Anyone up for loosing a stone - keeping each other company?

I really need to loose a stone. I’m 45, confirmed menopausal and at my heaviest at 11st 12lbs.

This has been gradual weight gain over the last 3 years.

I need to loose it, I feel sluggish and I’m only 5’4 so I’m starting to look like a barrel.

I have a few factors that mean I give up easy, 2 hour daily commute, stressful role in the NHS and the other stuff of juggling 2 kids etc.

So doing this with others, having some accountability would be helpful for me.

@Prokupatuscrakedatus

When I walk to work it will get me to 7500 steps max., no idea where I will get the rest. Walking back will add another hour to my work day.
I'm on maternity leave at the moment so makes it easier for me to get steps in x

Wow, that's a lot of steps! Star From the farm shop does sound healthy though. Good luck with your food over the weekend. I hope you have a lovely time. On it like a car bonnet on Monday then! :)

Minnie123456 · 27/03/2022 10:58

Another lb off. So far i've lost 7lb altogether but I don't really see a difference yet.
Managed to get out for 4 walks this week, 2x30mins, 55mins&45mins although I didn't meet my 7000 step target on any of them. Hoping to do around the same this week.

onelife22 · 27/03/2022 11:20

@Minnie123456 well done 👏

I've had an awful weekend food and wine wise. I have done a lot of walking though and managed a 5 mile coastal walk yesterday after a 3 course lunch and 3 large glasses of wine 🥴

Going to enjoy my Mother's Day lunch then back on it tomorrow as I really need to shift a bit more weight before my holiday in May!

73kittycat73 · 27/03/2022 19:38

Congrats on the weight loss Minnie123456. I hope I don't disappoint you but I've been dieting for 7 weeks now, lost 19lb so far, and only now is it starting to show. I was getting seriously worried that my belly wouldn't shrink! lol I suppose it depends on your height, and where you carry your weight?
Hi onelife22, I hope you enjoyed your weekend, and Mothers Day. Good going on the walks! Specially after the wine. Wine lol

73kittycat73 · 28/03/2022 12:10

Good luck for today onelife22, you'll have to let us know how you get on. I weighed today. Originally it said I had lost 1lb, but I moved the scales to a flatter piece of floor and it said I lost 2lb, so I'm going with that. lol Sorting out the garden sheds in a while. My mum wants her smaller mobility scooter out and it's right at the back! Oh well, it's all activity! Grin

elizabethdraper · 28/03/2022 20:57

Can I join ye.
47 peri menopausal
I started the year at 12.8
I am down to 12.2

I am feeling great, energy gone through the roof

Just tweaked the diet, upped the steps and keeping 3 sessions a week strenght training

Feeling like things are slipping slightly

elizabethdraper · 28/03/2022 21:06

Oh looking to lose about 2 stone and 4 lb per month
Calorie counting somewhat. Increased my calories from 1200 and 1800

It has all but eliminated all sweet cravings and midnight board raid
Upped the protein with tofu, yogurt and whey protein

onelife22 · 28/03/2022 23:15

@73kittycat73 thank you. I've done ok today. Forgot to order my online food shop which meant my breakfast and lunch weren't the healthiest but as I didn't have much food in I didn't eat as much as I usually would!

I'm up a pound on my average weight last week. I weigh every morning and go off my weekly average so hoping if I have a good week with no wine I'll be ok after A LOT of food this weekend.

Not as many steps as I usually do today but I stayed home with my girls and then went to visit mum for her birthday. I did go to my circuits class tonight so my Apple Watch tells me I've burned 2500 calories today which I am happy with considering I didn't even make it out for a walk!

Minnie123456 · 29/03/2022 22:58

@73kittycat73 well done that's amazing. So I might have a bit to go then before I see a differenceSad
I couldn't force myself out of bed this morning to go for a walk, had some biscuits&cake tonight, back on it tomorrow.

73kittycat73 · 30/03/2022 20:05

Hi elizabethdraper and welcome. I know about those midnight raids! In fact I pigged a bit last night. Blush Was all ready to through the towel in for the week but thankfully talked myself round.
Good going on burning all those calories onelife22! That's impressive. Good luck for this week. We can do it!
Hi Minnie123456. Smile I suppose it depends on where you carry your weight? Some people see a difference with a 7lb loss. Good luck on getting back on track today.

onelife22 · 30/03/2022 20:24

I weighed this morning and I am back down to Friday mornings weight. I am pleased as ate out 4 times 😣 one was a 3 course and one was a 2 course too and I drank wine!

No drinking this weekend!

Thighdentitycrisis · 30/03/2022 22:56

I weighed on Monday and gave gained half a lb. I’m so disheartened ☹️

Started C25K and now on week 2. I have swam 50 lengths on my rest days so far this week.
I walk to work and back 40 minutes total, twice a week

I haven’t had a drink for at least 3 weeks.
My typical day is this :
7- 8 am. Breakfast- porridge made with water, ground linseed, small handful of sultanas, 1dessert spoon soft brown sugar. Sometimes add 1/3 large banana
Tea with oat milk
1-2 pm Lunch - carrots, brown pitta with hummus and salad, or a half peanut butter sandwich with cucumber, an apple of orange

7- 8 pm - Dinner. Veg based meal with brown pasta/ rice/ salmon,lentil curry.

Supper- toast and butter/ marmite/ peanut butter, fruit, oatcakes, dried figs or dates, muesli with oat milk.

2 litres of water per day

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 31/03/2022 12:37

Theigh It is just a glitch, I gained half a kilo, too.

Thighdentitycrisis · 31/03/2022 20:52

@Prokupatuscrakedatus

Thanks, I hope so. A long glitch if it is. Started at 9st 13 on 14th Feb, yo-yoed up and down 2 lb, now gone over 10st!

73kittycat73 · 01/04/2022 19:13

How's the no drinking rule going so far onelife22? It's good that eating out didn't make you put on any. I'm doing an (NHS) weight loss course and in there it says about things like eating out being part of life, not putting your life on hold to diet. Sounds like you have it sorted though! Smile
Hi Thighdentitycrisis, well done on all that activity! Very impressive.
How are you doing Prokupatuscrakedatus?

Minnie123456 · 03/04/2022 10:22

A lb on this week. Knew it would happen as i've had a rubbish week, need to get back on it this week.

73kittycat73 · 04/04/2022 13:27

Hi Minnie123456, sorry you've had a difficult week. It's not too much damage though? I understand it's disappointing though, specially when it takes a day to put on a pound, but a week to lose it! I hope you have a much better week this week, and reach any goals you set. Flowers

elizabethdraper · 04/04/2022 23:08

So no loss or gain this week. Have myself a few days off, feel refreshed and ready for this week

73kittycat73 · 05/04/2022 12:01

Lost 3lb this week. Encouraged me to keep exercising.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 09/04/2022 10:06

Here too, no loss but no gain either.

Minnie123456 · 10/04/2022 22:02

Stayed the same this week, didn't get out walking as I had a head cold & felt sorry for myself, didn't stop me eating rubbish though. Really need to find a way to fight my cravings when af is due/here.

73kittycat73 · 11/04/2022 11:23

Put on 1lb. Sad Must have eaten more low cal chocolate bars than I thought.

Minnie123456 · 16/04/2022 07:58

@73kittycat73 some of those low cal chocolate bars are quite addictive, especially the mint ones lol.

2lb off this week, only 2 more lbs until I reach the overweight category. I've lost 8lbs so far but it's taken so long

73kittycat73 · 16/04/2022 09:59

Congrats on the 2lb. Smile Star
I've done nothing but eat crap all week. Starting again tomorrow (I've already eaten my egg. lol)
