I can't put it off much longer, I am getting very large and uncomfortable. My eating has become very out of control.

I need to shift around 4 stone, not sure exactly as I am to scared to get on the scales.

Anyone want to join me for a big new start and weigh in on Sunday 1st January?

Right.. it's the first Jan ... we're off!

mothertrucking · 01/01/2023 00:48

Just finishing my last G&T and I'm ready to go.

learning2fly · 01/01/2023 00:53

Count me in!

Wagsandclaws · 01/01/2023 00:55

Can I join? I lost 6 plus stone over 4 years then this last 8 months have put in at least 2.5 stone of it back on again.

I've had some chronic health problems but I'm 51 at the end of the month ( on hrt too ) and I have a granddaughter due in June so I'd like to be where I'm healthy enough to run around with her a bit.

Due to menopause and being quite inactive ( due to health problems ) I have to go very low cal ( 800 - 1000 cals a day ) for anything to shift off me. Nurse told me that apparently hrt isn't great for weight gain too.

I have type 2 diabetes and the worst thing I can do is gain weight. Sadly my large weight loss didn't do anything to reduce my bloods but I've been in a crap eating mission for 8 months and put on lots of weight because of it. I'm also now on 40mg of citalopram which doesn't help things weight wise.

I will join you all, I will start today when I wake up ( I have rubbish insomnia too ) I'm pretty good at not eating till late in the day ( I don't do a clean fast as have coffee and tea ) but I usually do a 20/4 fast most days I just put far too much away in that eating window.

Happy new year to you all and here's to a healthier outlook 😊

falgelednl · 01/01/2023 01:22

Can I join?
I need to lose about 3 stone but really need to focus on making healthier choices, especially as I need to set an example to my children - DD2 is overweight too and I’m hoping she’ll get involved if I manage to add in a daily walk.
I’ve never actually dieted before but I need to cut down on the sugar, carbs, cheese and picking late at night - probably due to boredom, so planning on getting back to my writing rather than sitting passively in front of the TV.
I turned 50 in November and am menopausal too - neither of which helps!

IdisagreeMrHochhauser · 01/01/2023 02:04

Me please. Want to lose 1.5 - 2 stone.

Itssuzeimoverhere · 01/01/2023 04:18

Hi all
Am in Australia so we’ll into my first day, I’m 90kg and need to be 67kg for a normal BMI. I’m using Noom.
I only have about 100 calories left for dinner, I’m doomed.

DrunkenKoala · 01/01/2023 07:06

Happy New Year all.

Just weighed myself and 14st 13.75lbs. I’ve put in 4lbs since I last weighted myself on 11 Dec, (but some of that will be because my period is due).

I’ve got my Sainsbury’s delivery due this morning with healthier food on it and I’ve got a few swims booked in for this week. DD is back to school on Tuesday so will also be back to doing school run (via quite a steep hill) really looking forward to getting back to it.

Mommabear20 · 01/01/2023 08:24

Just weighed myself and am 11stone 😭😭 that means I've got 2 stone to lose! I want to do this by May, so I can treat myself to a new summer wardrobe! 🤞

sazzt · 01/01/2023 08:28

91.3kg. Would like to get to 70 but would be happy at 74 (my wedding weight!). First goal is 79 by Easter...💪 I'm wanting to increase my exercise but realistically I know that careful calorie tracking is the main tool to make a difference so I'm doing that too.

penguinstarcloud · 01/01/2023 09:12

Happy New Year everyone! Smile

Weigh in this morning...12 stone! I need to lose at least 1 1/2 stone to be a healthy weight.

My main thing is to try and stop the unhealthy snacking (usually lots of chocolate or sweets), and get more excercise. Let's do this!

grumpypug · 01/01/2023 09:27

Weighed in this morning at 92kg exactly. I'd like to lose 3kg by the end of January , which I think is doable (it's around 1/2 stone, I think).

TheHappiestChristmasTree · 01/01/2023 09:32

Rolling in to join you all. Got a couple of stone to shift as it's starting to affect my health now 😖

Going to the in-laws for new years dinner today, so after that I am knuckling down and getting on with it! I'm also starting on multivitamins and green tea capsules.

Will try to check in on here from time to time to hold myself accountable! Good luck all 💪🏻

learning2fly · 01/01/2023 09:38

Weighed in this morning at 84.9kg. Arghh. First goal is 80kg by end of January.

Eggsley · 01/01/2023 09:38

Morning all and happy new year. Let's hope 2023 is a good one!

Weight this morning is 13st 1.6lbs which is the heaviest I have ever been.

In the past I've hovered around 12st 7lbs at my heaviest. I am hoping that the first half stone will be relatively easy to drop but we'll see.

I'm officially starting on 3rd as that's when I'm back to work, but having a gentle start today and tomorrow - no alcohol, do some exercise, increase water intake, try not to eat crap, limit portion size.

Good luck everyone!

TomorrowAndTomorrowAndTomorrow · 01/01/2023 09:40

82.2kg, 12st13 this morning. I'm a shortarse so I need to be 61.6kg, 9st10 to be healthy... so only a small 20.6kg, 3st3 to lose 😫 anyway. Even halfway to that would be great. Good luck everybody.

Majorityofthree23 · 01/01/2023 09:40

Just weighed in at 167 lbs (scales only does lbs) but aiming for 144. Healthy eating, less snacking and more walking is my method. Feeling excited about a fresh start

MercuryRising · 01/01/2023 09:43

Happy New Year!! Please count me in. I weighed in at 12st 11.8 this morning. First target is 12st by the end of January. I am doing Dry January so hoping that will help 🙏

KathyBurke · 01/01/2023 09:48

Happy new year all

I weighed in at 12st 8 3/8. I've never weighed that much, not even at 9 months pregnant. Pretty upset to be honest but I'm taking control from today.

I am aiming to be 12st by the end of January.

comeon2023 · 01/01/2023 09:51

Joining! I'm 90kg and aiming to lose 10kg (1.5st) to get out of the "obese" BMI category

I'm cutting right down on carbs & sugar, no snacking in the evening after DC in bed, yoga/workout videos 3 mornings a week and cycling to work twice a week.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 01/01/2023 10:03

Can I join you? I need to lose about four stone. I have some specific plans this summer that I need to be fit and healthy for too.

I weighed yesterday and was absolutely heartbroken by the results. Hopefully that number will start coming down steadily soon. 🤞🏻

scaredysquiggle · 01/01/2023 10:11

Good luck everyone.

I've weighed in at 10st 10 and I'm short so need to lose 1.5 stone. I've been going to the gym daily since October so will be keeping that going. I haven't lost any weight but my body has changed shape so I need to look at what I'm eating. I'm stuck in my room and bed with Covid but I have my Pilates mat and apple fitness for as soon as I can get my head off my pillow. The headache is awful. At least I can't visit the fridge or the Xmas chocolate stash - I'm isolating away from my kids as two of them have mocks as soon as school starts and don't want them to be ill

KathyBurke · 01/01/2023 10:14

Blimey, I've just worked out my bmi and it's 30 which puts me in the obese category. I am 5'4 and my stomach looks huge.

I'm so fed up with myself but only I can change it.

Well done to all that have weighed this morning.

Doesitmatteranyway · 01/01/2023 10:22

I weighed in at 12 stone 9 lbs this morning. This is my heaviest ever weight and is the result of eating to cope with stress. I need to use other means to cope with uncomfortable feelings.
Good luck to everyone who wants to achieve their goals this year.

Toomuch2019 · 01/01/2023 10:30

Can I join please.

Weighed in at 14 st 3 this morning which is the most I've ever weighed even after giving birth!

Aiming for 40lbs off before I turn 40 at the end of August which would get me to 11st 5. Wouldn't be all the way to a goal weight but much healthier!
