Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

Thanks misdee. What do you have for a free green breakfast?? Been ok today (so far) I've had shredded wheat for breakfast, a cupasoup- don't know syn value... (that's my biggest problem counting the syns) and a wholemeal roll spread with laughing cow light cheese, a bowl full of fruit salad & a chocolate biscuit...again no syn value
I MUST START COUNTING MY SYNS!!! Think we'll have quorn chilli & rice tonight!

kid · 11/02/2008 16:37

hello girls, been really good today!

for breakfast i made a... not realy sure what it was. sort of omlette, but it was made with savoury egg custard (3 eggs, small tin of evaperated milk, cheese HE and bacon HE)
i wasnt sure if i could count the evaperated milk as a HE or not so i have allowed 5 syns for it 1 syn per table spoon.

well, that did for Brekki & lunch & part of tea, i had pasta and salad with it for tea.
im also trying not to eat after 6.0clock to see if that makes a difference? will let you all know on thursday

tonight its going to be 5 miles on exercise bike (in short bursts) whilst watching the soaps!!!

sugarlumps · 11/02/2008 18:27

BTW poppy, the average syn value for a batchelors cup-a-soup is 10.5 syns on each day!!!!

poppy90 · 11/02/2008 19:50

quorn sausages

andyrobo237 · 11/02/2008 20:18

Evening - been 'missing' for a few weeks as not following plan properly - but went to class today and had gained a pound - not too bad - but need to get back on track!

Got baby's birthday this week - planned a tea, but I am off all day so will have free food all day - we are having sandwiches and curly fries for tea and birthday cake!! Not a SW meal, but there are 20 other meals this week to be good at! Aiming to lose 2.5lbs this week by eating lots of free food, limiting syns and trying to cut out sugary stuff!

misdee · 11/02/2008 20:33

breakfasts for me is ually quorn sausages, fry-light fry egg, half a tin of beans, mushcrooms (fry light or grilled) and sometimes i make this potatoey things as well.

potatoey things, is peel and the grate one medium sized potato. take grated potato and squuze as much fluid out as possible.
chucken grated potato in a bow, mix one beaten egg in as a binder. add sweetcorn/onions/peppers or whatever else you want. add salt and pepper to taste. place them on foil lined tin sprayed with fry light. shape the poato mixture into hand sized blobs or whatever size you want. spread about 1cm thick. whack in oven on gas mark 6 until nice browned one side, flip over and put back in the oven unti levenly browned.

very filling.

sugarlumps · 11/02/2008 20:44

mmmmmmm they sound lovely misdee! i may have to try that for te one night when i have plenty of time!!! with cheese mmmmmmmmmmmmm sorry lol getting carried away now!

misdee · 11/02/2008 20:50

just whackever you want in them. i like with sweet corn and onion.

kid · 11/02/2008 21:10

I have to leave the house early in the mornings, well early for me. I can only face eating weetabix that early.

I top my bag up with fruit though to nibble on during the day.
I love the sound of them, especially with onion. I'll have to try that with some quorn sausages.

misdee · 11/02/2008 21:19

i dont have time to cook thenm during the week, usually just grab some toast and a banana.

Ledodgy · 11/02/2008 21:25

Oh Misdee they sound lovely. That's what i'm going to have for my lunch tommorrow!

kitbit · 11/02/2008 21:34

I had macaroni cheese tonight, real treat - used my skimmed milk allowance plus cheese as healthy extras (not very much, but very strong so didn't need a lot) and a big splodge of mustard in the sauce to up the flavour a bit. Chopped in some chives and voila...yummy! Tasted evil but was actually very good! Oh, used about a tab of flour so that was syns I suppose, but still not bad. The potatoey thing sounds lovely misdee, would be lovely with a poached egg on top and a nice salad.

misdee · 12/02/2008 08:02

hmmmmmmmmm no idea whats going on. i know i went out to lunch on saturday, but my scales are saying i weigh 1lb more than last week.

surely one meal wont impact that much will it?

i am getting utterly fed up with this diet now. but i will carry on with it as i need to lose this weight for my own health. i think my dreams of being a size 16 by the summer are disappearing though.

apologies for my horrendous typing there!

SWlurker · 12/02/2008 13:13

SWlurker lurks around a bit and slopes off annoyed with herself that as she is skint until payday she can't re-join a class and has had a couple of days away with work eating not even vaguely slimming food and now feels ill as a result.

Yes Christie, I think you'd be safe enough, there's also sag paneer (the cheesey spinach mmmmmmmm) Enjoy
Had 2 boiled eggs with HB toast for brekkie + 2 yellow plums & super noodles with peas for lunch + homemade (in the slow cooker) rice pud

SWlurker · 12/02/2008 15:34

Christie, I remember being told it was 10 syns for a vegetable curry at Indians (I think because everything is done in fat fat fat) so be careful. Plain ish rice should be free. If you're going to a restaurant I have asked them before if they could cook my stuff without fat or with as little as possible. As a general rule I have always found them really really helpful.
