was waiting for surgery and was on crutches, so I'm making up for it now.

Very lucky that I WFH so can fit all this in. I've had to do things bit by bit tho, the yoga is only recent, and the 10k steps have only started since I got a fitbit a few months ago. Its taken me a bout a year to build up this level of activity but I would go crazy if I didn't do it now, I genuinely love it. It gives me loads more calories to eat as well according to myfitnesspal.

@FatAgainItsLettuceTime that is fantastic loss in a short period of time, you must be so happy with that.

@L1R876 its typically £2.50 per items and you have 3-4 items per day, and you get a consultant with that. They usually want you to buy 4 weeks of items at once. Its expensive, there are cheaper ways to get similar products but you don't get the consultancy.

Honestly, to anyone who finds it too pricey, try The New You Plan, the bundles work out at just over £1 a product and they are really nice. I do have a £10 off code if you use my email . Pm me if you want it.
Back to today-woke up feeling positive and had a NYP chocolate coconut bar then went to my monthly yoga/meditation/reiki workshop which was amazing. We had to do a fire ritual where we wrote down negative thoughts about 5 different subjects and then burned them then did a meditation on positive affirmations. All of my negative things were based around my weight and I hadn't thought fully how it permeates my whole life.
Lunch was 2 skinny sausages in 1 slice of sourdough bread followed by a dinner NYP strawberry shake with some added frozen fruit and ice. I did also have some strawberries and grapes.
On the whole, I feel like I had a really good day! Hope everyone else is feeling good too.

@oddwellingtonboots
Thank you.

GachaBread · 09/07/2023 00:06

Cambridge is fab! I just can't afford it at the moment. I've ordered loads of shake that weight shakes/bars as an alternative. Now just need a big fat dose of motivation then I'm with you ladies. Summer is so depressing being fat. I hate being so uncomfortable in my clothes.

Oooiwanna · 09/07/2023 07:12

Hi ladies. Can I join you? I’m on a similar journey to a lot of you. I’m 5ft6, SW 17.5, CW 16.7. I’ve been using Noom for logging food water and exercise and also Slimpod which is really motivating. My weight loss is slow though about 1 lb per week which is frustrating. I’d like to be in the 15s by a cruise I’m going on end of Aug. Good luck everyone!

Shake that weight is brilliant.

Bumblebeebum23 · 10/07/2023 07:17

Monday weigh. Still coming off really slowly 🐌 1lb this week

Original start Weight (16th June): 15st 9lbs
Thread start weight: 15st 5lbs

Current weight: 15st 1.5lbs

Loss so far: 7.5lbs

Mull · 10/07/2023 07:35

@Bumblebeebum23 youve lost over half a stone, that’s brilliant. Slow and steady will get there but I absolutely understand the frustrations. It’s hard to keep motivated but it is working 👍

Bumblebeebum23 · 10/07/2023 16:16

Thank you, @Mull. I'm trying not to get disheartened, and I am glad it's going down. It just seems so much slower than normal. Previously, I have lost big numbers at the beginning of a weight loss mission, and then it slows down. However, this time, it feels like it's dripping off bit by bit. Trying to remember that each lb is a step closer to a healthier and happier me x

oddwellingtonboots · 11/07/2023 10:23

@Bumblebeebum23 Over half a stone in 3 weeks is fantastic - you should be so proud.

I think there is some science stuff to say slow and steady loss is sustained longer? so hopefully that will ensure long term health and happiness.

Are you drinking x3 litres water a day, that might help to shift it? could you up your step count maybe? I got a fitbit which really helps - tells me my daily calorie burn and encourages me to move more.

One lb is a 3,500 calorie deficit. so to do 2lbs a week you need 1000 calories deficit per day which is huge.

Keep going, we are with you :)

Bumblebeebum23 · 11/07/2023 18:49

Thank you, @oddwellingtonboots. That's the mindset I'm trying to get into. I have lost rapidly before (and in hindsight probably went too far in terms of cutting back). This time, I am trying to eat mindfully and make long-term manageable changes, so I hope that although it is coming off slower, once there I can actually maintain it. I have lost count of the number of times I have lost weight and gained it back. Something needs to change! I am drinking more water and have charged my fitbit, so hopefully, things will continue to move down. Nearly the 6 weeks summer holidays, so I hope to up the exercise as I won't be at work.

Mull · 11/07/2023 21:31

Eating mindfully - that’s been my watch word this week. Had a tricky weekend with entertaining and Im now away with work so that’s a dinner and hotel breakfast. Trying to stick to my fasting windows as much as possible and, even though I’m eating more than I have done in the previous two weeks, I’m trying to eat mindfully and not just think ‘fuck it’ and binge because I’m ‘off plan’. We’ll see what the scales say on Fri but I’m pleased with my mindset.

oddwellingtonboots · 12/07/2023 09:18

Mindfully is definitely the word of the week - upping protein at every meal, to feel fuller :) moving more, not eating after 6pm, drinking lots of water.

Fingers crossed for everyone weighing on Friday.

@Mull what are you hoping for this week?

I was 15st 4lbs last week (5ft 6, age 39)
Hoping for 15st 2lbs this week.
Can't wait to break the 15st and get into the 14s. Hopefully will happen this month.
