I've really let myself go and I am sick of feeling so bad.

Starting tomorrow.

I’m a daily weigher whilst still understanding daily fluctuations can occur etc. I use an app called ‘happy scale’ it works out your average loss, so smooths any blips out which I find quite motivating when I’m in the zone. I’m hopeful I’ll stay in the zone a lot longer, pregnancies, developing a chronic condition has meant I’ve yo yo’d a bit. But we’ve not long purchased a campervan and I really want to make the most of it whilst the kids are little and being smaller and fitter will help with that.

feeling positive for the day ahead 😊.

Managed to avoid snacking after dinner last night. So feeling happy about that. Going for a walk this morning.

Still thinking a lot about chocolate though....

mehtivation · 16/05/2023 08:21

Me. 5 foot 4, age 45 and in a size 10-12 until 2021-22. Ordered x2 size 16 dresses for upcoming events and both only just about do up and look bloody awful. I'm pretty upset about it.

I've always been in the gym but it's obviously not working so well as it did combined with a new job that's a lot more sedentary. I'm aiming for 10000 steps each day and cutting out crisps and alcohol, aiming for lower sugar and carbs, more veg and meat/cheese. I've been guilty of bingeing, restricting and overeating in the past and I want to lose a dress size or two without weighing myself or becoming a stresshead/bore about it.

Good luck everyone!

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 08:44

Marvellous

I've just eaten 2 pittas with tomato, spring onion and hummus

Current cal intake is now 655

I could easily eat the same again

But I'll try not to

FuckoffeeBeforeCoffee · 16/05/2023 09:12

Morning, everyone!

I weighed and I'm 11.8.

I didn't have any chocolate yesterday and I'm honestly so pleased with myself! Overall, it was a good day food-wise. I also restarted Noom.

Hoping for the same willpower today.

What's everyone eating for lunch? That's my downfall - I reach for bread and crackers with LOADS of butter.

Longwhiskers · 16/05/2023 09:19

I’ve got left over cauliflower and chickpea traybake for lunch with halloumi.

I also weigh daily, got some scales which connect with an app on my phone. I find it motivating to see a tiny loss each day.

I thought my day was ok. So ok that I went out for a coffee and biscuit. Then absentmindedly I ate a chocolate croissant and some more biscuits.

When calculated what I ate, I got a big shock. No wonder I’ve put i up p two stones! I’m going to be more mindful from now on. So a false start for me today. I know now that I either change what I eat for my main meals or cut out all sugar completely.

A valuable lesson there though so worth a missed day really Grin

ooh this sounds good!! I'm a daily weigher too so might download this

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 11:09

I felt really hungry after eating my pitta breads but had a cup of tea and rode it out and now I'm ok

So I'm really pleased I didn't go for more food

Nowillpowerarall · 16/05/2023 11:31

I can't find an app called happy scale?

Choufleuretbattenberg · 16/05/2023 11:56

Trying my best to achieve intermittent fasting - its so hard! I know ill get used to it eventually but it's only day 2 and I could eat a small child.

Everyone else on the thread seems to weigh so little. I'm sitting at 100kg, 5ft 8. It's a disgrace.

I need to keep my willpower and somehow sort this.

Purplecatshopaholic · 16/05/2023 13:56

Keto bar for breakfast in the car to a meeting. Ok, could have been better but could have been worse, lol. Toast and ham for lunch. Out with the dog later.

I've managed the day with veggie soup, a small piece of chicken and then a low cal meal. Starving and miserable, and fat at the same time. How long before I get used to this level of hunger?

You won't. When your body stops expecting regular carb hits, it will start to learn to use its fat for energy, and it won't have such a desperate demand for you to eat.

You're not planning to eat this way every day though, are you? Nobody can be healthy with this sort of thing as a regular diet. What was your low cal meal? If it was ready made, and you keep this up, you'll soon be medically malnourished.

misspositivepants · 16/05/2023 15:00

Thank you, will have another look

Giselletheunicorn · 16/05/2023 17:58

Had a very eggy lunch, bigger than my usual portion and somehow this has kept me going until 6pm without my usual 3pm slump or the desire to ram-raid the corner shop for Freddo Frogs. Note to self, eat proper meals, especially eggs....

PhoenixArisen · 16/05/2023 22:11

Think I had an ok day
Lots of lentil soup and spinach
3 slices of ryvita and peanut butter
Chicken, rice and salad.

I feel like I've forgotten some food but I'm racking my brain and can't think.

10300 steps

HollyGolightly4 · 16/05/2023 22:15

Not a great day, but lots of exercise so hopefully that's ok

HollyGolightly4 · 17/05/2023 06:25

Morning everyone, anyone weighing in? 14.9 this morning which is encouraging!

MegCleary · 17/05/2023 06:49

Morning weigh in, 10/6 👍. I am hungry though. So plan is ready brek, cheese wrap and egg fried rice with pork for dinner. Then yoga class. Drinking more water. Did chest and have two biscuits yesterday. But that’s no where near the 8 I would usually have. Keep going gang

Giselletheunicorn · 17/05/2023 07:35

Cracked a little bit last night and had some sweets but managed to stop myself eating the whole packet, which is a start. Managed 9000 steps during the day, which I'm happy with.

My office day today (normally wfh) and it's easy to eat well as there's so many healthy food outlets nearby. So going to try and be virtuous.

misspositivepants · 17/05/2023 07:40

I’m a daily weigher and I’m down 2lbs today, just by being mindful and logging and upping my steps. I’m a little bit hungry but not ravenous which helps.

I always come to the realisation when I calorie count how little food I actually should be eating compared to when I just eat what I want when I went. Just need to make that realisation stick.

Bananarepublic · 17/05/2023 08:14

Still not losing any weight but toning up. I'm currently 83kg at 173cm (5 ft 8in). I've been working on it for six months. Now up to four classes a week, either Pilates or Aquafit. I only manage 7000 steps a day but that's up from 4000 so some progress. Definitely more muscle definition which I'm told burns more calories than fat, so that's good. I recently bought some small weights so try and do three or four five minute arm toning YouTube classes a week.

I find it easier to up exercise than cut down food. I have reduced portion size for excess calorie foods like mashed potato, so just have small amount. Really trying to cut out cakes and biscuits. Every now and then I'll do a soup day where both lunch and dinner are home made soup and toast.

My flab hotspots are belly and batwings. If I can reduce those and get down to around 77kg (tall and big frame) I'll be thrilled.

waistchallenge · 17/05/2023 08:25

@Bananarepublic We're trying to target abdominal fat in the waist slimming thread I started, if you want to join.
