Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

Someone on here suggested using a wide necked flask, adding pasta n sauce, boiling water and waiting 40 mins

12 minutes to go. Will it work? Wait and I iwll reveal all.....

bohemianbint · 05/02/2008 13:20

Happy Pancake Day everyone!

So come on - how much damage will a pancake binge do, any ideas?

MamaG · 05/02/2008 13:21

is a yorkshire pud 3 syns? I'd guess 3 syns per thin pancake (cooked with fry light!!)

have with banana (free!!)

and a few melted choc buttons

rough stagb - 6 syns altogether?

bohemianbint · 05/02/2008 13:23

oh wow, that's not as bad as I thought, I could have a couple then...and I am going swimming later.

MamaG · 05/02/2008 13:48

boh, that is a complete guess btw
don't quote me

The past an sauce thing was NICE! A bit thicker than usual, but really tasty

SWlurker · 05/02/2008 13:50

yay! Glad it worked MamaG it was meee that sugegsted it! I always guess on times so glad it worked

MamaG · 05/02/2008 13:51

YAY! Thanks swl

MamaG · 05/02/2008 13:51

oh and the flask cost me £2.83 from asda!

SWlurker · 05/02/2008 13:58

mine cost me all of £5 from asda!

I find it ends up making lunch at work so much cheaper - 80p or whatever pasta n sauces are (49p from home bargains!) compared to a few quid if you bought something.

I got really bored last night and downloaded all the ready cooked rices and syns and quorn stuff and their syns. Let me know if anyone would like them posting.

sugarlumps · 05/02/2008 14:46

right everyone before you get hooked on pancakes my syn directory says:
Pancakes made with skimmed milk cooked in veg oil
1 small = 8syns
1 medium = 14.5 syns
1 large 19.5 syns
i tried it with fry light the other day to keep laddo happy and they stuck everytime no matter how many squirts i used

katylou25 · 05/02/2008 18:29

Hmm maybe give the pancakes a miss then! Just wondering what everyones favourite free yogurts are - I'm not a huge fan of muller lights and begrudge paying their prices on a budget - got some lovely ones from LIdl but when I looked them up they are 6.5 syns each!!! How cant here be 6.5 syns in a low fat yogurt FFS! Anyway was having 2 or 3 of them a day, thinking they were free, so must have really blown it this week. So which ones do you like?

sugarlumps · 05/02/2008 18:46

the tesco fat free yougurts are free and i think they are about 26p each! i love the toffee ones but i think they are quite like muller lights!

skankywitch · 05/02/2008 18:50

Oh I feel such an idiot I only lost half a pound at weigh in this morning and was feeling a bit fed up about it, and I've just eaten 4 pancakes with various naughty toppings and loads of biscuits. I must of had 100's of syns. Am now feeling a little sick .

Anyone else pigged out on pancakes?

bohemianbint · 05/02/2008 18:59

14.5 syns for a medium?

Buggeration.

I don't care, I'm pregnant, the baby wants pancakes.

sugarlumps · 05/02/2008 19:32

well there's no way im going to lose this week not had pancakes, bit have just given into 2 chees cobs and a bag of crisps. my weight loss seems to have stopped this week even though i have been v good up til now (excluding sat night)
this always happens to me, as soon as it slows down i give into naughty tempting things,
and to make matters even worse i cant go to the loo, sorry if that sounds crude, but the amount of fibre im eating i should be going for britain!
Any idea's?????

I live on those savoury rices, its all I have for lunch most days and I still don't bored of them.
I cook them at home in the morning and then eat them cold at lunchtime, they still taste lovely. Its much better that eating bread thats for sure.

I had 3 little pancakes tonight, plus a curly wurly. I promise not to eat anything else tonight!

I have started my exercise regime. So far I am managing 10 minutes each night on the exercise bike. I was in agony today, but, I am going to continue with it.

nikkid21 · 05/02/2008 20:36

Re free yoghurts I like the Total 0% greek yoghurt. It's really thick and creamy and great on top of a baked apple or a banana cooked in foil. I also stir in a tablespoon of jam or mincemeat for 2 syns.
They are a bit pricey at 58p each in tesco.

SWlurker · 06/02/2008 08:36

First weigh in tonight after 2 weeks. My work trousers feel really loose this morning, but then they normally feel a bit loose (well, when I haven't put back on 1/2 stone! ) - really have no idea what to expect as have been going over syns a lot but also exercising a lot. Had a funny turn at aerobics last night - think its my bodie's way of telling me I'm overdoing it. pity because I'm really enjoying it.

MamaG · 06/02/2008 08:41

I didn' thave any pancakes (yay)

I had sw chips, egg and beans for dinner last night (yum) - I love that

Beadmum · 06/02/2008 09:37

so disappointed with myself, havent stuck to the plan since the weekend. Did very well on it yesterday then dh came home from cinema with almost a full bag of peanut m&m's and i just had to eat most of them with a cup of tea aarrrgg. Staying focused today, back on track and going to try and limit my syns for the rest of the week. Weigh in is on sat, hope i can salvage a bit and at least maintain rather than put on

Shhhh · 06/02/2008 14:19

good luck swlurker..let us know how you get on.

Well I have O pancakes yesterday... TBH I would rather have a bar of choc over a pancake anyday!!! No temptation for me...
I had a little bite of dh's though

I weigh in tomorrow, its ds 1st birthday tomorrow so I intend to weigh in BEFORE I consume a large amount of chocolate cake .

Keep going everyone.....keeping thinking of the summer and being much much fitter & lighter . xx

sugarlumps · 06/02/2008 17:04

well the problem of not going has been solved today!!! finally! been really good today, bought an excercise bike, not sure how often i'll use it but i've done 7km today - about killed me lol think i burnt off more calories putting the damn thing together lol
weigh in 2moro [scared...very scared] lol
will let you all know how i get on!
good luck everyone!

kid · 06/02/2008 20:16

I have started using my exercise bike too sugarlumps. Tonight was my 3rd night using it, I started off on 10 minutes and tonight managed 15 minutes. I have cycled 12 1/2 miles since Monday.
I am hoping to do at least 10 minutes on it a day, if I can manage more then I will but its so difficult as I am so unfit!
