Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

Sunshine, I think it depends how much you have to lose. I lost 1 1/2 stones on 15 syns per day. Then I cut down to 10 syns for the next 1/2 stone. I wouldn't mind losing another stone, so I'll carry on with 10 syns for now and cut it down if I stop losing You could always start at 15 and see what happens. Are you in a hurry to lose weight? I wasn't, so that might be your deciding factor. Good luck

Sunshine78 · 07/01/2008 15:55

Well done u I only need to lose about 20llbs. I had lost all the baby fat but then spent 8 weeks on the run up to xmas in hospital with dd (long story but on mend now) then xmas and put 20llb on all my clothes are tight and I refuse to buy any bigger ones. As an incentive to keep weight off I gave all my fat clothes to the charity shop.

Sunshine78 · 07/01/2008 15:57

Ta lurcherlass have been averging 10 synns this week (my first) so will see what the scales say Wednesday and go from there! Good luck babyducky!

katylou25 · 07/01/2008 17:44

Hi Am finally firmly back on track after the hols - Today having red day so far so good
Breakkie - banana and yogurt
Lunch - H/M Bolegnese sauce, roll and grated cheese, grapes and raspberries
snack - 1/3 mini pringles (shared pack with ds's) and two satsumas
Have got tea in the oven at the mo - lemon and rosemary baked chicken, pot wedges made from he new pots and lots of veg followed by low sugar jewlly.

Got curly wurly for when boys are in bed
Hopefully i'll be able to turn it around for weigh in on Wednesday and get myself back to my 2 1/2 stone that I got to just before Christmas - and then only about another stone to target I think!

lurcherlass · 07/01/2008 19:12

lemon and rosemary baked chicken....that sounds yummee katylou...and easy?

katylou25 · 07/01/2008 20:08

Very easy - spray baking dish with frylight plonk in chicken breasts, zest of a lemon and a handful of chopped fresh rosemary over the top, black pepper and bake for half hour ish. If you're feeling indulgent and got a bottle on the go - not that mine ever last more than a couple of hours! - a splash of white wine is also really nice in it.

andyrobo237 · 07/01/2008 20:28

Went to my new class today (cant do old one as back at work) - the Leader was a different type of person to my usual one (who is also a Mum at school), but not in a bad way - she is more like a schoolteacher! She has given us a heart with 7 segments in that equate to lbs - so when we have coloured it all in we will have lost half a stone! She is expecting us to have filled in at least one by valentines Day and then at least another one by easter!

One good thing she does is a monthly sheet which says who has acheived what award, slimmers of the week, etc! the group are all very friendly - mix of ages, so i think I will enjoy it! I have menu planned until Friday - so heres hoping! I mainteained my 1lb gain last week, but I am still 2lb less than before christmas, and I have 5lbs to my Club 10 and 6 lbs to my 1.5 stones - aiming to get both by the end of January!

Lets hope we are all getting back on track - new year new start - pick up your books and pretend you are a new starter and read all the front pages in the book - it is surprising what you forget - I have even got the scales out of the cupboard!

lurcherlass · 07/01/2008 20:48

Thanks Katylou, that's my kind of cooking

kid · 07/01/2008 22:55

I made a 'fragrant carrot, pea and tomato pilaff' tonight. Loads of ingredients (all of which I already had) lots of chopping, adding, stirring and.... it didn't even taste that nice!

I find its good to try these things out as if you notice a taste you didn't like (I don't like cardamoms) then you can leave that out the next time, or you can add more of a flavour you did like.

Even though it was my first day back at work after 2 weeks holiday, I didn't mind coming home and cooking. At least while I was cooking I wasn't snacking

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 07/01/2008 23:23

Feeling better this evening, found out I've lost 2lb since my crazy week of christmas binging, so it's cheered me up no end, and I'm going to apply myself and try and shift as much as poss before easter.

Andyrobo that's great advice about reading the book again, there's a new book out at the moment too.

katylou25 · 08/01/2008 08:25

Right todays menu is....
GREEN
Breakfast - banana and yoghurt
Lunch - mushroom and spring onion omelette, toast (HEB) and fruit
Tea - Chicken Tikka (HEB + 1 syn), and veggie pilau rice

Snakcs - 300g oven chips ( 3 syns)

Leaves me lots of syns for chocolate if the urge grabs me! Dh is away with work all work so find I snack more in the evenings being stuck in on my own and can't do my usual swimming and stuff cos got no one to look after kids. Am trying to stivk to it by posting here as an incentive to stick to my plans!

Sunshine78 · 08/01/2008 09:07

Am currently at work munching through a big pile of grapes trying to pretend they are chocolates

MamaG · 08/01/2008 09:09

babyducky · 08/01/2008 10:50

morning all,

can i just ask are all quorn sausages free?
I tried the frozen ones last time i done sw, didnt really like them but thought i'd give them another try,

MamaG · 08/01/2008 12:08

yes, quorn sausages are free

free, and gross

lurcherlass · 08/01/2008 13:02

Hello MamaG, good to have you back. I agree, Quorn sausages are not something I dream of at night, but I can just about stand the Cumberland style ones. They're quite peppery and not bad if I bury them under a pile of beans...
Weighed myself today, the first time since 18th December and I've gained 3lbs over Christmas. I suspected as much due to my snug waistbands..Oh well, on we soldier...

Beadmum · 08/01/2008 14:05

done really well yesterday, had a few rich tea fingers at night but still came in well below for my syns. Feel like im back on track and choc craving isnt as bad.
My dad visited this morning with a packet of shortbread my mum insisted he bring, why do people insist on giving you things like that when they know you're trying to be good
Have had baked potato with beans and huge salad for lunch and have made some parsnip soup for tea followed by pasta (always feel too bloated with loads of pasta so prefer to have smaller amount with soup first to fill me up enough)

welcome back to everyone returning to the thread, im new here

Beadmum · 08/01/2008 14:08

meant to ask - does anyone know if those ww scales are any good? theyre reduced to around £25 in argos just now. Thought theyd be good as they measure body fat and bmi as well as weight. I weigh myself at home as i cant attend classes so wanted good scales

JamesAndTheGiantBanana · 08/01/2008 14:10

Ooh no I love quorn sausages (mind you, haven't had a real one for 16 years so I spose I don't know what I'm missing!) I have them almost every night as they're free and I'm unimaginative.

SheikYerbouti · 08/01/2008 14:55

I lost 3lbs

I am going to be extra good this week. It is my birthday on 27th jan, and I want to treat myself to a few lagers!

Qorn sausages are ok if you cook them in a sausage casser9le, with chilli etc to hide their taste

SheikYerbouti · 08/01/2008 14:58

btw, if you are on a red day, you can have the bowyers 95% fat free ones - they are 1 sin for the pork ones and 0.5 syns for them Mediterranean style ones. The Med ones are lovely in a sausage casserole and the pork ones make nice sausage sandwich.

Morrissons do a saus that ids free on a red day as well (Think they are called something like Healthy choice butcher's pork sausages)

I like sausages, can you tell?

babyducky · 08/01/2008 15:15

thanks guys, I dont think i'll bother I know i wont like them, may give the cumberland ones a try, or try doing a casserole with them.

Have tried those cauldron(sp) ones & bowyers, not keen on them either.
I remember before u could get some from marks and spencer that were quite nice & im sure they were free, cant remember which ones though!

What about any of the other quorn stuff? Any of it nice?

well done on your weight loss SheikYerbouti,
