Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself in time for a Sizzling Summer!

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating to LOSE or MAINTAIN. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

I am the same but it is okay as my NSV is no chocolate since Sunday and I did an extra thirty minutes on the treadmill when I had thought I wouldn't have time to run. 11 stone 11.6. Might look up what that is in kg.

I have the dentist this morning then some shopping then off to see my friend. DS2 off school poorly but DH is adamant I can still go as he says DS2 is not 5. I won't be far away if needed anyway.

(And feta is lush- it's a me food in this house as everyone else thinks it 'tastes of feet') @TheLastStark pleased you've joined. I've been following this thread religiously since January but only really started posting a few weeks ago. There's a lot of support and camaraderie

Morning all! The scales were a whole kg down from yesterday, so that means my holiday weight gain has halved overnight. I’m pleased with that. Gaining 1 kg after a week of excess is fine by me and, who knows, may be some more of that will magically disappear over the next few days 😊

Swimming the channel virtually sounds like a great challenge and probably a lot more enjoyable than doing it in real life @milkfromthesleepycow 😂

@HouseofHolbein I grew up in a country where cannabis is legal, but none of my class mates would have thought it a good idea to smoke it before an exam 🤦🏻‍♀️ That’s just not a good move! I hope the chat with your DD went ok and that she can see that there are actual real consequences to that kind of behaviour. It’s a tough lesson to learn.

I'm 1lb down today after a week of calorie counting. Not an amazing loss but I've found the week much easier than 16:8.

One of my DC is starting a summer job in hospitality next week so I will be collecting them late a few evenings a week. Keeping some calories for a snack those evenings seems a lot more do-able than intermittent fasting ATM. I totally believe in the theory of intermittent fasting so I'm a bit disappointed in myself for not sticking with it this time.

A warm welcome to the thread @TheLastStark . I use MFP too, I find it useful to plan for the week ahead by entering my menu for the week. Do you have a specific plan in mind?

Hi guys - I am back - I was on holiday for 2 weeks recently in Gran Canaria and then I had issues when MN had it's site refresh etc so have rejoined.

My big thing now which I'm going to try to do is MFP but with using barcodes to scan food.

I did notice that when I was away and not tracking calories/exercising much, yes I did gain weight a bit but not a huge amount more than I thought I would, why's that?

And I met some friends for bottomless brunch at the weekend who said emotions etc definitely don't help food cravings. Friend lost almost a stone and a half through reducing sugar a lot but she's Type 2 diabetic now so she has to do this and not recommended for everyone!

@milkfromthesleepycow yes yes about the feta! I love it! DH and DD think I'm mad but they say the same about goats cheese too. They are clearly wrong Wink

@TheRealHousewife - it wasn't an all inclusive but I did have cocktails, deserts etc but we did a lot of walking, swimming, classes etc.

It's funny though because since I've been off MN (so maybe a month or so) - at first I was watching weight but also as I was off work I cut down on gym etc but did swim, well I certainly thought I'd gain more weight and I have a bit but not much and not at the rate I thought!

I do eat a lot over the weekend n don't follow IF religiously...🙄but I have lost some weight

Well done all on WOW!

Sticking at 1231 calories today. Think I've got quite a lot for my cals:

Lunch: Lentil soup 2× Ryvita, spoonful of humous. Low fat yogurt.

Dinner: Veg curry with a little rice and small piece of nan.

Snacks: 2× Babybel, coconut ice lolly, meringue nest with strawberries and squirt of cream. Tea with milk.

What an evening... my meeting overran so I was quite late starting my WoW with my friend - we ended up in almost pitch black woods at one point and thought I was going to do myself a mischief on the tree roots 😆 There's also an almighty storm brewing down here - the last few km's of the route were by the water and the whole sky was lit up with lightening, although strangely no thunder! Really atmospheric although am glad I had company!

Did mean instead of my planned meal, I was back so late that after my bath, I just had a big bowl of cereal, some micro-chips and cheese and some chocolate! Not the best but also not the worst to be honest - I was absolutely starved by that point!

Anyways - here is the harbour towards the end... got proper dark, really quickly! Aha - the heavens have finally opened and it is throwing it down outside!!

Morning! Daily weigh in finds me at 9st 7lb 😱 I am rather up and down at the minute but hopefully getting towards maintenance soon although tbh I’ll probably just carry on with what I’m doing pretty much 😊

@buzzofthebumblebee good to see you back… seems to have been a difficult week for a few of us with one thing and another!

day off for me today 😊 hopefully go for a walk to the sea 👍

It took me all week to lose my work trip and eurovision party weight gain. But slight loss today takes me into bmi normal yippee. Problem is I'm going on holiday soon and am not known for my self restraint.

I bit the bullet and cleared-out all my clothes that no longer fit. No more keeping "just in case" I put the weight back on. First time I have ever had the courage to do that!!

B - strawberries, natural yoghurt & seeds
L - left over brown rice, salmon & roast veg
D - chicken stir fry

@GonnaGetGoingReturns it sounds like you’re eating to your needs rather than wants which is always better. All inclusive can be a twin edge sword tbh so it’s not a bad thing this wasn’t included.
