One month body blitz starting tomorrow

ONO7 · 19/06/2022 11:01

Anyone care to join me?

I'm starting tomorrow, giving myself a month, to try and sort myself out. One month doesn't sound too daunting!

I have at least two stone to lose, which will obviously take time, I'm not expecting a miracle in one month.

Also, the fatter I get the more I have let myself go so I intend to start using all the beauty products currently gathering dust, and take more care of my appearance.

I know that with a bit of effort, I can make positive visible changes. I really don't like what I see in the mirror right now.

I will post my starting weight in the morning and will make Monday my weekly weigh day.

Reinstalled MFP cheapo fitbit back on. Good luck everyone 🤞

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 20/06/2022 13:54

There is a good 1.5stones of AngelicaElizaAndPeggy to Lose. Made mostly of all the crappy junk food people bring in to school to 'cheer everyone up'. I have fuck-all willpower! Trying to fast between 7pm and 10am on days I'm not working. And then eating mostly protein and green veg. I'm basically 90% carbs.

Good luck everyone!

Neverendingdust · 20/06/2022 14:03

Good luck everyone!

💥Top tips💥

WATER WATER WATER WATER WATER WATER drink it from 1st thing in the morning until night, as much as you can. Squeeze half a lemon in a pint glass for a great boost of hydration.

Cut down on the caffeinated drinks after lunchtime to help regulate your sleep pattern. Frappelattemoccocinocrush drinks are off the menu too- literally empty calories filling up your gut spiking your blood sugars.

Make a dish of sliced tomatoes, carrot sticks, cucumber and Oliver’s to snack on with some humous or guac instead of crisps and chocolate. Go on give it a go!

Get some multivitamins and Vit C for a boost of well-being. Take daily especially great for better health, hair, skin, nails and general well-being.

Unsure about your skincare routine? Buy Caroline Hirons Skin book it’s a must and ridiculously simple to make small changes that will transform your look and confidence.

Take Takeaways off the menu, think of all the money you’ll save and the pounds you won’t gain!

Make small incremental changes you can adapt into long term living. Don’t expect to become a yoga-meditating-juice-drinking-gym-addict overnight.

Misspacorabanne · 20/06/2022 14:34

@ONO7 you sound like me! If I'm in the kitchen I'll grab a biscuit or something and not even realize what I'm doing until I've eaten it! Don't be too hard on yourself if your counting calories I'd just add it in. Good luck everyone! I've done a YouTube fitness video, just a short one, but it's a start.

alandaviesmrs · 20/06/2022 15:04

I’ve just weighed myself in kg because I don’t know what that means which is less depressing - 63.2kg. And I’ve been for a 5k run this morning, plus I made my ‘sandwich’ with lettuce leaves instead of bread this lunchtime. The nice warm weather makes salad easier! Good luck this week everyone!

twordle · 20/06/2022 15:31

11stone 1lb & 33inch waist!! (Only 5ft 4).. I'd like to lose at least 2 inches of waist & 10lb in next 6 weeks.. hoping this group will help motivate me although isn't it sad so many of us are fighting with our weight? I listen to a podcast called freedom from diet cycle which thoroughly recommend.. but then get torn between 'body acceptance' and downright greed!! Hate the feeling of hunger too so am not good at deprivation- any ideas for healthy & filling but carb free evening meals are most welcome!

Belephant · 20/06/2022 15:53

I've enjoyed reading through how everyone is doing today!

I feel like I'm doing well so far. I had ready brek for breakfast, and I've had couscous and salad for lunch. Two coffees but we're out of milk so they've been black coffees, which isn't as enjoyably but probably very slightly healthier Wink

I haven't drank as much water today as I should have done. Not sure what we'll do for tea, probably pasta of some sort.

So far no snacks except for a very small handful of hazelnuts.

As for a weigh-in, I don't actually have scales Shock never have. I just get weighed when I go to the hospital for an appointment with my consultant twice a year 🤣 and occasionally I'll have a little peak at my weight on the scales at my in-law's house.

Perhaps I ought to order some scales today!

Gryffindoratheart · 20/06/2022 16:02

Hi all,

Hope you don't mind me joining you!

Weighed in at 12 stone 12.6 this morning which gives me a BMI of 34.1 at 5ft 1

I started losing weight single April 2021 and so far have lost 2 stone 3.8 and have another 4 stone 12.6 to go!

This year I seem to lose and then regain it in a horrible circle of binge eating!!

Really need to get focusing as I have my first Round of IUI in September and want to lose as much weight as possible before then!!

So far today I have walked 16,001 steps, and am sticking within my daily calorie limit using MFP.

Hope everyone is doing okay!

ONO7 · 20/06/2022 16:21

After mindlessly scoffing a Double Decker earlier, my first thought was to reschedule my diet start to tomorrow!

Instead, I pulled up my big girl pants and got stuck into the gardening and then the housework. I even walked the dog which is unheard of for me.

Feeling more positive now.

Well done! That's usually my problem, the minute I go off track I give up and make it 10 times worse.

I find it hardest at this time, I'm in the kitchen, cooking dinner. Keep thinking 'oh I'll have a biscuit' thankfully we don't have any left, but I did have a small slice of cheese! So tempting! So now I'm just scrolling this thread to try and stop me cheating!

Can I join? Not looking to lose weight so much as getting more active and actually attending the gym classes that I religiously book each morning and cancel each afternoon. I'm so fed up of feeling like a sloth. I desperately need more energy and to invest a little bit more time in myself.

I've cut right back on alcohol - only drinking when it's an 'occasion' rather than on the sofa in front of telly and I've deleted Facebook which I was spending an inordinate amount of time on

Can you exercise first thing? I find I put it off the later in the day the class is..

anybloodyname · 20/06/2022 18:16

This is my danger time

Had my tea , not mega healthy but ok for now
My normal routine would be craving something sweet I will go to the shop and buy around £5 worth of crap

To stop this I have

Put on my jammies already
Brushed my teeth
Locked the back door
Reading all the posts here
Waiting for Emmerdale

Cuzco · 20/06/2022 18:16

Gosh this is the toughest time of the day to avoid snacks isn't it! DC are both home from nursery and both hungry and I know I won't get my dinner for at least another 1.5hrs. Argh. Have had two oatcakes and am typing here instead of going for chocolate.

LavateLasManos · 20/06/2022 18:37

Well done everyone, we've all done so well today. Stay strong!
I've just done a 30 minute Body Combat and will be running myself a bath. Going to use the nice body moisturiser and maybe even paint my nails (I never paint my nails!)

FloraGreysteel · 20/06/2022 18:40

I'm stuffed full of protein and veg and am now sipping my way through 50:50 made up M&S squash mixed with 7up free. Only half a glass to go before I meet my 2 litres!

I'm on 18:6 intermittent fasting (fancy name for skipping breakfast in my case),1200 kcals and 30g carbs. So far it's going brilliantly. I'm not even slightly hungry.

molka · 20/06/2022 18:58

Can I join please?
Weighed in at 58kg today. I have 1 stone to lose to 52kg. I'm young and short but have lumps and bumps where I should not!
I have yo-yo'd from heavy exercise to fasting but can't seem to shift it. Not sure what to try next (I have little time so tried fasting - but also a demanding job intellectually so need to be on top form so don't love skipping meals feeling starving - any suggestions greatly appreciated!)

Thestoppedfan · 20/06/2022 19:01

I’ve had a good day so far. Healthy food and within my calories, loads of protein and a good workout done at the gym, all rings closed on my Apple Watch.

The downside is that I’m still hungry and it’s only 7pm argh!

gingercat02 · 20/06/2022 19:13

I had 2 crumpets with butter and coffee for breakfast. Not a great start but they were the last two. I've made overnight oats for tomorrow.

Lunch was salmon chick pea and quinoa salad.

Jamie Oliver's sausage pasta for tea.

Banana, nectarine and orange for snacks.

1.5l water so far. Not too bad for day 1.
Hope everyone is doing OK

Cakequeen1988 · 20/06/2022 19:25

Hi,

I’m joining if that’s ok!

pre lockdown I was a svelt 8.10, lockdown and an abusive relationship has not been kind and I have gone up to 10.5, so quite a bit to loose and bad habits to break!

I love the idea of just 1 months commitment to start with, that feels like an achievable goal. 30 days until my holiday so double
motivation to really make a difference!

stayed within my 1400 calories today so a good start!

Cakequeen1988 · 20/06/2022 19:29

Also forgot to add,

regarding your earlier post about Eating the chocolate bar and throwing in the towel to start tomorrow. You carried on which is great. I once heard a great analogy I try to think of when this happens…

if you dropped your phone and chipped the screen you wouldn’t stamp on it and smash it and think oh well it’s broken a bit I might as well carry on and trash it. You be careful with it and try and make it better (ie replace the screen). So one slip up on a diet should mean we self sabotage the whole day. Accept it and move on

isthatwhatyoureallywanted · 20/06/2022 19:38

I'm joining too if I may.
11st4, a whole 2lbs less than I was at the beginning of Jan.
IF, 10k steps plus at least 20 active mins a day (even if that it just walking fast enough to get my heart rate up).
Today's food

  • breakfast - nothing
  • lunch - poached salmon with salad and a couple of new potatoes
  • tea - soup & slice of toast
  • snacks - boiled egg; cherries; cherry tomatoes; peach; biscuit
  • 1 coffee & 2 cups of tea.
And that's food done for the day
DrRuthGalloway · 20/06/2022 19:47

Right. My food box hasn't arrived so I am cheering from the sidelines for a couple more days. Need to get out of work clothes and hop on the exercise bike shortly.

CandyLeBonBon · 20/06/2022 19:51

I had a lump in my arm excised today so not worrying about anything other than not drinking alcohol. That's my commitment for today as I usual feel a bit shit after even a local anaesthetic. I've not gone mad but my goal today was no wine and I've managed that! Tomorrow I'll concentrate on more nutritious food choices as well.

BeneficiaryMadness · 20/06/2022 19:52

Ok, done for the day.
B - Smoothie
S - Cheese and apple
L - Roast duck and rice with greens
S - Humous and lentil chips

D - Chicken salad with roasted sweet potato and peppers
S - Homemade iced coffee with 2 x squares Lindt mint and one Lindt ball

2 x workouts and 16K steps

Writing that down looks like a lot of food doesn’t it? 🤦‍♀️ I’m a terrible snacker.

I’m going to take pictures of my meals for more accountability.
