I weighted myself this morning and I'm 14st 5lbs. That's a gain of 12lbs in the past 10 weeks - I'm disgusted with myself!!

I've been struggling to lose weight since DC2 was born 14 months ago. Nowhere near enough sleep, too exhausted to exercise and bingeing on crap at night when the kids are in bed.

We're going on our first family holiday abroad at the end of September and I want to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight (11st) for then.

I have 18 weeks to lose 47lbs, that's 2.5lbs a week. I've fired up my fitbit and intend on doing the following:

10,000 steps a day
1200 calories a day
Log everything in MyFitnessPal
Drink 2 litres of water a day

I've lost around a stone twice already this year doing faddy diets but they aren't sustainable long term and I've put the weight back on (plus some) when I've stopped, so I want to do more of a lifestyle change than a crash diet this time.

Anyone want to join me for accountability? I plan on weighing myself every Monday morning and will share my results here (even if no-one else joins, it'll hopefully keep me on track).

Even if we lost 2lb a month that is amazing over a year. The key is changing your diet in a way that you feel not too deprived.

Ive started really trying to focus on protein.

I love hunters chicken so I’ve been having a large chicken breast, slice of bacon from Aldi (33cals) has no fat. Brush some bbq sauce on and a sprinkle of cheese and yum! In the side a bag of microwave veg (90 cals)

It all comes in under 500 cals and is yum

any nice low cal snack ideas appreciated

Dont really have a goal weight I just want to get under 10st like I used to be. It's coming off verrryyyy slowly. I guess my deficit just isn't big enough. In probably in a 100-200 calorie deficit because I don't exercise at all so I'm gonna need to start moving more to make it bigger

Well done!!

1lb of fat is the equivalent of 3500 calories, so you'd need to be in a deficit of/burn an extra 500 calories a day to lose 1lb a week - not easy!

WEIGH DAY

I'm going to stop the midweek weigh in! Every week, I've lost weight by Thu/Fri and it's like my brain sees that as a green light to 'treat' myself which leads to a gain come the Monday.

SW: 14st 5lbs
CW: 13st 7.4lbs
GW: 11st

That's a GAIN of 3.4lbs since Friday 🤯 I know it's not fat, it's water weight attached to the excessive carbs I've eaten over the weekend, but it's still very demotivating to see thoae numbers!

4 weeks until I go on holiday I am going for it from now until then.

STRICTLY -

1200 calories a day
Focusing on protein
Upping my water intake
Doing 2 classes a week at the gym
Going to bed earlier (easier now that the nights are drawing in)

I'd be delighted to get below 13st by the end of the month, so my interim goal is 8lbs (2lbs a week).

How did everyone else get on this week?

@HawdMeBack i allow myself one slice of sourdough a day. I don’t strictly follow my macros but carbs are definitely ok

like you today I weighed myself and I’ve also gained 3lbs!

Ive ate well but I have drank prosecco so it could be that!

However as this is a marathon and a permanent change I’m not prepared to give up my weekend drink!

Also a few weeks ago I was 11. 12lbs on a Monday so it’s still progress that I’m 11. 9lbs.

Hopefully I’ll start seeing 11.6lbs more often

BELATED WEIGH DAY RESULTS

@HawdMeBack that's what I was like a few weeks ago so knocked it on the head then. Kinda miss it but it wasn't good for my continuity - it was gains for me and to close to the weekend which meant I was pressing the 'fuck it' button.

Another 1lb off. Bloody slow but I'll take it. I walked 000's of steps last week with the pram. Haven't this week yet so we'll see how we go. I'll try and get out tomorrow, Thurs & Fri!

Good to see everyone's still going strong! Even small losses are still losses.

I lost another pound when I weighed myself mid week last week. Didn't bother weighing yesterday though because its my 30th birthday this week and we went out for celebrations at the weekend so I knew there was no point in weighing myself. The dress that I wore for my birthday meal fit me a lot nicer than it did previously which was so nice after all my efforts

Well absolutely feck it anyway!! I am UP 4.5 lbs

I stopped BF last week and I had heard that I might be emotional, from Wednesday on I do not think I have ever been so depressed in all my life - and I have been hospitalised for MH! Anyway, eating too much chocolate is one of the least destructive things I can do so I don't really mind the weight gain.

I am back on track this morning and I think that extra should shift quick enough. I also hardly exercised in the last week. I was obviously over eating but I didn't think I was going completely crazy I stopped eating 'real food' and eat chocolate for the week probably a multipack of twirls and a few cookies a day.

I'm quite pleased with that, I've been quite strict cutting out the snacks that were creeping in which has been hard so would have been nice to be a bit more but this seems to be about as much as I can lose in a week and also had my period when I often gain/stick so better than it could have been.

Think my scales are broken.

Two weeks ago I was 10st 5. Since then it's been my 30th birthday and I've had three meals out plus birthday cake and chocolate AND I'm on day 2 of my period. I wasn't going to weigh myself because I thought what's the point? I needed to weigh my kitten though so I got on the scales with the intention to do it a second time holding her. Stepped on the scales... 10st 5 still! After two weeks of not properly dieting and currently being on my period. That can't be right. I refuse to believe that's correct. It's annoying because now I can't trust my scales because I definitely definitely should weigh more than that right now. So confused

What a shitshow of a week! All 4 of us have been floored with some sort of virus/the cold from hell, so any attempt at healthy eating and exercise has gone out of the window!

After eating nothing but carbs for the first few brutal days, I resigned myself to a shit week and proceeded to gobble down anything that could be eaten straight out of a packet 😫

I've decided not to weigh myself tomorrow as there is no chance I haven't gained weight this week, and I can't face that reality 3 weeks before my holiday. We're all still feeling quite ropey but definitely over the worst, so I'm starting from scratch tomorrow!
