Ozempic - For those of us a few months in

Hi all, thought I would create a designated space outside of the newbie zone for those of us who are in it for the long haul and are a few doses, stone, months down the road.

Good plan!

Lndnmummy · 17/03/2023 16:09

Thanks so much for joining @AgathaMystery! I'm going to giving 1mg a try again on Sunday. I habe been on 0.75mg for ages and not seemed able to tolerate 1mg. But will try again.

Lost 11kg since January so nice and steady, though not linear. I have had a plateau for two weeks and keen to get moving again.

You might not thank me - I just leaped in but I take saxenda! We’re in the same boat though!

I’ve lost 11kg as well. Currently struggling to titrate up but feeling a bit hungry so need to.

BalloonArch · 17/03/2023 16:17

Great idea!
I'm about 10 weeks in, 17lbs down ( lots more to go).
Absolutely no side effects and I'm quite happy at 0.5 so I'll continue there as long as I can. 0.5 seems to require a bit of willpower still so it's probably very good for me.

nellyelloe · 17/03/2023 17:07

Hi all
So I'm 3 months in, on 1mg from my juniper and haven't lost anything Confused. It just doesn't have any impact on me so far. I need to increase the dose but of course my juniper only goes up to 1mg.
Where else can I get it from at a higher dose? X

orangelotus · 17/03/2023 17:21

Hello !,
Nice to see you all.

Athena51 · 17/03/2023 17:44

Thanks @Lndnmummy the other thread is great but it's getting filled up with similar questions and requests for discount codes. All good but nice to have a place for "old hands" as it were!

I'm over a year in and 5 stone down. It's been life changing for me.

Hopefully the anti brigade will keep their sanctimonious and unwelcome beaks out as well.

HolibobsinApril · 17/03/2023 17:47

Thanks @Lndnmummy

I'm just about to start week 8 - down 15lbs.

Do you count calories? Are you exercising?

And you have lost nothing at all? Do you have much to lose?

Maybe it just doesn't work for some. Very strange.

Lndnmummy · 17/03/2023 17:59

Hey and welcome everyone. Really glad to have this space for queries, support etc that are applicable for long term users. @Athena51 that is amazing!! A huge well done. How are you feeling a year in?

I am so so grateful for Ozempic. If anyone is ever keen on some glorious recepies a friend of mine has a wonderful instagram account. She is a GP, a dietician AND she is very supportive of Ozempic. In fact she encouraged me.

Athena51 really good to know that it keeps working as my weight loss has slowed down, although that's likely down to some slip ups on my part!

Still, my size 14 jeans that I couldn't do up when I started are starting to be loose on the waist!!

Manual supply the higher doses but you will need to explain your usage to date. I have a 50% discount code which might help.

tregunamekoidestrecorumsatisdee · 17/03/2023 18:54

This thread is great thanks the old one is all just newbies asking for discount codes lately. I suppose I am semi - new, injection 7 tonight and 23lbs down.

MuMuMuuuum · 17/03/2023 19:01

Thank you for starting this thread!

I'm on week 6 so relatively new but the other thread was filling up with similar questions and discount codes. 6th injection for me tomorrow, really happy with it so far.

Higher than 1mg dose? I thought only wegovy will go higher than 1mg?

Peridot1 · 17/03/2023 22:13

Thanks for the thread @Lndnmummy.

I am a year in and three stone down.

I haven’t been taking it too seriously lately as I was away for a month. But I’m getting back into it now. Will weigh tomorrow and see what the damage is.

I’ve just upped my dose to 0.75 twice a week.

@alwayscheery - are you sure? Ozempic only comes in pens of 0.25, 0.5 and 1. Wegovy will be higher doses but isn’t available yet.

alwayscheery · 17/03/2023 22:16

Let me check again . I did look on the website.

orangelotus · 17/03/2023 22:23

welcome back peridot
hope you had a wonderful time
i'm
heading to OZ in 2 weeks as well was really hoping to be in the overweight category by then but perhaps not.

Peridot1 · 17/03/2023 22:33

Thanks @orangelotus. I had a fabulous time. Word of warning though - I think we drank all the wine! There may be a shortage! Grin. Unfortunately being on Ozempic hasn’t stopped me being able to drink wine.

How far have you got to go to be in the overweight category? It’s a great feeling to get there and not see obese.

they've got two weeks to restock thankfully!!!
i'm sure you'll have left a little! You sound like a generous person!!
And your weight loss story has been so good to read about .
where in Australia were you?
i'm very short so just to edge into the overweight category i still need to lose another 5lbs. i doubt that will happen in the time left but so grateful to be losing at at all.
it was my daughter's wedding last year and when i saw the photos of me i cried so i'm just grateful that this is helping me move in the right direction

RumNotRun · 17/03/2023 23:30

Another oldie joining if that's ok. I am on my second (or maybe 3rd?) week of 1mg. I have plateaued for the last few weeks which is irritating. I could explain the first few weeks cause I stayed at my dad's one weekend (lots of alcohol), ate badly the next week, cocktails the week after...Last week and this week I've been really careful though, no alcohol, no crap. I'm just stuck at 2-3lbs over a stone. Getting into the next stone bracket would be such an achievement but my body is being stubborn!

I have lost 20lbs (maybe a bit more) though so I need to keep that in mind. Also I've been a bit constipated so hopefully once things...get moving, I might see a loss again.

orangelotus · 18/03/2023 08:36

Rumnorum
same i just hover at or above 12stones(. Just waiting to drop into the 11 zone which would be such a boost.
I had my third 1mg this week.
So really over the past few weeks i am just seeing the scale vary from dead on 12 to 12 3/4 but i am taking the 12 as my current weight.
I have definitely upped the steps the past couple of weeks
I am not snacking and portion sizes are really half what i used to have.
I just hope this is a plateau and i'll see progress again soon.

Peridot1 · 18/03/2023 08:38

@orangelotus - I was mainly in and around Sydney but went down to Adelaide for a weekend to visit a friend. They are just starting to bring in the grapes down in the Barossa so you may be lucky with wine! Grin

Fingers crossed you lose a bit more before you go. Getting into the overweight category would be a huge boost I know but even a small loss will be good I’m sure. Drink lots of water. Cut carbs. Up your proteins. Get out for some walks if you can.

I have just weighed and am totally gobsmacked to see not only did I not gain I actually lost! Only 0.3 of a pound but I am really surprised. And very pleased. I ate out a lot but either shared a meal or didn’t finish it. Did have quite a few ice creams and cakes although again often shared a cake. I find the food in Australia can be so different to here in that it’s so easy to find nice fresh food and Asian fusion type things that are some much healthier than eating out here. When eating in we had a lot of meat with salad and a couple of potatoes type meals.

@RumNotRun - it’s frustrating to stick but very common. A lot of people found that injecting 0.5 twice a week was more effective than 1mg once a week. I’m not sure why but it definitely worked better for me.
