Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

OP posts:
MamaG · 10/02/2008 15:00

misdee I'm feeling peed off as well at the mo! Put on 1.5lbs last week (but I did have fish and chips!) - last night I had home made pizza for tea then had the leftovers warmed in teh oven for lunch

Feel like a total pig and will only have myself to blame if I gain again on Weds.

I MUST step it up again - when i first startd and was being VERY GOOD i lost about 3lbs a week on average, but I think I'm a bit blase about it now...now a size 16 and think I'm Kate Moss! Still got a logn way to go (obviously!) so I must must MUST get back on track. STarting tomorrow

MamaG · 10/02/2008 15:01

Re fruit - do you like grapes? Mango? Nectarines? They are the most "similar" to hte ones you like, that I can think of

misdee · 10/02/2008 15:03

nope. the texture makes me gag

i can understand dd2 food issues as i really cant stand 'slippery' fruits.

peaches scare me with their fuzzy skins.

am just wondering about trying some tinned fruit. smaller peices perhaps.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 10/02/2008 15:05

[sighs heavily]

Can I join please. I know the plan, just can't afford to join a proper club.

Am a fat bitch.

Do we have to post our weights and heights?

misdee · 10/02/2008 15:06

no u don t have to post your weigh/height. just what u want to lose and how much you lose at each weigh in.

password for the website is pancake btw.

MamaG · 10/02/2008 15:07

misdee what about chopping some of the less slimy fruit up and mixing into yoghurts? You won't be able to taste them as much, but you'll be getting the nutrients from them?

Shiny, come on in - its up to you if you post your gains and losses, most of us do but its not compulsory by any means! HAve you got the books etc?

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 10/02/2008 15:11

My books are over a year old but they'll do won't they?

Are we talking the actual website.. ?

Thanks

MamaG · 10/02/2008 15:13

God yes they'll be fine - think they only change a bit anyway. Have you been on the website? Its handy to chart your progress and for recipes etc.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 10/02/2008 15:14

MamaG, pureeing the fruit stops it being "free" doesn't it? Last time I attended classes I got well into smoothies (DH was having a Gillian McPoo phase) and I was horrified that because I was making smoothies, out of just fruit, no yogurt or anything, that they weren't free anymore!

I am NOT "wasting" (sorry!) syns on fruit! That's why I couldn't get on with WeightWatchers.. I couldn't get my head around fruit having points!

misdee · 10/02/2008 15:16

hmmmm, see i don t like fruit in yoghurt either. like i say, its the textture of it,

think i'm gonna have to live with my apples, oranges and bananas.

auntyspan · 10/02/2008 15:17

Hi MamaG I have difficulty with fruit too, as I have an allergy to fleshy fruits like apples, nectarines, plums and suchlike.

I find tinned fruit a godsend, especially during the week when I'm stacked out.

Tinned cherries are my fav, esp over 0% greek yoghurt. I also eat manderin oranges, grapefruit segments, pineapple and raspberries.

HTH

auntyspan · 10/02/2008 15:18

sorry - post was to Misdee

misdee · 10/02/2008 15:29

thanks auntispan, i think what i am going to do is buy one different piece of fruit each week to try it. i want to try pomegranate.

MamaG · 10/02/2008 15:34

oh yes pomegranate GREAT. You will hopefully like them as they are quyite dry (IYKWIM!)

I'll give you a tip: cut them in half then holding half with the cut end down, bash bash bash with a wooden spoon and all teh little red fruity bits will fall out. Don't sit there with a pin for 3 weeks

sugarlumps · 10/02/2008 16:06

hi all!
cleaninglady - you said you have cut your meal sizes down, this is going to sound stupid but are you sure your having enough to eat? if you dont eat enough you body goes into hunger mode where it actually starts to store your fat - making it 10 times harder to lose weight!

i've had a good weekend so far - did the ministry of sound workout dvd before i went out on friday night - i cant take it seriously though the bloke doing it is soooooooooooooooooooooo camp! lol
did the strictly come dancing workout dvd last night - love that one - im aching all over today so it must be doing something!

i think i will do a nice steady bike ride tonight (indooors watching telly) what could be better???
well besides being a size 10 lol

sugarlumps · 10/02/2008 16:10

oh and those soupfulls i thought they looked really nice but they are way high in syns!! i cant remember exactly but i think they were between 10 - 20 on a green day so i would say totally not worth it will go and double check on the website now!

sugarlumps · 10/02/2008 16:13

no i lied they are between 9 and 12 syns for a 400g pouch! still not worth it when its just pasta and soup.

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 10/02/2008 19:38

What day do we weigh, please?

sugarlumps · 10/02/2008 20:03

whenever is easiest for you! i weigh on a thursday as i started the diet on a thur. so every thurs morning i weigh myself, enter weight on website and then tell everyone on here.

poppy90 · 10/02/2008 22:00

Hello Can I join AGAIN? I gave up classes about 3 months ago and have put on about a stone ! Well no shock really, as my eating has gone totally out of control I know I shouldn't be eating everything & anything in sight.... I just can't help it. I HATE the way I look & feel very Poppy x

misdee · 11/02/2008 11:01

morning and welcome back poppy.

have had big free green breakfast. plus wholmeal toast (heB).

am going to eat some apples and bananas soon as midmorning snack. then will have pasta for lunch about 1.

am hoping for 1lb+ loss this week, and as of this morning i am stil lthe same weight i was on weigh in last weds.

i am back to measuring my milk, i was having waaay too much before. its scary how much i was having.

have also cut out the yoghurts as well as they were bloating my stomache a bit.

kitbit · 11/02/2008 12:52

Morning everyone!
Well, weighed this morning and have maintained which I am REALLY pleased with as it is a star week and I usually put on 1 or 2 so YAY! Celebrated by scoffing all my syns together in chocolate form EEK but am going to try and be syn free for the rest of the day .
Anyone know the password this week by the way?

kitbit · 11/02/2008 12:54

oops have just seen the pw a bit further up, thank you!

nikkid21 · 11/02/2008 13:08

Usually i'm a green day girl but am trying to have at least 4 red days this week to see if mixing things up helps. I'm a bit stuck at the moment.

Only have 9lb to go but am only losing a pound or half pound a week.
Currently I have around 14 syns a day and both a & b choices. Would it be better to cut one A choice or go down to 10 syns? Can't face doing both

Joby1970 · 11/02/2008 13:24

CLEANING LADY: SUGARLUMPS is right. You need to make sure your having enough free food to fill you up plus all the healthy a & b choices. If you don't take advantage of them then you may as well be doing weight watchers .
