I can't put it off much longer, I am getting very large and uncomfortable. My eating has become very out of control.

I need to shift around 4 stone, not sure exactly as I am to scared to get on the scales.

Anyone want to join me for a big new start and weigh in on Sunday 1st January?

@KathyBurke me too, I find excuses not to do stuff and I need to stop it!

KathyBurke · 31/12/2022 13:49

@Eggsley it's raining here at the moment and the thought of getting outside for exercise makes me want to vomit 😂 but if I don't put the effort in things aren't going to change. I feel so fat and unfit and really fed up with it. It's got to change.

Boysnme · 31/12/2022 13:50

Me! I need to loose 1-2 stone. I have a very good friends wedding in May so that’s my aim.

Would love company along the way!

reallyhatewinter · 31/12/2022 13:52

I'm in! I need to lose about 1.5 stone. I know it's doable if I set my mind to it, I just need to get into the right head space.

I start back at work on the 3rd so I'm giving myself off until then.

I may also try and do dry Jan after the 1st as I'll be having some bubbles tomorrow.

I also desperately need to start going back to the gym. On Monday I'm going to have a good look at me in the mirror in underwear which will convince me to do ahead, take a pic to remind me of progress and do some measurements. I can then track how I'm going.

Can cheese be frozen? If so - I may do that to stop me from cheating on my diet!

Eggsley · 31/12/2022 13:53

@KathyBurke yes it's raining here too. Can't think of anything worse than going outside to exercise at the moment. It changes from tomorrow!

I have been moving around inside today though, cleaning like a mad woman as we have friends coming over tonight. Hopefully that will burn some calories.

Bit nervous for tomorrow's weigh in, I've not weighed myself for months but I know my jeans are too tight.

IDontCareMatthew · 31/12/2022 14:28

Just started a new job and uniform is a tad tight!! Hate uniforms!!!

Mumstheword2022 · 31/12/2022 15:00

@JoyPeaceSleep

will do. Very early days I’m told. Some say it can take weeks or even months to feel any difference.

been a bit scared of it to be fair! Only on one pump of the gel which seems low compared to most.

Feel flabby! It’s unpleasant and my work clothes will be tight; that in itself might be actually motivating

berrylands · 31/12/2022 15:27

I'm in! 1.5 st to lose.

Southernbellas · 31/12/2022 15:54

Looking forward to tomorrow and a positive start. Have a tesco delivery arriving tonight which has loads of salads and good stuff for lunches. Hoping posting here will keep me motivated and on track!

rumbypumby · 31/12/2022 15:55

KathyBurke · 31/12/2022 13:45

@rumbypumby you lost 7 stone. That's so impressive. You can be our leader.

Haha, I'm flattered!
But I haven't kept it off so maybe not 😬

I started 6th Jan 2019 and had went from 20st 6lbs to 13st 4 lbs by the start of December. Then it all went tits up from there.

Here's hoping I can do it again. I know I physically can, it's just the mental battle now.

Ah you can do it! Use your snug uniform as a measuring tool.

I too had this a couple of years ago, my uniform was a bit tight, then I lost 4 stone and I had my uniform taken in!!! I couldn't quite believe it but it felt great!

What kick started it, was I was in work and I said out loud to myself really that my trousers felt a bit tight, and a colleague overheard me and said 'yeah, you've put some weight on haven you?'

I was mortified, and thought she was a bit rude, but she done me a massive favour and that made me even more determined.

DrunkenKoala · 31/12/2022 17:02

Can I tag along too please?
Back in April I weighed 15st 4lbs with a BMI of 30 (obese), I’m 5’10”. I started cutting back on the carbs and increased fruit and veg, I was also swimming 2kms a week and by Sept I was 14st 6.5lbs. Then it stagnated but I did feel as though I was toning up from all the swimming. I also bought a weighted hula hoop and started on that (if anyone is thinking about it it doesn’t hurt but it really bruises your midriff to start off with) . Unfortunately end of Nov things turned to shit a bit as I couldn’t get out to swimming as often and no space to hula (we’re currently having building work done and there’s just stuff everywhere) and my carbs intake increased. I’m hoping it’ll be just a few more weeks and then normality will return. Over the last few weeks I’ve put in 5lbs (but I am due my period so I’m hoping/kidding myself it’s just that).
I normally weigh myself on a Sunday morning so I’m happy to come along and chat afterwards, receive support, give support.
I’m aiming for another 4st off, which should give me a healthy BMI of 21/22 and be back inside 10-12 by the middle of 2024.

scaredysquiggle · 31/12/2022 17:05

I'm in. Need to lose a stone (and a half) will weigh in tomorrow

KathyBurke · 31/12/2022 17:07

@DrunkenKoala I like the sound of a weighted hula hoop. Not heard of them before. Is it difficult to do?

DrunkenKoala · 31/12/2022 17:18

@KathyBurke
As a child I used to hula quite a bit but on a lightweight plastic one and I could keep going for about 20 mins. My one now is rubber and it weighs 1kg. When I started I could probably go for 5 seconds but now I’m doing 45 seconds before it drops, really hoping to increase this to minutes in the NY. There are workouts in YouTube and some of them are going for 20mins on 2.5kg hoops 👏👏👏.
I got my hoop on Amazon, if your interested I’ll find the link and post it.

AandGMammy · 31/12/2022 17:18

I’m in as well. Lost 6 stone a decade ago but two kids and a pandemic later I think I’ve regained most of it at this stage. Onward and upward from tomorrow. Now I just need to check the scales still work!

mothertrucking · 31/12/2022 17:22

Can I join? I ideally would like to lose 2 stone.
My BMI is 27 😫

MGMidget · 31/12/2022 18:09

I would like to join too please! But planning to start on 2nd Jan as big social meal happening on 1st. My BMI is 26 and I hope to lose 1.5 to 2kg.

GlumShoe · 31/12/2022 18:18

Can I join, please? I graze all the time and I've been putting off doing something about it for ages because I love eating. I'm honestly just thinking about stapling my mouth shut. Anyway, I'd like to lose a stone by the end of June but I detest exercise. I can manage some yoga without dying and I have just scrapped my car, so I should be able to get some steps in.

Kaylisa · 31/12/2022 18:35

I want to join please. I have about 9 stone to lose to be healthy weight but would be happy with 6 to be honest.

IDontCareMatthew · 31/12/2022 19:17

@EddietheEagle I'd be mortified!!

My new colleagues are all massive snackers so I'm not going to pick up those habits!

Got a mountain of cheese and snacks to be rid of tonight

KathyBurke · 31/12/2022 21:37

@DrunkenKoala yes I'm definitely interested in a weighted hula hoop. I had a quick google earlier and they sell two different weighted ones in Argos. I think one was 1.5kg and the other 1.8kg. They also sell a non weighted one.

Bluevases · 31/12/2022 21:46

I’m in! I’m the fattest I’ve ever been and have 4-5 stone to lose. I’m going to use Noom to help me and try to up my exercise each day. All the Christmas food is now in the bin and I’m good to go. Good luck everyone!

stellarspiral · 31/12/2022 21:50

Yes please can I join too? At my all time heaviest. Need to lose 3 stone to be back at my best, healthy and comfortable weight. Scared to look at scales tomorrow but it's long overdue.

DrunkenKoala · 31/12/2022 22:42

@KathyBurke

This is mine, it is a 1.2kg hoop (heavier than I thought) clips together and pulls apart easily although I don’t bother taking it apart much.
