Has anyone tried Slimpod?

Just wondered if it works? I only have about a stone and a half to shift, but it's just proving very difficult - my self-control is shot.

I've just signed up to the 10 day trial today, it seems too good to be true! I'm definitely an emotional eater and snack too much so if I can just crack that element and drop a dress size that would make such a difference. I'm tired of feeling podgy!

ButterfliesnWaterfalls · 14/05/2023 11:52

I’m tempted to sign up for the trial so that I start tomorrow (Monday) officially 🌝 I need to stop eating sugar and exercise more 😩 Hopefully this is a step in the right direction!

pumpkintits · 15/05/2023 22:49

I signed up and I'm on Week 5. I haven't weighed myself but tried on a pair of jeans that only just did up, they no longer do up 😭 however I do recognise that my food choices over the past 2/3 weeks haven't been great.

Slimpod does seem to have helped me with my urge to binge, I haven't had that strong physical want to stuff myself with carbs since I started, and I've also started exercising a small amount on random days. I do think I'm going to go back to calorie counting just to try and get a grip on my portion sizes and snacking and keep listening to the pods as I think they have made a difference when it comes to binging.

Seriouslymole · 16/05/2023 10:56

So I'm still here! Haven't lost any weight, but haven't put any on either despite a two-week holiday since I started and a few blow-outs. I am still struggling with portion control and feeling hunger cues, but I am not eating in the evening at all any more and I have started running again. I'm sticking with it. I do need to be more mindful of watching the vids though.

This is coming up as unavailable.

It's a news report about the fact that Sandra Roycroft-Davis is married to Chris R-D who used to be an editor of The Sun newspaper, David Cameron's speech writer and has played some kind of part in Sky; and that Trevor Silvester used to be in the Police Force where he and others pioneered a NLP and Hypnosis program to help students get more out of their studies whilst at Hendon.

Not entirely sure what real meaning the news report has to do with how Slimpod works for individuals such as us, as it seems to be a journalist slating Chris R-D and commenting on what Silvester used to do before Slimpod?

Inkpotlover · 24/05/2023 08:13

Comeshinewithme · 16/05/2023 09:28

That sounds like the rantings of someone with an axe to grind and it's badly researched too. A cursory Linkedin check shows that Chris Roycroft-Davis worked at The Sun between 1995 and 2005, so years before they gave Slimpod a plug. In fact, in 2012 he wasn't in newspapers at all – he had his own company training CEOs on how to address the media.

Inkpotlover · 24/05/2023 08:15

That blog post was also published in 2012! Not sure why an article that's over a decade old and is factually incorrect would put you off, but hey ho.

HowcanIgetoutofthisalive · 12/06/2023 22:43

Anyone still around on this?

I'm 40 days in, listening to the slim pod, sugar pod and alcohol pod.

Lost nothing.

I'm reading ultra processed people atm and feel this is making me think more about eating whole foods and losing the junk and sugar more than slimpod?!

Is this yet another rubbish weighloss scheme?? It doesn't seem to be working for me!

Seriouslymole · 12/06/2023 22:53

No - me either - no weight loss - although in fairness I have totally stopped eating in the evening and lost the taste for most sweet stuff - but well over three months in and no actual weight loss. I am also getting v fed up with the amount of emails I am getting telling me how very concerned they are that I haven’t signed up to Slimpod extra…

OP posts:
Picoloangel · 13/06/2023 07:04

I have still been doing it - just finished. I haven’t lost a dramatic amount of weight - 4 lbs - but only wanted to lose about 1/2 a stone anyway.

I’m exercising much more but to be fair I am very motivated with that anyway.

I’m seeing it as a slow and steady thing and to be be fair I don’t always listen to the pod every day or so all of the things like writing wins down etc so I’m going to focus on doing that.

pumpkintits · 13/06/2023 07:08

I'm on week 9, didn't actually weigh myself before I started because I didn't want to see that number. Still haven't weighed myself but the jeans I have hanging up that were so tight I could barely breathe are still so tight I can barely breathe 😭

I have completely stopped binge eating and started eating between 12-8 the past week so I'm hoping this helps.

Annoying to hear that there are a lot of emails about slimpod extra, the way slimpod is marketed is that you pay for the 3 months and then you have it forever and don't pay any more, I don't want constant emails hassling me to sign up to something!

HowcanIgetoutofthisalive · 13/06/2023 09:05

so out of 4 of us - @Seriouslymole @Picoloangel @pumpkintits and me, only 1 of us has actually lost weight. Well done @Picoloangel !!

Interesting that you've found other things have happened though; i.e. stopped binge eating/trying out fasting/exercising more/losing the sweet craving...

I think I've got a more focused view on food tbf. i.e. before, everytime I'd go to the kitchen I'd always think 'what can i nibble on' without even wondering if I was actually hungry or not whereas now, i can be in the kitchen and not give food a 2nd thought so maybe this is the way Slimpod works?

I've yet to finish the Slimpod Gold and have been impressed with the email information but hmmm....not impressed at the thought of them pressurising you with constant emails for the Extra element...

I'll carry on for the full 12 weeks and see where it gets me! Thanks for the feedback. 😊

Picoloangel · 13/06/2023 09:18

I’m not doing the extra course. For me my mindset has definitely shifted and I think the rest of it will be done to me. For example, I’m really good at mela prepping for work days but tend to neglect that when I’m not working stuff like that I still need to work on.

canigetitmyself · 13/06/2023 12:43

I started in Jan and have continued with extra although I think ill cancel now.

I don't think Extra adds anything really. I listen most days to the pods

I haven't lost a huge amount of weight although im hopeful that i will over time

Recently went on an all inclusive holiday and just went straight back to normal eating again once home. No weight gain. In the past, id have been on a strict diet leading up to holiday and would have been on a mega binge since getting home

My mindset has changed. I've stopped dieting and focus more on nutrition and health. I feel more motivated to move. The exercise pod has had a good impact on me

hollyhocksinthegarden · 13/06/2023 13:36

I’ve just finished the 3 months and have lost 5 and 1/2 lbs without feeling any restrictions at all. That is fine as only have about 8 to lose.

I listen to the basic pod every day but haven’t used the others much as I’m already quite active and don’t have an especially sweet tooth.

What I did have a problem with is basically being greedy ,loving to cook, having large servings, eating it all and having seconds. Now I don’t seem to feel the need to eat so much and even when I do have a meal with friends etc I seem to be able to go back to being moderate the next day as I just don’t feel as hungry any more.

I don’t think I’ll be paying for any of the extras and I haven’t listened to all the videos yet as I mostly know what she is going to say anyway but I do plan to carry on with listening and hope it has changed my way of thinking .

canigetitmyself · 13/06/2023 14:24

I still have a problem with clearing my plate and finishing everything

I eat too fast so need to work on that

VimtoVimto · 30/06/2023 15:48

I’m interested in this but wonder if you can listen to the pod at any time or do you need to do it at night?

popflos · 30/06/2023 19:12

Any time. I arrive places ten mins early, park and listen in the car before I go in. But actually now I’ve lost the weight I need to focus on the booze and I’ve found Adam cox on Spotify. All kinds of half hour hypnosis stuff. It may work. Or it may just be a Power Nap.

VimtoVimto · 30/06/2023 20:02

Thanks

doorstopper123 · 01/07/2023 08:39

Lots of people listen in bed at night and fall
Asleep listening

hollyhocksinthegarden · 01/07/2023 12:10

I listen in the morning when I wake up but still feel dozy.

Picoloangel · 12/07/2023 07:41

I started SlimPod a while ago and lost a little bit. I wasn’t really doing everything I was supposed to be doing so decided to start again from scratch. I’m listening to the pod every night rewatching the videos etc and (when I remember) recording my wins. Put a dress on yesterday I haven’t worn since the beginning of the year and it felt v loose. Weighed myself this morning for the first time in ages and since the beginning of the year I’ve lost about 10 pounds. I haven’t been doing SlimPod all that time but have been since about beginning of March. Since starting afresh I am eating smaller portions and not really thinking about food etc. I also haven’t been going to the gym as much as usual because I’ve been v busy with other stuff. Usually not going to the gym makes me really worry about eating etc and sometimes can trigger me to “give up” but this time I’ve just been confident that I’ll go back when I can etc.
