5st to loose, 26 weeks, 1:1 diet

oddwellingtonboots · 13/06/2023 22:10

Hallo everyone,

Jumping on here as I have set a target to loose as much weight as possible before Christmas.

Starting stats
16st 2lbs
5ft 6
Age 39
Size 18

Due to other health issues I need a healthy BMI to qualify for a breast reduction and life insurance, both of which I'd like to have by 2024.

Target weight is 11st. Going to start on 1:1 when I'm back from working away next week so I can get my delivery, see how that goes for a couple of months.

Anyone else in a similar situation?

Xx

@oddwellingtonboots well a lb would get me to 15st 13lbs so it would be lovely to see 15 on the scales. Obviously I’d like to carry on loosing 2lb+ a week but I think I need to lower my expectations! If I could just be consistent then 1lb a week will make a difference, if I just stick with it!

oddwellingtonboots · 12/07/2023 12:18

Cheering you on for a 15 number this week :)

Week 3 weigh in:

REALLY happy to see 15.12 on the scales this morning. I’m hoping to never see 16 something again! 2lb loss this week which I am very happy with. As per my last post, there’s been additional food this week from entertaining and staying away with work. I think it shows how ‘in the zone’ I am at the mo but, also, mindful choices and not allowing that ‘fuck it’ attitude to creep in, does work! I MUST find a way of changing my eating habits long term and so life events will appear and need to be dealt with.

I will weigh again next Weds as that’s the day of my blood test (4wks after the last one that showed high blood sugar and kicked me into action). I would love to see 15.11 as that would be a stone gone between blood tests, and I’ve cut out 90% of my refined sugar intake so really hopeful the blood test will show improvement (still expecting it to be too high).

Hope everyone has a good week!

We are off on holidays today so 4 days of eating out and no access to scales. Will be aiming for making the best choices possible and being as active as possible to try to combat the extra calories.
Anticipating some gain though.

14stone 10lb this morning, started 16stone 8lb on 1st April.

Bumblebeebum23 · 17/07/2023 07:21

Much better week. 2.5lbs off and into the 14s 😊

Original start Weight (16th June): 15st 9lbs
Thread start weight: 15st 5lb

Current weight: 14st 13lbs

Loss so far: 10lbs
Loss since thread start: 6lbs

Well done on your loss @Mull fingers crossed for your stone on Wed 😊

Mull · 17/07/2023 07:25

@FatAgainItsLettuceTime hope you’re having a lovely holiday!

@Bumblebeebum23 well done, great to get into the 14s!

Mull · 19/07/2023 07:20

Blood test day today! Scales say 15.10 this morning so that’s 1st 1lb off. Really pleased, even more so with the huge reduction in sugar. Hope it’s reflected in the results 🤞

Bumblebeebum23 · 19/07/2023 07:34

Yay! Well.done @Mull on losing a stone. Great achievement. Good luck with your blood test.

I went for a huge Turkish meal yesterday to celebrate my course ending and, despite trying to be fairly "good," ate way too much. However, I'm trying to be straight back on it today instead of sabotaging myself after one blip x

oddwellingtonboots · 19/07/2023 10:58

@Mull this is amazing - well done you :) Great to see on and off scale victories.

I maintained on Friday, was still 15st 4lbs (thread start 16st) but weighed today and I'm 15st 2lbs - getting so close to that first stone. Hoping for it next week maybe :)

@Bumblebeebum23 -whoop whoop for the 14s!

I love this thread so much.

@oddwellingtonboots well done, great work!

Bumblebeebum23 · 19/07/2023 16:00

Well done @oddwellingtonboots amazing achievement 👏

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 20/07/2023 02:24

First of all well done @oddwellingtonboots a stone is great.

If it's ok to join in I've been on my new diet about the same time frame but have lurked on a few threads this one seems quite friendly and a little less intimidating iykwim.

I've mostly been working and planning in Kg as it helps me look at things more objectively. But I'm happy to convert to fit in with what other people are doing.
Starting weight: 150Kg Target weight: 60Kg I'm trying for 1000 calorie deficit a day to lose 1Kg a week.

So far I'm in week 6 and have lost 7Kg, so I've also lost a stone so far.

Bumblebeebum23 · 20/07/2023 07:24

Welcome @howdoesatoastermaketoast well done on your loss so far 👏 glad to have you with us x

Londonnight · 20/07/2023 07:59

I don't update often, but wanted to share after being away overseas for two weeks. I did worry as to how I would do with not being at home, but I still lost 4.5lb in the two weeks away!

I am now just off a 4 stone weight loss. I started at 15st 2lb, and now 11st 5lb. I can't believe I have managed to get this much off. I feel [ and look ] so much better.

Next goal is a wedding in September, so hoping for a few more pound off. But I am getting to the point that I will reach target, and hopefully than manage to maintain the losses.

Mull · 20/07/2023 08:33

@howdoesatoastermaketoast welcome!

@Londonnight losing weight on your holiday is amazing! Your overall weight loss is such an achievement - I really hope I can do similiar. I’m trying to focus on small increments (to not be overwhelmed) but I really need to lose 5st minimum. I’m only 5ft 3 so I’d need to be 10st to get to a healthy BMI which is never going to happen! I’d like to get out of the ‘obese’ range though, that’s at 12st.

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 20/07/2023 12:22

@Londonnight losing weight whilst on holiday is impressive! We have holidays planned and I'm worried I'll either put weight on or i'll be really weird and awkward and make my family uncomfortable I don't want to do either.

4 stone is awesome it's great to hear that you're feeling better.

@Mull I know what you mean about focusing on small increments. I think that's really sensible. A healthy BMI is my goal too but it feels really surreal. Like I can't really say I want to be 60Kg because I have no idea what that looks or feels like, but I guess I can say I want to be healthier.

oddwellingtonboots · 20/07/2023 12:49

@howdoesatoastermaketoast - welcome, kg is totally fine, I usually know my weight in both so celebrate the lbs lost and the kgs lost! We are a friendly bunch :) and the thread is only a month old. We all know where we want to be by the end of the year, end of the month, end of the week etc - just here to cheer each other on and post up all the wins (and maintains, groan...and gains, eeek).

The journey might take a while for us all but it feels like a really worthwhile one.

@Londonnight ~inspirational~ I would LOVE to be able to write what you just wrote. I started at 16st 2 and have dreams of being 11st. Please share your top tips if you can. How long has it taken you? Has your lifestyle changed...so many questions. Losing weight on holiday is always great because its definitely easy to think fuck it.

What are everyones aims for the rest of the month?
I'm 15st 2 now so would love a 14 number by the end of July.

Top tips that work - lets have them!

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 20/07/2023 13:30

@oddwellingtonboots I'm away 2 out of the next 4 weeks but I'm a little ahead of target atm so I'd actually quite like it if I'm at least down to 145.0kg by the end of August as that's still 1.5Kg less than today and on track of my long term goals.

Mull · 20/07/2023 14:23

My next aim is my weigh in on 11th Aug as we go away for a week on 12th. That’s 3wks. Would love to be 1st 7lbs down for that so need another 6lbs over the next 3wks, fingers crossed 🤞

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 20/07/2023 14:53

I guess what works for me as a tip is more about motivation and tracking is I weigh myself once a day at the same time and track the week high and week low weights for each week. I then compare the high to high and the low to low from one week to the next to get a better estimate of how much fat I've probably lost.

I find the bigger you are the more wildly the scales can fluctuate and it means no one reading can leave you feeling gutted

howdoesatoastermaketoast · 20/07/2023 14:56

@Mull fingers crossed for you.

Bumblebeebum23 · 20/07/2023 16:16

Wow, everyone is doing so well. Well done! My next mini goal is to lose my first stone (4 lbs to go) before I go away on the 15th of Auguest. Then, I just need to try and avoid going crazy with the all-inclusive food!

Mull · 21/07/2023 06:43

Week 4 weigh in:

Very happy with 3lbs off this week so definitely through the 1st mark and heading downwards! As my previous post, would like to get to 1st 7lb loss for holiday in 3wks so need another 5lb off for that.

Im finding IF an ‘easy’ way of eating as I’m not counting calories (might have to in the future?) and just know that I’m not snacking. I’ve spent a LONG time on previous plans doing little deals with myself, ie, “yes I’ll eat that but then I won’t have this but then that means I could eat this”. I’m definitely thinking about food less when normally I think about food more.

My only downside is that I’m shattered. Really exhausted. I thought I would be to start with as my body got used to the lack of sugar but I’m still exhausted. I start a new job next week so a bit apprehensive that I’m not going to be able to stay awake 😕Going to take an apple and some cheese to help (also don’t want to be the fat woman falling on her lunch at 11am in front of new colleagues 😆)

Hoping to get the results of my second blood test today (hoping for lower blood sugar results) so will update with that. Hope everyone has a good week.

My god, I've hit a plateau or a tough bit that's for sure.

15st 1.6lbs this morning
Thread start 16st 2lbs
(Age 39/5ft6)

So still a loss but bloody hell come on!
Really wanna see a 14 number this month.

Although in good news, I've lost 12.5 inches!

I'm going to change weigh day to a Monday to stop the weekend excesses.

@Mull what IF timings do you do?
