Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

Ledodgy · 31/01/2008 23:28

Hi, i started SW 4 weeks ago and i have just got to my stone, however i am going into the hospital with DS for roughly 3 weeks and will only have acsess to a microwave and very limited fridge/freezer space. Any ideas for meals and snacks so i can carry on with the plan?

misdee · 01/02/2008 10:21

oh poor ds, is he having another brochothingy done? (cant spell it) or mroe IV's?

i think asda do some snack pot thingys which are free on green. also ainsley hariots cous cous packs are free or low syn. i like quorn cracked pepper fillets, they come frozen and can be cooked in the microwave.

Morgan · 01/02/2008 11:32

Hi everyone - some great weight losses in a month well done all. Having my first red day today - and had a fry up at lunch time with bacon, egg and mushrooms and toast as HEb. Not sure what doing for tea. Have discovered those Alpen light bars here - are they two for HEb then? Someone tell me are you allowed 2 Hea and 3Hebs a day?

Beadmum · 01/02/2008 11:33

fantastic losses, ive lost 5.5lbs since 3rd jan

Beadmum · 01/02/2008 11:35

morgan- afraid its 2 hea and 2 heb, its been mentioned on this thread that 2 alpen light bars count as 1 heb though. Will have to go and buy some soon since everyones talking about them

misdee · 01/02/2008 11:38

i'm off to my first aquafit class i na month shortly.

my legs will be like jelly afterwards as its quite hard work really.

will pop into asda and look for alpen bars, will take my book with me and check i am getting the right ones.

SWlurker · 01/02/2008 12:38

Hi all. Today will be my 6th day of exercise - normally go to fitness class twice a week, but myself and a friend have discovered the joys of playing squash when you're both RUBBISH and are slightly addicted now! going to gym induction on saturday and sunday have riding lesson, god I hope the weight comes off next weds - didn't go this week because I was away with work. Not sure how well I will have done, went over syns quite a lot this week, but then exercise, so we'll see. Really want to be v good this week.

Charlee, how about getting yourself a wide-necked food flask from asda (about £5 I think, or other places do them too) and getting in loads of stocks of mug shots, pasta n sauces, Cous cous and savoury rice. All you need to do is add hot water to the flask to cover up the food and leave for...

Pasta n sauce - about 20-30 mins
Cous cous - about 5-10 mins
Savoury rice - about 30-40 mins
Mug shots - make in a mug rather than the flask and should be ready in 5 mins

You could take your own bowl and spoon if needed? and a packet of weetabix or cereal and long life skim milk might come in handy too., as will hifi's, fruit, tins of soup that are HE's.

As you can tell I'm a green girl so afraid I don't have any red ideas!

Right, off to check on my own pasta n sauce!

Shhhh · 01/02/2008 14:17

well done to the weight losses..! well at last I have lost more than 2lb..! Yesterday saw me 2 lb lighter. . Yeah!!! I have "messed" around with my a's and heb so I think that helped and I have mixed my days and cut back on choc/syns.....I am determined to get slim for the summer...

Since the 3rd= 4.5 lbs.

nikkid21 · 01/02/2008 15:07

Went to starbucks this morning and thought I would treat myself to a couple of biscuits there. I went for the most boring ones I could see - a two back of biscotti. 127cal each so I figured it would be abour 8 / 10 syns for the two. Just looked it up and they are 12 syns each
Can't believe that I wasted 24 syns on two plain biscuits.

Fireflyfairy2 · 01/02/2008 15:12

Nikki!! Omg I never in a million years would have thought that there were that many syns in 2 biscuits!!

Charlee · 01/02/2008 15:13

Misdee - More i.v's he is in urgent need of a portacath but is to unwell to have the op so its 2 weeks of i.v's in local hospital then up to the Brompton for the op then back to local again for more i.v's. Thanks for the suggestions!

SWlurker - Thanks for the suggestions i am really enjoying SW and i want to keep it up even whilst im in the hospital. The loacal hospital should be ok i will have plenty of company and be close to home but when were in london i know nobody and the lonlyness combined with the boredom gets to me and i start munching!

me23 · 01/02/2008 15:18

hi haven't been on these threads for a few weeks. I've lost 6lbs since 3rd jan.
I only do green days as I'm veggie.
anyone have any low syn or syn free veggie recipes I could try? I'm running out of ideas.

also any desert recipes?

sugarlumps · 01/02/2008 15:37

hey there me23, haev you tried batchelors rice? 1/2 - 1 syn each pack.
i have been having them for a while but got a bit bored of them, so to add a bit of zing i've been adding quorn chunks while its boiling and loads more veg. the mild curry flavoured rice is really really nice with quorn, corgettes, sweetcorn, a bit of onion and some cauliflower, but i add a half a spoon of mild curry powder to it too.

made that for my friend for lunch today and she said she couldnt believe i could eat that and lose weight.

im going to try the chinese rice 2moro with the same principle, but add pineapple bamboo shoots, water chesnuts and beansprouts. and prob lashingd of soy sauce

they are really simpl and only take about 15 mins to do. [grin[ BONUS!
