I can't put it off much longer, I am getting very large and uncomfortable. My eating has become very out of control.

I need to shift around 4 stone, not sure exactly as I am to scared to get on the scales.

Anyone want to join me for a big new start and weigh in on Sunday 1st January?

Thanks @sylv165 I had pizza and chips with my son and I don't regret it. I can get a bit obsessed when I'm on a mission so this got filed under friday night and having a chat with my son. tomorrow, back to the good habits!

I have to be patient. In this for the long haul. But still, hoping for a result on sunday.

Haveagentlechristmas · 21/01/2023 08:50

I've lost about 4lb since Christmas. Tricky last week as premenstrual and mad sugar cravings. Feeling better this week. So am going to push on!

Sjanish33 · 21/01/2023 16:37

Hi all

I am still going - it is slow - but I am trying to keep below 1400 calories (most days gets to 1300 some days 1500) leave myself room for good nutritious food. I started juicing as well and rhe green juice (apple, celery, spinach, cucumber and ginger) gives me a lovely energy boost - I noticed my bp has dropped but I think that is more because I have cut out the wine - weigh in Thursday and hoping for at least 1lb which will see the first half stone gone

I have a lot to lose (4-5 stones) so I am going to take my time- each year I start positive and end up back where I started - I always try to deny too many foods and end up feeling miserable- this time I want to do something that will be sustainable

I would be happy with 4lbs a month- 12x4 is just over 3 stone in the year - Wishing you all well.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 21/01/2023 18:38

not a good week here - too much cheese, too little exercise. Plus ages ago I promised DC2 a cafe lunch at a thing we had on today, and the choices were pizza/chips/burgers and I overindulged.

I weigh in tomorrow and will be thrilled simply to have maintained this week.

I also have a meal out tomorrow for H's birthday, and another on Tuesday, plus cake! Will have to be very strict Wed-Sat.

JoyPeaceHealth · 21/01/2023 21:10

Bumping this so I can find it quickly tomorrow morning. It took me a while to find it.

JoyPeaceHealth · 21/01/2023 21:11

oh, doh! just added it to I'm Watching

scaredysquiggle · 22/01/2023 07:19

Start weight: 10st 10
Week 1 10st 5.4
Week 2 10st 5.4
Week 3 10st 4
This week's loss: 1.4lbs
Total loss : 6lbs

Unexpected after the scales bounced around between 10st 5 and 10st 5.5 all week. I thought I was going to hold again this week.

Itssuzeimoverhere · 22/01/2023 07:45

Happy Sunday everyone, lost 700g this week. This week my intentions are to find the healthiest bread, stop eating full fat yoghurt and find a better replacement and try to squeeze more veggies in.
best of luck to you all for a good week

sylv165 · 22/01/2023 09:37

Still no change. Aaarrrgghh!!

Minnie123456 · 22/01/2023 10:23

@2023istheyearigetmyacttogether no I haven't found any walking apps yet, although tbh I haven't looked 🙈

Complete disaster this week and now have 2lbs on. I have actually done nothing but eat. My appetite has been wild this week, normally its like this a week before my period but im not due for nearly another 2 weeks. I've also been under alot of stress this week so have been comfort eating which I know I shouldn't do.

Anyway onto another week.

JoyPeaceHealth · 22/01/2023 10:30

i just got on scales and it was 69.1
Not what I was expecting. After about 2 weeks of not eating so much as a stray biscuit and calorie counting every day, and eating all of the right things, I've put on a kilo. What the hell.

I was 69.4 on the 3rd January. I don't get it. 3 weeks of strict dieting and I'm in the same place?!? I know I'm 52 but this makes no sense.

I didn't want to have to do keto but I might have to revisit that. :-(
I took 5 grams of psyllium husk yesterday. kilos of brussel sprouts weren't enough.

JoyPeaceHealth · 22/01/2023 10:37

I know somebody on here said that weight loss is not linear and I'm clinging on to that. I'm not giving up. But omg, dieting for over 3 weeks and only the first ten days have had any effect so far.

sylv165 · 22/01/2023 11:13

I hear you @JoyPeaceHealth, how on earth can I be up 2lbs since 1st Jan?!! It makes no sense. But will keep going - at least I haven’t gained anything since the first week!

Sjanish33 · 22/01/2023 12:30

@JoyPeaceHealth I know this, I am 54 and it is soo hard to lose it even when I am seriously cutting calories - it is very frustrating but I realise I have to eat so much less food than I want to :(

I weigh Thursday not holding out much hope this week - had a lovely walk this morning and did feel fitter and faster though

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 22/01/2023 13:20

No loss for me this week, but no gain either, which is more than fair given what I've eaten. I'm on a long walk right now...But to a restaurant! Blooming birthdays.

sylv165 · 22/01/2023 16:06

Definitely starting to feel fitter! Did week 4 run 2 today and although I still found the 5min sessions hard, the 3min ones felt much easier. I even added on 3x2min faster runs at the end to try and pick up a bit of speed. So that’s something positive!

GlumShoe · 22/01/2023 17:14

Hi all, hope you've had a good week.

I'm going to move my weigh in to Thursday this week. I was on annual leave last week, it was DS2's 18th birthday and it's TOTM. I think getting on the scales after this perfect storm of excuses to laze about and eat chocolate and cake would be very demoralising. I'm great at self sabotaging and I know if I see those numbers creeping up, I'll see it as a failure and give up.

Anyway, back to work tomorrow and back on track 💪

Good luck for the week ahead, everyone!

JoyPeaceHealth · 22/01/2023 17:19

@Sjanish33 and @sylv165 thanks for the moral support. It can feel like your body is defying the laws of science!!
I will plod on though.

recklessgran · 22/01/2023 20:11

It's half a pound gain for me. I'm so cross with myself! I was perfect for 5 days and then ruined it all by eating all the carbs on Friday and yesterday. Why? I have given myself a talking to and a fresh start today. Greek yoghurt and raspberries this morning and prawn salad for dinner. Good luck everybody this week.

JoyPeaceHealth · 22/01/2023 20:17

Yes, onwards. I am not going back to the cakes crisps and wine.

Weight loss is not linear I keep repeating to myself.
Next Sunday🤞

queenofthebongo · 23/01/2023 07:04

Hmm I have stayed at 151lbs this week so no loss for me. It’s not been a great week though so I’ll be more careful this week. I decided that if I was doing all this exercise then it didn’t really matter and it clearly does! Argh! X

sylv165 · 23/01/2023 08:15

I HAVE LOST 1LB!!!! Might just be a blip on the scales this morning, but haven’t even had a blip for a couple of weeks so I’m going to take it as a sign this things might be working

JoyPeaceHealth · 23/01/2023 08:33

Ha ha well done!! I share your relief and celebrate with you!
Après un quick trip to the salle de bain I finally dared to weigh myself and add it here. 68.5
Exactly where I was 10th of January but .....less than yesterday! A turning point? So it feels like progress, slow progress but still. Yay!

sylv165 · 23/01/2023 09:03

Yey! Let’s hope this is indeed a turning point. It’ll be about bloody time!

PeppermintChoc · 23/01/2023 13:00

I didn’t weigh myself on Sunday. I’ve had a mixed week and my sneaky peaks showed a stay the same. Going to try and drop my daily cals to nearer 1400. Aiming for as close to 1200 as poss.
