I had reached my goal weight (normal BMI, after losing 24% of my starting weight) in December 22, and took my last Oz just before Christmas. I didn't want to continue with it as I don't take any other medication at the age of 52, so didn't want to set a precedent. Also, the cost was not justified any more.
I noticed that for about a month I felt exactly the same as when on the medication, probably still had a lot in my system (had been taking it for 11 months). Then I started feeling more hungry, or rather, eating without an "off switch". I had to stop and think about quantities in advance of meal times, which I didn't need to during Oz. Even so, I allowed myself to freely enjoy several (quite a few, almost every weekend!) family/friend occasions in Jan and Feb, meaning alcohol and desserts/cakes, when I am ordinarily on low carb. When I finally weighed myself on the 1st March, I'd put on 3 kgs, still within normal BMI (just about!), and one of them is already gone now that I went back to proper higher protein+veg, low carb IF plan that I know works for me.
On the whole, I am very happy that I used Ozempic as it allowed me to reach normal BMI for the first time in my adult life. Taking it helped me to entrench a habit of healthier eating that I can return to even when I stray for a day/weekend. I would recommend it to anyone who has a lot of weight to lose, but just as another tool in the box, not as a magic wand. You still have to put in the work of learning to eat healthily and sustainably.
