I've really let myself go and I am sick of feeling so bad.

Starting tomorrow.

How have everyone's days been?

We had cakes at work- I decided to have one small one- and calorie count (105 kcal French Fancy 🤣). I've only had boiled egg, fruit and salad apart from that, so I'm thinking it's ok.

My goal is to stay under 1,200 (I'm not counting the exercise ones). So far 🤞

I've done 13000 steps too.

Nowillpowerarall · 15/05/2023 17:30

I feel starving!
I had oatbran for breakfast, with chia seeds, wheat brand, soya milk.
Chicken and salad wholemeal wrap for lunch
2 satsumas for snack and a fibre one cake.
2 cups of tea.
Waiting for my dinner to be cooked!

Nowillpowerarall · 15/05/2023 17:31

I'm calorie counting, aiming for 12 to 1400

Watchkeys · 15/05/2023 17:37

How will you sustain such a low calorie limit long term, @Nowillpowerarall ? Isn't that starving yourself? Healthy, slim people don't eat so little.

Nowillpowerarall · 15/05/2023 17:48

I thought that was about right? Happy to havr more!

Watchkeys · 15/05/2023 17:52

Where on earth did you get the information that 1200 - 1400 kcal per day is right for a woman?

Giselletheunicorn · 15/05/2023 18:01

I did my gym induction and am feeling quite positive. I have avoided the lure of chocolate thus far. (I have a very bad sugar habit and I'm a week into using Slimpod to try and wean myself off sugar. Definitely eating less of it, although bit of a relapse on Saturday at a Eurovision night at my friends house....)

Giselletheunicorn · 15/05/2023 18:05

@jamdan21 do you have an iPhone. The 'Health' app already on your iPhone can track steps.

learning2fly · 15/05/2023 18:14

Weighing in at 13st 9lbs which makes me very overweight.. not been a great day today food wise. Do ok until I get home from work.... Will try harder tomorrow

gingerperil · 15/05/2023 18:26

I am on 1578 cals a day and get extra with exercise.. normally do 10k steps each day so that’s an extra 250 ish.. . that’s to lose 0.5 a week but if I stick to that is normally far more.. leaves me dreading to think how much I would eat on an average day!! And to be honest 1800 is still a struggle. Not a great start here but sick child and no sleep = less will power

RuthTopp · 15/05/2023 18:44

I've eaten all my calories for the day - Boo !

jamdan21 · 15/05/2023 19:16

@Giselletheunicorn No i phone but I have added the step tracker to my samsung phone this morning and did 812 steps.

HollyGolightly4 · 15/05/2023 19:18

I think that's about right to lose weight! 2000 is recommended generally

It doesn't work like that! The body can do all kinds of things with a calorie deficit other than use up its fat. A calorie in = a calorie out is nonsense. If you eat a protein calorie, a third of it is used up to make it into available energy/fat. If you eat a carb calorie, 10% of it is used to make it available. If you eat a fat calorie, 3% is used to make it available. So if you eat a meal with carbs, fats and proteins in it, how can you tell what you actually have available to use or store?

sociallydistained · 15/05/2023 20:38

Tracked everything, tried to be slower and mindful when I ate and ended the day on just under 1700 cals which I've happy about. 10k steps. I know just a week of reigning it in and I'll feel better.

misspositivepants · 15/05/2023 20:42

Finished the day on 12k steps; prior to this I’d struggle to meet my 8k steps! So breaking it down into 3 shorter walks definitely works for me. And 1700 cals wanted a bit less than that to bank some for the weekend, but nonetheless all logged, with high calorie ‘stuff’ weighed.

HappiDaze · 15/05/2023 21:02

I'm around 1640 cals which is more than I'd planned but I am feeling completely full and not hungry at all as dinner ended up being Spaghetti bolognaise with a bit of cheddar on top

I can't drink alcohol reallyunless I'm out out because it just makes me ravenous and I want to eat everything in site esp if I've had red wine

Choufleuretbattenberg · 15/05/2023 21:11

I've managed the day with veggie soup, a small piece of chicken and then a low cal meal. Starving and miserable, and fat at the same time. How long before I get used to this level of hunger?

PhoenixArisen · 15/05/2023 21:19

My day was ok.
Had lentil and spinach soup with some naan bread.
A spoon of peanut butter.
Some melon
Chicken and spinach for dinner.
I've now just munched on home made popcorn. Why did I have to eat that? Grrr.
9000 steps
I'll do a 1 minute plank before bed.

Throughalookingglass · 15/05/2023 21:35

I thought my day was ok. So ok that I went out for a coffee and biscuit. Then absentmindedly I ate a chocolate croissant and some more biscuits.

When calculated what I ate, I got a big shock. No wonder I’ve put i up p two stones! I’m going to be more mindful from now on. So a false start for me today. I know now that I either change what I eat for my main meals or cut out all sugar completely.

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 05:42

I'm awake and hungry

What to eat, what to eat.

I'm home today so not rushing out to work and skipping breakfast as per usual

Maybe 2 scrambled eggs on a slice of toast or toast and marmalade but I'll need 2 slices as just the one slice did not work yesterday.

Maybe marmalade for breakfast and scrambled eggs for lunch. Decisions, decisions Smile

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 05:43

Also I've decided I don't want to spend lots of money on diet items I'm going to stick to eating less of what I'd normally have in with a few tweaks

HappiDaze · 16/05/2023 06:19

Came downstairs and the kitchen window had been left open all night so a bit nippy but smells super fresh. Who knows I might find a fox or neighbours cat curled up somewhere later

I ate a slice of leftover Spanish omelette / frittata without even thinking because it was just there and a thick slice of wholemeal bread with a dollop of marmalade for breakfast along with tea and coffee to follow both with milk.

Well I don't feel hungry anymore so hopefully that'll last till lunch if not then I'll have an apple. I love apples, more than biscuits. I don't feel full though.

I might go for a walk later

MegCleary · 16/05/2023 06:48

are we doing weekly/ daily weigh ins? I am down 400g from yesterday am! (A big poo!) but it make me 10/7 not 10/8 so motivating. Aiming breakfast lunch dinner. Ready brek and raspberries, breakfast. Cheese and lettuce wrap lunch. Pasta cheese sauce dinner and 10000 steps. Did 11000 yesterday but did eat 1/3 yogurt by by accident as tasting them with the kids and didn’t want to start tonnes of questions. Keep going gang

NerrSnerr · 16/05/2023 07:23

I try to weigh most days as it keeps me eating better. I'm really trying to do it properly this time, by not crash dieting but making healthy, changes to my diet and cooking from scratch. When I restrict food groups or have my calories too low I get too hungry. I'll still calorie count but not get too stressed over it. I try and do exercise classes most days too.
