I've really let myself go and I am sick of feeling so bad.

Starting tomorrow.

I've fallen off the wagon plenty too. But I'm trying to stay positive and keep trying. Basically, big change doesn't happen overnight, it happens with co tumulus and sustained effort. And I'm only going to have successes if I keep trying....

Been a stressful day for all sorts of (non-food related) reasons. I know stress is super bad for weight loss. So trying to switch off from it. Netflix binge beckons....

Watchkeys · 25/05/2023 00:29

What reliably works for you, @Giselletheunicorn ?

Giselletheunicorn · 25/05/2023 07:42

@Watchkeys

Honestly, it's 3 steps forward and 2 back with me. I'm able to incorporate more exercise into my week fairly easily. But struggling to get snacking under control.

Haven't done my first weigh in yet. Reckon I've lost a modest amount - say 2lbs. Could have been more but still eating too much.

Am trying:

Gym. Have joined Gymophobics recently and doing their 30 minute resistance workout 3 x a week. It is a good option for me. Have weak knees, ankles and feet due to fallen arches and am very prone to injury here. So seated resistance workout much lower risk than trying to run or do an exercise class. Plus gym is 5 mins from my house so I have no excuse not to go.

Slimpod - listening to pods daily and trying to change mental mindset to food. Definitely snacking less. But have a long way to go on that score. It is good for trying to keep a positive mindset and keeping going rather you hit problems rather than giving up.

Changing habits - stopped adding snack food to the shopping order. So if I want snacks, I physically have to leave the house and buy them. Trying to force myself to eat breakfast even though I struggle to manage food early on.

How's everyone getting on

Watchkeys · 06/06/2023 08:44

@Giselletheunicorn

Why do you snack? D'you get hungry?

Have you thought of doing things differently?

IsItThough · 06/06/2023 12:20

I've lost 5lbs! I haven't anyone else to tell really but I am quite pleased

Nowillpowerarall · 07/06/2023 17:49

Well done!!

aibutohavethisusername · 07/06/2023 21:29

I’ve lost 4.7lbs so far. In totally I’ve lost 28.7lbs

Nowillpowerarall · 09/06/2023 12:59

That's fantastic. I've lost 8lb in total, going to keep plodding on, would like to lose another 17lb. Bern drinking a lot of water.

ILoveNigelTufnel · 10/06/2023 19:36

You’re all doing a cracking job! Well done!

Ive done Day 10 of the 30 Day Shred and I feel so much better for it. Definitely lost inches as my clothes are fitting better. That and the calorie counting (using Slimfasf) is working really well. I actually feel in control for a change!

Giselletheunicorn · 24/06/2023 11:13

This group seems to have died a bit of a death...how is everyone getting on.

So my weight loss has been modest (3lbs) because have been hitting the ice cream a lot on the hot weather. However, the good thing that's come out of this is I've managed to stick to exercise habits for the first time in my life, so feeling positive. Now do 30mins resistance workout at Gymnophobics 3/4 times a week and am toning up. Getting much less pain in knees because my leg muscles and core are taking pressure off my joints.

Have decided to start 16:8 fasting to see if I can shave pounds off that way.

Hope everyone else is doing well x

IsItThough · 24/06/2023 11:58

Still at it
Seems to be working, slowly, and feel good on it
Off the sugar, and fake sugars, stopped eating crisps, protein breakfasts, swimming lots and walking more, trying to force myself to go back to the gym but its still a mental block.
Holiday in 3 and half weeks, hoping to have lost a stone in total by then

JaneBeyre · 24/06/2023 16:06

I don't know that I've made much progress. Maybe 1kg. My pattern is to start the week strongly then eat and relax and drink a few beers over the weekend and put it all back on again. I'm trying to be good over the weekend as I'm now competing with DH and our weigh-in is tomorrow.

brilliant!

BeastOfBODMAS · 25/06/2023 17:04

I didn’t bite the bullet and commit to calorie counting until about a week and a half ago but I’m down 6lb since then!

ILoveNigelTufnel · 01/07/2023 19:47

Brilliant results! @aibutohavethisusername @BeastOfBODMAS

I’ve done exercise nearly every day since 1st June other than when it was horribly hot and we had a heat wave and I’ve been calorie counting too. Day 26 of 30 Day Shred completed today so feeling pretty proud of myself that I’m sticking to something. Definitely feel better. Just wish someone (anyone?!) would notice I’ve lost inches.

Cocotrain · 02/07/2023 16:46

Joining if ok?!

my diet starts tomorrow. Just joined MFP and weighed self - 11 stone 7 (and am only 5ft 4!). Want to lose 1.5-2 stone as cardiologist also told me I need to drop a bit!

alarm set for 0530 tomorrow to start C25K for about the 8th time(!). 1200 calories a day seems like so few however

FiloPasty · 03/07/2023 12:51

I’m back in, I need to really reset, too much wine as I use it as a stress reliever but then it impacts motivation, energy and sleep. It’s just very ingrained, I’d love to try and go alcohol free. Does anyone else struggle with this?
I’m going to look into the slimpod

jamdan21 · 05/07/2023 17:41

I started on day 1 of this thread, stopped all the crap snacking, but still have a treat of chocolate at the weekend. I'm walking at least 10,000 steps with the dog every day and have lost 19 pounds. I've now got bingo wings though Ugh.

IsItThough · 05/07/2023 19:59

19lbs! Thats amazing.

I've lost about 6 kg and I can feel it as I move and see it in how clothes fit.

I need to lose a lot more to be a healthy weight but, well, I have all the time it needs.
