I've really let myself go and I am sick of feeling so bad.

Starting tomorrow.

How are you planning to lose?

Are you hoopla hooping?

@MayBeeJuneSoon Just calorie reduction and exercise, I am interested in hoola hooping too though.

I just wanted to avoid becoming fixated on my weight which has been bad for me in the past and I don't know my weight now. I've reduced from size 18 to size 12 already so that has worked for me so far, I feel like weighing myself will throw me back into my old destructive habits and I'm scared of it 😦

Also type 2 diabetes runs in my family, if I reduce my waist it's a good indicator that I'm reducing the type 2 diabetes risk, as well (especially as I have a mixed heritage background).

I'm in too... I badly need a change! It's just time I done something about it...
what's everyone's plan of action to work on your targets?? 🙌🏻

Kalettesarethebest · 14/05/2023 21:49

Yes, I'm in too! Big, fat slob at the mo!

Lookingforthecoffeerevels · 14/05/2023 21:53

Count me in too please. I've been starting tomorrow for actual months but maybe a bit of accountability will give me the kick up the arse I need 👍

Nowillpowerarall · 14/05/2023 22:05

Me too please. I made a 6 month plan today. 5ft 2 and 11stone. Not good.

Redcase · 14/05/2023 22:20

I’d already planned on starting tomorrow so this is great timing. I’m at the heaviest I’ve been for 8 years. 🙁

I’ve done my meal plan for the week and got everything in the big shop at weekend.

My goals this week

  1. Track everything I eat on mfp
  2. Only drink water and green tea
  3. Three gym sessions
  4. Minimum of 10,000 steps daily
  5. Not to fall in the fridge the second I get in from work

Good luck tomorrow everyone

eleanorwish · 14/05/2023 22:38

I'd like to join in too! I have a lot to lose, but I'm going to focus on a few pounds at a time.
I plan to count calories on myfitness pal and get my steps up to 10000. I'm not very active at the moment due to plantar fasciitis, but I want to build up my activity levels.

JimiChoux · 15/05/2023 05:50

aibutohavethisusername · 15/05/2023 05:55

I’d like to join in too please.

HollyGolightly4 · 15/05/2023 06:25

Morning everyone.

Being brave- 15st start point.

Do you weigh in weekly or daily?

MegCleary · 15/05/2023 06:52

Morning 10st 8 starting weight.

HappiDaze · 15/05/2023 07:14

I'll join you but I can't do the weighing because I find it traumatic I know I'm about 13 stone though at least. Size 18 and 5'6'

I need to be more accountable. I've started using MFP again this week which helps.

I think maybe if I do the string thing around my waist that would work for me as per PP

Longwhiskers · 15/05/2023 07:15

Very timely as I was going to start today! Going on holiday in 6/7 weeks. I already do around 10000 + steps a day but I’m going to add some strength workouts - I’m on the Courtney black app and there is a new 28 day challenge starting. Also calorie counting has worked in the past so I’m going to do that at 1400 calories a day.
starting weight : 152.8 lbs

Choufleuretbattenberg · 15/05/2023 07:21

Hi, Im going to join in too. I have 30kg to lose - and a holiday in July booked. Obviously can't drop 30kg by then but ANYTHING would be an improvement. I'm huge and unattractive. I've bought some low cal meals for dinner this week and soup for lunch. I must not snack! Help me please?

HappiDaze · 15/05/2023 07:25

For breakfast I'll be having

Coffee with milk and sweeteners
Wholemeal toast x 2 with butter and marmalade

This comes to 333 calories

Not sure re lunch probably pitta bread with hummus, tomato and lettuce

I desperately need to cut the carbs though I find this the most difficult as I get so hungry otherwise but I do love a chicken salad esp now we're coming out of winter

I have left over Thai green chicken curry I'll probably eat for dinner with rice or just on its own

HappiDaze · 15/05/2023 07:26

I'm going to input the Thai green curry I made onto MFP

HollyGolightly4 · 15/05/2023 07:28

A boiled egg is my go to no carb food!

chargrill · 15/05/2023 07:32

I will join you. I don't have scales as I have a history of poor relationship with food, and yoyo dieting. But probably around 3 stone to lose. I find it so very hard to cut down without feeling deprived and sabotaging any weight loss. I can't carry on like this though.

HappiDaze · 15/05/2023 07:34

738 calories for the Thai curry and rice

Yes I have eggs and salad items

So boiled eggs in salad would be good actually

I'll need to rethink todays meals to see how I can cut down

I only eat when I feel hunger pangs

BeastOfBODMAS · 15/05/2023 07:36

I will join you please. I have lost loads of weight with MFP in the past but not quite ready to weigh/calorie count again.

For now, I’m not going to binge eat today, and will write down everything I eat.
I have completed 2 days like this so far and made some better choices.

Longwhiskers · 15/05/2023 07:44

@Choufleuretbattenberg maybe one way to try it is to build snacks into your day rather than completely denying yourself them which takes W lot of willpower. Are there any ‘healthy’ snacks you like that will fit within your calorie target? Mine are crunchy Braeburn apple with peanut butter, sugar snap peas with a blob of houmus and small spicy rice cakes with houmus. Or one of those flavoured veggie rice cakes with cream cheese. I go for crunchy stuff as I miss the crunch of crisps etc!

aibutohavethisusername · 15/05/2023 07:48

I’m calorie counting too start weight is 236lbs.

HappiDaze · 15/05/2023 07:49

I don't like the idea of snacks at all but I'll class an apple as a normal item of food to eat between meals

I don't eat biscuits or have a sweet tooth (unless bizarrely I try a strict diet and I get massive sugar cravings)

I which case a coffee with sweetners does the trick for me or a can of Pepsi max no caffeine at a push ( but I can no longer buy these as DS just drinks them all )

JimiChoux · 15/05/2023 07:57

I was worried that no one would come back to this thread but here you are. Thanks for joining me.

My plan is to get through today without stuffing my face. I am going to start taking vitamins and drinking water.

onthefence23 · 15/05/2023 08:01

God yes please! I've piled on 20lbs following a bereavement. Not masses I suppose but the rate at which the scale is going up is alarming.

Daily chocolate and fizzy drinks is my main culprit, terrible for the teeth too!!
