Has anyone tried Slimpod?

Just wondered if it works? I only have about a stone and a half to shift, but it's just proving very difficult - my self-control is shot.

Just to add I’m on Day 3 and have stopped eating crap! I am pretty good about exercising but have regained my sweet tooth in recent months but it’s disappearing. 🤔

I've done the 12 weeks, all you do is listen to a few videos and a kind of self hypnosis track which i do whenever I can and combine with a power nap. I've lost the stone I've been trying to lose for 3 years. i am chuffed to bits. i did also manage to work out more than ever and cut down massively on my booze. the slimpod definitely helped with all that. just wondering now whether to continue to the next phase, anyone done that? slimpod extra i think she calls it.

I finished my 12 weeks about November time. I debated whether to subscribe to extra (£9 a month I think), but in the end decided not to bother. I still listen to the pod every night and occasionally dip into the fb page and the videos. But i was reluctant to spend any more money. I have continued to lose weight. I'm almost where I want to be . (Gone from size 18/20 to 10/12 and lost just over 4 stone). I have never felt so in control of my eating habits.

Seriouslymole · 25/03/2023 10:27

@popflos @Babana123 well done to both of you - delighted for you. I am on week three (I think?) lost track somewhat - and think it is working well. DS was at a sleepover last night and asked if he could “borrow Trevor” in case he got stressed about not sleeping - I obviously sent him with the chillpod not the slim pod!

I am getting back to running and am doing the 7 minute workouts - it is going well. I am trying not to weigh myself but it’s so deeply ingrained. Anyway, I will not weigh now for a few weeks.

Good morning all, by way of an update, I am now on Day 12 and eating very differently. Not recording wins etc just listening to the pod every night. It’s definitely working. Used to have crisps every day and that’s stopped. I am v active generally, walk apt and go to gym but am doing a bit more and have stopped eating sweet stuff or craving it. I don’t have much weight to lose but needed to get back to smaller portions and turn off my sweet tooth which had been turned on over Christmas. I was making cakes and eating chocolate and it’s all stopped. It feels odd not to be keeping a good diary, weighing myself etc but I’m just trusting that eating less and moving more will work. How can it not?!

EastAngle · 09/04/2023 20:46

Just joined, I’ve tried every diet under the sun. I had some success last year with intermittent fasting and low carb but it all went to pot at Christmas and I’ve put so much weight back on. I am getting so desperate and unhappy with myself as I’ve started to avoid going out unless I have to (work, school run etc). I’m starting tomorrow so will listen tonight. It does look positive, the only thing I’m disappointed in is it looks like they rely heavily on Facebook. Not on Facebook and have no intention of joining, hope this doesn’t impede the plan.

user50and · 11/04/2023 06:50

I downloaded the free 10 day trial last night but am already confused! Do I listen to the same one each night until the next pod comes out? I listened to Slimpod for Weightloss and a Chillpod last night but when I've looked this morning there isn't a new one there to listen to?

Picoloangel · 11/04/2023 07:17

@user50and you listen to the same one each day. 😊

user50and · 11/04/2023 11:26

Thank you 🙂

pumpkintits · 12/04/2023 18:30

I have just signed up to this and listened to my first pod last night, after reading this thread!

I struggle with binge eating and just want to eat like a "normal person" instead of food being an all consuming thought. I've been calorie counting for 3 weeks now with no binges so so far so good. I know that you shouldn't calorie count as you need to learn to trust your body to tell you when you're full, but I'm afraid that if I don't track I will have a little bit of this and a little bite of that and it all adds up. Does anyone still track calories, even loosely?

Picoloangel · 12/04/2023 21:53

@pumpkintits There are really good videos re how years of dieting - counting calories, low fat foods etc etc cannot be undone overnight. I am catching up on a lot of the videos but they’re good and encourage thinking in a different way. Good luck!

LazyLeopard · 11/05/2023 10:46

Hi guys, how are you all getting on? @Babana123 Do you still think it's worth it?

Bit random - I'm on day 9 of my 10 day trial, and I was wondering if there was an alcohol part of the proper subscription?

HowcanIgetoutofthisalive · 11/05/2023 11:12

Hi @LazyLeopard . I signed up and I'm on Day 10 today.

I don't think they give anything specific for alcohol? I've not seen anything yet anyway. Good luck

LazyLeopard · 11/05/2023 11:15

Thanks @HowcanIgetoutofthisalive !

How are you finding it? I realised I hadn't watched any of the videos, so I'm working my way through those while I work. I can't decide if it's just a coincidence or not, but I can tell the difference when it comes to my automatic reaching for food times (happy/sad/bored/time of day)

HowcanIgetoutofthisalive · 11/05/2023 12:32

@LazyLeopard
I'm feeling much more positive and don't have the usual 'but what if I fail' kind of feeling that I always have when I embark on a weightloss scheme!

I have noticed a reduction in the need to snack. EG, Mon-Fri I eat breakfast at 7.30am and have lunch at 12 and previously I've been snacking around 11am on a biscuit or bag of crisps but this last few days I've not felt the need to reach for anything.

I want to be able to stop thinking about food 24/7. Thinking 'what's for dinner?' etc and I'm finding, so far, that the Slimpod has helped with that. fingers crossed!

I need to watch week 2 vids as not seen any yet

I still have no regrets. I have lost about 4.5 stone now. I stopped paying after 3 months so have only spent £99 in total.

I think you can purchase an alcohol pod. You will be told more about other pods you can purchase as you progress.

I haven't paid for any extra pods. In fact the only two I listen to are Slimpod and Exercise pod. Both when I am going to sleep at night.

LazyLeopard · 11/05/2023 12:48

@HowcanIgetoutofthisalive yes, I'm similar with the snacking - no 3.30pm brew and biscuit this week! I still think a lot about food!

@Babana123 this is just bloody amazing! I don't really know what to say. It's just fantastic.

Picoloangel · 11/05/2023 14:07

I’m on about week 9. Eating completely normally after years of logging my food, checking my macros (!) and it’s liberating.
Ate all the stuff I would usually consider “naughty” last weekend but had no difficulty at all in just carrying on as normal, eating healthily after the weekend. I haven’t weighed myself but definitely eating differently and more active.

slowly working my way through the videos and agree they are good. Also generally listening to the pod every day.

I don’t have much to lose but the liberation from My Fitness Pal and trying to out run “bad” foods etc has is v v noticeable. I’m a convert!

It is liberating isn't it? I used nutracheck to log everything but not touched it for 10 days...im free!! Haha.

@Babana123 absolutely incredible. I hope I can come back to this board in months to come and say I've been equally as successful!

Inkpotlover · 13/05/2023 07:51

@LazyLeopard There is an Alcohol Pod which you get offered after you’ve reached a certain point in the programme, I can’t remember exactly when. It’s really good too - it doesn’t train you to stop drinking completely but you just naturally want to stop after one or maybe two drinks!

LazyLeopard · 13/05/2023 08:25

@Inkpotlover judging by last night, that’s exactly what I need!

It definitely works! It's the one pod I still occasionally listen to and I rarely have more than two glasses in a sitting now.

Wow, 4.5 stone is an amazing loss! Well done!

It's so liberating to be off the diet treadmill, isn't it! When I first responded to this thread my comment was it hadn't worked for me, but I think it actually has. Something has clicked deep down. I've think I've lost about a stone since Jan - I don't weigh myself any longer – because I've lost about three inches from around my waist.

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoBy · 13/05/2023 16:58

I'm only on week 2 and Ive definitely noticed the change in my appetite- much less thinking about food and a lot less snacking. Ive lost 6lb but more than anything it's such a relief to ditch the calorie counting/ inputting everything into an app!! It's like someone upthread said - all that inputting makes you constantly think about food!! I find slimpod very liberating.

That's fantastic @Inkpotlover
Would love to get into that mindset where you just don't realise you're losing weight!

And ditto @LazyLeopard I definitely need the alcohol pod after last night! 🤣
