But I've decided to give it a go

The food is the sort of stuff I like to eat although I'll have to make some substitutes as I'm a vegetarian. But I love Bircher, porridge, all her snacks and salads etc

I'm starting tomorrow and wondered if anyone had some advice regarding the method or stories

Thanks!

So I have insomnia, especially when there is a full moon (I know -ah-woo!,) That was last night AND I was hungry. This can be risky for me, food choice-wise. Fortunately, I had made the broccoli etc soup yesterday which produces vast quantities, so I had a bowl of that.
I made the salmon-cucumber salad (and no, it was not oak smoked) for lunch today. vast quantities of greens but 75g of salmon’s not much!
I am so, so keen to get the weight off. I have a messed up right leg, and if I don’t lose weight, sooner or later I won’t be able to walk. I was explaining this to DP today while we were out walking. I don’t think he gets it. I am just waiting for him to produce some choc for me as an Easter gift😡

HardRockOwl · 15/04/2022 14:24

Afternoon all.

All good here, nice to see some sunshine! No plans as such though - having the house painted currently so that's about it here.

Was feeling hungry earlier but not too bad now

Had porridge, berries and yogurt for breakfast. Snack was an apple with a tablespoon of peanut butter and lunch was a wholemeal oat roll filled with salad, a little hummus and plant kitchen bacon rashers. I followed this up with a little bowl of mango and watermelon as felt peckish still so I will try and make this my afternoon snack if I can!

Not sure about dinner yet. Possibly roasted veg with feta

Hi all

I have a few days off work and going to try and get sorted with the food element of this. My breakfasts, lunches and snacks are mostly on plan (slight Creme Egg incident at work yesterday…) but dinners/post dinner snacks are not. I think having some time at home will help.

Food today:
Not hungry for breakfast
Snack: apple and cheese
Lunch: veg stir fry with 3 eggs, chilli, garlic, ginger, soy sauce
Snack: yogurt, berries, almonds
Dinner: haven’t decided yet, I might roast some vegetables and have them with mozzarella or halloumi.

Evening. Had to share this - I am absolutely amazed , stunned . I've been doing this plan (roughly) for a week. I can remember last Friday I hadn't finished the book but I'd been reading the thread, and when we had our takeaway curry I had done cauliflower rice with it. I hadn't weighed myself before starting as it was a bit of a half-hearted start. But last time I weighed myself I was 11st 9 - which is average for me - normally about 11st 9 or 11st 10. Anyway - got on the scales this morning and 11st 3 !!!!

I feel as if I've been eating loads and not at all hungry - in fact I wasn't really expecting to have lost anything at all.

Probably won't do so well over next few days as I have a couple of meals out and will probably have a beer or two .

shinynewapple22 · 15/04/2022 20:27

Today's food:

Porridge with chia seeds, skim milk, apple and a spoon almond butter .

Half a sachet lentils, some tomatoes, broccoli and feta cheese

A rice cake with peanut butter

Indian takeaway- I had starter size paneer tikka and a side dish chana and spinach . I put some Greek yogurt mixed with mint on the top.

May have some fruit and yogurt later .

EssexLioness · 15/04/2022 20:32

@shinynewapple22 congratulations on ur amazing weight loss!

Ginflinger · 15/04/2022 20:41

Shameless placemarking. Sorry!

indiesearcher · 15/04/2022 21:00

Evening all!

Have come away on holiday again so will try to stay on plan...

Breakfast today: porridge with a bit of mango, chia and pistachio

Snack: apple and peanut butter

Few almonds on the drive down.

Lunch: salad with lots of peppers, aubergine, olives.

Snack: oatcakes, cashew butter, strawberries on top (love this combo).

Dinner: BBQ's Cajun chicken breast with salad. Some lentils and some of DH's ratatouille. Quite a big portion of this but all v healthy.

Feel stuffed!

I had a few sips of DH's red wine earlier and had a low cal tonic (off plan surely).

indiesearcher · 15/04/2022 21:00

And @shinynewapple22 - that's amazing, well done!!

HardRockOwl · 15/04/2022 22:46

@shinynewapple22 that is amazing! You should rightly be delighted with that, it's clearly is suiting you , eating in this way.

I had the whole day on plan yesterday, did a load of decluttering and cleaning, ate well, exercised. Stood on the scales this morning and am exactly the same weight as yesterday. It’s misguided to think one day will make me lose 10lbs Grin

GenExer · 16/04/2022 08:19

Very late to the party but can I join? This sounds like a good plan for me as I'm a vegetarian. I have a very physical job but seem to be piling on the pounds since the beginning of the year!
Have ordered the Six Week and Lean for Life books.

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoBy · 16/04/2022 08:37

Trying to anticipate in advance one of my pitfalls- ice cream on a sunny afternoon. So I blended Greek yoghurt and frozen fruit then put in lolly moulds and now in the freezer - will try this afternoon as snack 2!

B: Greek yoghurt, blueberries, 4 almonds, 2 Brazil nuts, seed mix

Lunch: going to a restaurant for brunch so I'm thinking eggs / bacon / salad type?

S: My FroYo!

D: meatballs in passata with roasted aubergine chunks

ElvenDreamer · 16/04/2022 08:47

@Shinynewapple22 great job! @Sutra sounds like you are being very positive and proactive, and I know that feeling of 1 day on plan making you feel like several pounds ought to have gone 🤣 @Indiesearcher that looks like a really tasty day, I don't think you'll feel short changed by that, even on holiday! @GenExer come and join the fun, these books are great, really inspiring.

Well, I had my big pizza and gin evening on Thursday and got straight back in the circle after. Today is a day sent to try, DH had made croissants for breakfast, I ignored and had my yogurt. We have friends coming over for a BBQ and this, as always, being massively over catered for, my plan is to just choose a couple of things, without the buns, have with plenty of salad and veg kebabs and then just stop. Will also be swerving dessert, probably will have a coffee at that point so I feel like I'm partaking!
Am about to do a short exercise session session and lots of house work this morning so will have definitely paid my daily rent. I really really need to focus on my water intake too, been a bit lax with that in the last few days. Enjoy the sunshine everyone. 🌞🌷

GenExer · 16/04/2022 09:46

@ElvenDreamer thank you Smile I've been struggling with my lack of energy and realised yesterday that I need to rethink my eating habits so OP's post was serendipitous!

HardRockOwl · 16/04/2022 16:05

@GenExer welcome! Great that you've got the books on the way, it really helps to read them. I'm vegetarian too and the plan suits me just fine so far ... it's my week 3 weigh in next week and I've lost 11lbs so far so not doing so bad

Been super busy today! Driven 3 hour round trip to collect a little kitten with my daughter (it's hers, for her house! One cat is more than enough for me!

Then came home and I've done 3 hours of housework as we are having the house painted so as each room completes, I'm then having to put it all back together again

Anyway food times today ...

Vanilla bircher with walnuts and raspberries

Mango chunks + mixed nuts

Low carb wrap with plant kitchen bbq pieces + salad

Apple + peanut butter

Not sure about dinner yet.

Moanranger · 16/04/2022 16:17

For today, I have had
B grilled peaches & vanilla cream
L bacon roll with 2 rashers, 1 med tomato, lettuce & carrot sticks
D black bean huevos rancheros, not LP but recipe like one of hers, 1 egg, black beans & salsa verde (I will skip tortilla) So far I have quite a few leftovers, but need to pack some meals for next week
shinyapple & anyone else fancying ice cream, I make a sort of slushy as follows:
Crush 6-8 ice cubes & put in blender
Add scoop of flavoured whey protein powder (I use speculous) (sp? It’s a cookie flavour)
Half teaspoon xantham gum powder
Same amount stevia
100-125 ml unsweetened almond milk
Whiz up in blender. It comes out quite thick & cold. I use as a snack

Topazpearlagain · 16/04/2022 17:00

Hello everyone and welcome GenExer. Well done on that loss ShinyNewApple22, that is a great start.

I have been keeping mostly in the circle, apart from a small amount of dark chocolate each evening in lieu of dessert. I count it as my second snack and I have one of the Moser individually wrapped ones from Aldi. For me, knowing I can have that stops me feeling deprived.

NSV - I have lost an inch off my waist! Also, knocked 5 min off my parkrun time of two weeks ago, which to be fair was my slowest one ever, and since I improved from 46 min to 41 min, I am not exactly speedy. Carrying about 5lb less must have helped. I would never dream of running carrying a bag of spuds Easter Grin

Will be cooking the Moroccan roast lamb tomorrow for a bit of a change from the traditional. The others will have roasties and Yorkshire puds, but I will skip them. Will have a glass (or two) of wine though.

Topazpearlagain · 16/04/2022 17:34

Reading this, it looks like LP will keep us all young!

NinetyNineRedBalloonsGoBy · 17/04/2022 10:14

Morning all! Hope the Easter chocolate isn't too tempting today?

Thinking ahead to going back to work next week - I want to take a smoothie for an afternoon snack but any idea how long they'll last? I have a fridge, and I was hoping to make it the night before - so about 18 hours before consumption

Grytviken · 17/04/2022 12:08

I've been reading this thread with interest while I've been on holiday, at probably my highest weight ever, I've been so hot and uncomfortable and have hated myself in the all the photos, so I'm hoping to join you all and do the 6 weeks programme, I managed to order the book and the cookbook second hand and they were waiting for me when I got home. I'm going to have a prep week from Monday, got my Bircher all mixed ready for the morning! I already have the green chef Keto meal box 3 nights a week and think that will be mostly fine, the portions are not dainty though so think I will try and eat half and save the other half for an easy lunch the next day. I've got probably 3 stone to lose just to be in a healthy weight zone Confused
