Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

I'm a fat useless blob who can't stop troughing syns and despite LOADS of exercise in the last 2 weeks just got weighed and put on a pound! I know exactly what I'm doing wrong, its all written down in black and white in my diary, its SYNS SYNS SYNS - syns when I'm not prepared, syns when I go away with work, syns when I eat too much cheese, my usual syns of tia maria mixed with the odd cocktail, chocolate when I'm bored and I'm SO fed up with myself!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shhhh · 06/02/2008 21:46

swlurker,at least you know the answer..you just need to work on the problem and you will do it..................

Think of a goal, be it a wedding or a holiday or to be able to sit in a beer garden in the summer wearing summer skirts and vests...whatever your goal is keep thinking about it....everytime you go to get syns think: "is this x (syn) going to make me as happy as x (place goal here)will"

This is what I have been doing and it does tend to work.

You are not a fat useless blob, you are have gained 1 lb YET at least you have been to class and are committed to wanting to loose weight. Diets are hard, food is nice...sadly both don't always go togther..

Keep lurking on this thread. Start again tomorrow and continue with your food diary. xx

morning all! lost 1lb this week so i've still not reached my stone mark maybe next week though eh?
my bum is killing! i think im going to have to sit on a cusion on my exercise bike lol. i managed 3.5 miles yesterday - i wanted to do 10 a day but i think thats pushing it slightly i'm a lot less fit than i thought i was lol
keep up the good work girls

  • and lurker - i feel like you sometimes too, when the weight isnt shifting as fast as i'd like, but unfortunately the only safe way to lose weight is slowly, you will have blips, but after your blip get straight back on it the next day. stay focused you'll get there ;)
Shhhh · 07/02/2008 14:21

sl, we are defo slimmingtwins..! Another 1 lb off for me this week. I would love to loose more each wek as im doing it 110% BUT like you said, a little at a time is just as good....keep thinking that my goal weight hopefully should be reached by august....

Whats this weeks password btw..? Didn't stay to meeting..

misdee · 07/02/2008 14:58

hiya

have been trying to limit my time online so not been on much.

i stay the same this week.

i am a bit though as last night we webnt to the cinema. we normally go on a weds, so i eat free food all day so i can indulge in popcorn and a diet coke. except last night i thought my diet coke wasnt right (different cinema chain) and you nkow, when diet cokes starts to go flat it tastes a bit artificial (i find it does anyway), well last night it tatsted really syrupy. I think they gave me a regular coke instead.

so to be safe am avoiding syns today as well. though could murder a ice lolly.

nikkid21 · 07/02/2008 15:56

I maintained this week which is better than I expected. I had pizza, chinese and raspberry brulee cheescake (on Friday, Sat and Sunday) so I expected a gain really.

Want to lose 1lb this week to get my 1 1/2 stone. The following week I'm going to Rome with DH as the kids are going on hols with my mum for half term. Can't see me sticking to plan while i'm away

Sparkler · 07/02/2008 23:07

I'm well and truely peed off. I gained half a pound tonight. I've had a really good week. I filled out a food diary and have spent four hours this week in the gym/excercise classes. Eaten stacks of fruit. I was even feeling great in myself and "felt" slimmer. I just can't understand what's happened. I got off the scales and just felt like running out of the door and sobbing. I stayed to group though. Made me feel even worse hearing all the weight losses of everyone else.

1.5lbs on

sugarlumps · 08/02/2008 10:45

morning girls!
im sooooo hungry - not sure if i dare eat anything tho, i had a case of the sickness and diorreah bug yesterday. feel ok today tho i might have a slice of toast in a bit and see how i get on with that.
was supposed to be out tonight throwing out some shapes on the dance floor. hmmmmm we'll see how i get on! im never one to pass up on a night out!

SWlurker · 08/02/2008 12:33

Been away with work - last nights dinner was suprisingly saintly, (ratatouille and boiled rice!) wine wasn't but do still feel pleased with myself because this morning I had toast (HEB) and 2 poached eggs with grilled tomato and mushrooms. only trouble is I used one of those butter thingies on my toast. Don't know how big it is - could anyone make an educated guess at the syns in that?

SWlurker · 08/02/2008 12:38

Oh and by the way after spending the other night upset & sulking (and amazingly only ate a teeny SW friendly dinner!) and an email from my old SW leader I have decided to join a SW group again. Feel SO much more positive about it now, even thoguh last could of days haven't been the best syns-wise, I'm so much more in control - a meal out is hard to control, but I made a good choice and didn't finish the fattening parts of it. now to work on the alcohol consumption

Slightly gutted though I found out the pasta & sauce (lidl cheapo version) I have cooking away in my flask is 5 syns - cue me going on a shop tonight for the real (free) thing methinks!

Joby1970 · 08/02/2008 13:48

Sparkler - if you fell slimmer you probably are - remember muscle weighs more than fat. Inch loss is the thing that counts

sugarlumps · 08/02/2008 13:59

well, i've eaten some chinese style rice - and so far kept it down!!! i had it at about 11.30 so i think im safe now! totally blitzed the house from top to bottom dancing round with my mop - so i feel the night out, is on!!
whoop whoop - note to self - avoid take aways of all kinds

lurcherlass · 09/02/2008 15:03

Anyone succumbing to the scrummy hot cross buns (Morrisons buy 1 pack of 4, get one free..)How many syns d'you reckon??

katylou25 · 09/02/2008 15:22

The weekend is off to a good a start.... but not for slimming world! We went to TGi's last night as Dh finished work early and wehaven't has a chance to do much as a family for a while as hes been working loads - anyway all my plans to be good and just have a salad went out the window by the time i'd had half a glass of wine - I had a maissve cheeseburger and chips and then we shared a big dessert! Oh and I had 3 glasses of wine - had a fab night tho and then this morning dh made brioche french toast so i had to have some of that - did have some bananan with it tho!!

sugarlumps · 09/02/2008 15:56

3 glasses of wine katylou? lol i think i had 3 bottles or so last night! and boy am i paying for it now. i've got micheal flatley riverdancing in my head!

i was good though no take aways for me last night. just some crazy drunken dancing!

stuck to the plan today even though im caving greasey hangover food i should have made it a red day then i could have had bacon....ooooooooooooooooooo bacon mmmmmm

kid · 09/02/2008 20:56

I'm not feeling well and really don't have the energy to eat.
Will weigh in on Monday to see how I am doing anyway. I didn't bother weighing in last week as I knew it would be bad, I had been out for a meal and had completely over indulged! I am definitely expecting to see a loss now.

As I was eating lunch today, I realised I have only been having 1 HEb. I practically live on green days and have rice and pasta for lunch and dinner. I really need to plan my meals to make sure I am having all of what I am meant to.

lunavix · 10/02/2008 09:30

has anyone got an ideas about them new soupfulls? Whether any are free on green or low syns?

misdee · 10/02/2008 09:40

i am getting really duisheartened. i try and stick to the plan as much as possible, but yesterday we went out for lunch minus the girls. we ended up at frankie and bennys. so i had chicken and ribs (am guessing ribs arent free of red?) jacket potato (heb), small amount of coleslaw, and corn on the cob. then followed it with cinamon waffle crunch. which is belguin waffle, ice cream and caramal sauce. it was nice but probably not worht it syn wise.

i am going to eat as many 'superspeed and speed' foods over the next three days, and hope to see a loss on the scales on weds.

but am finding this so hard now.

i want results and ai want them fast. i envy people who loss 3lb a week, thats really bad isnt it? apart from my first week and first week back after xmas, all my losses have been 2lb or less.

cleaninglady · 10/02/2008 09:46

Hi Ladies
I have been lurking for a while just joined SW a couple of weeks ago but need some advice if you dont mind me joining in!

I have 2 1/2 stone to lose - lost 6 1/2lbs in my first week and 3 1/2lbs in my second week which i was really pleased with. I have introduced exercise this week and really cut down on my food as really wanted to get a stone off in 4 weeks so 2 weeks of 2lbs losses needed
Anyway despite eating very little really AND introducing exercise Ive not even lost a pound since last week what am i doing wrong? i dont usually use all my A & B's and very little in the way of syns - is this not helping? anyone any experience of this ? TIA

cleaninglady · 10/02/2008 09:48

ooo misdee - 2lb weight loss is really good but i know what you mean about the 3lb losses of other people

lucky you going to frankie and bennys though - I had to drive past with my eyes closed yesterday bet it was (nearly) worth it though!

why do i not like fruit?

well most fruits.

i have just tried some melon and its horriable. i knowits not really, but i cant stand it and have given up after a couple of bites. the only fruits i like are apples, bananas and oranges. thats it. oh and rasians which arent even a heB.

vegetables on the other hand, i adore. i adore salady stuff as well.

but i really want to expand my fruit options as there are so many superfree foods in that catorgary which will make like easier when out and about.

[sighs]

i'm worse than the kids, i swear 4 out of 5 of my five a day comes from vegetables.

I am cooking a sunday roast chicken. I am having me HeB choice for the chicken, and have a big pot of brocolli, cauli, carrots to cook, plus i am roasting potatoes, sweet potatoes, leeks, onions, peppers and parsnip as well. i will eat most of that as the kids prefer fruit and not veg. everyone else gets yorkshire puddings as well.
