Hi everyone. New thread as promised. A little later than planned but I'm blaming celebrating too much last night.
I wish I could say it was a good start but I'm feeding my hangover today so looks like I'm going to start tomorrow.
Is everyone feeling motivated?

changed my mind they are horrible.... well, not horrible but i think the recipie needs some adapting, not a lot of flavour and a bit dry, more spices and something else needed! i'll work on them and let you all know!

Diege · 27/01/2008 15:34

LOL SUGARLUPMPS . You had my mouth watering there, and I was already imagining them cooking in my oven! Maybe not now then...

Shhhh · 27/01/2008 15:42

LL, just making the choc cake now . Verdicts in a mo.....

kid · 27/01/2008 19:07

I went out for a meal last night and ate far too much. I didn't mind though as I really enjoyed it.
I had a few drinks too so I will be expecting my first gain this week when I weigh myself in the morning. Nevermind, I will see a loss next week instead.

saselm · 27/01/2008 22:01

does anyone have any recipes for green day desserts not using weetabix bran flakes etc

Fireflyfairy2 · 27/01/2008 22:30

Oh my good god above.. my legs are kiling me... My sister made me run 5 miles this morning. Well, we walked/ran walked/ran... then when we got back to her house we did 30 stomach exercises... & she was going her 'proper' run at 2pm!!

Breakfast: Banana & grapes

dinner: Roast beef [heB] potatoes, roasties, brocolli, cauliflower, carrots, sprouts, peas & gravy. [syns]

Then I had a migrain as we were painting dd's bedroom so I slept for 3 hours... woke up & had beans & toast [heB]

Just had a pkt of chilli crisp thingys.. 5 syns

Back to uni tomorrow so back into routine again

What about the chickpea cake - not sure I still have the recipe but believe me it doesn't taste like chickpeas!!

You might want to try what I have been meaning to for a while. Adapted from a delia special...

Chop some banana
Cover with a free yoghurt - original recipe used greek yoghurt but I reckon either VLF ordinary yoghurt or toffee mullerlight would work
Sprinkle instant coffee (not made up) over the surface - not too much!
sprinkle over it all with brown sugar

leave in fridge for a couple of hours - the coffee and sugar will melt with the yoghurt into a lovely sauce

mmm - you'd just have to syn the sugar.

Have been meaning to make this for ages, but since today I was tempted by the butty lady at work and didn't realise the whole thing would be SLATHERED in mayonaise don't think I have any syns to spare

Superspeeed dinner for me it is then!
Was so chuffed with myself this weekend, stayed within syns allowance but had a lovely time. Went for long horse ride on Sunday and my friend dragged me to squash for an hour last night - it was such a giggle we were both hopeless but it was good fun and we sweated - although I think being out of breath had more to do with us laughing too much!!

Going away with work this week... dum dum duuuum! am confident about eating good choices on the journey to and from and in the hotel as am by myself for those and have planned. I am making up a travelling kit full of free food (no point in taking low syn things I'd just eat too many of them!) - smash, cous cous, babybells etc. got a food flask that cooks pasta n sauce and rice very nicely too. Those can all be sorted with a kettle, the thing is I'm quite looking forward to a mini-camping in my room adventure and might get carried away and take a toaster and george foreman too!! Wonder if I'd set the fire alarms off...

That just leaves the dreaded "catered for" lunchtimes. if I take plenty of fruit with me hopefully I won't be too peckish and will make sensible choices. Good grief its hard trying to be organised!!!

saselm · 28/01/2008 13:15

Sunshine78 · 28/01/2008 13:42

Not been about for a while but need some support got really disheartned last wed when only lost 1/2 pound (I know it's still a loss) So Fri/Sat allowed my self to binge big time and miss going to the gym am now feeling really really guilty and trying to get back on track - not easy as missing meeting this week to go out for a meal and got a meal out Saturday as well. sugarlumps · 28/01/2008 16:18

i think i've just had a eureeka moment!!!!
since starting this diet i have been craving quiche. i love it! so tonight im going to have it! well not really i'm going to get a jacket potato and hollow it out then bake it for a wee while, then add the quiche mixture to it! all free! yummy yummy yummy! i say free.. milk and cheese as healthy extras...not used anywhere near the allowance so thats good too! oooooooooooo i cant wait for dinner! i'll let you all know how it goes!

Fireflyfairy2 · 28/01/2008 17:39

If you make up a packet of that free pasta & line the quiche dish, then pour in eggs, tomatoes & mushrooms, cheese, whatever you want... the pasta acts as a crust for the quiche. You can have it warm or cold, it's nice either way

misdee · 28/01/2008 17:45

i really fancied a quiche the other day, and i dont usually like quiche. can someone post a basic fillings recipie please?

i weigh in in two days time. i am really worried as that first stone seems so elusive to me. i know once i get there then the mental block will go, and i will go downwards quicker.

am upping the exercise this week, and seeing how much i can do realistically without over doing it. i did a very short run today, as my knee is hurting, might get the bike out tomorrow, then run again weds, have a break thursday, aquafit friday then another run on saturday.

i only do 20-30mins at ta time and do go slowly as am really unfit.

Fireflyfairy2 · 28/01/2008 18:26

Basic filling recipe for quiche... whatever you want in it I think.

I like (eggs obviously) added tomatoes, mushrooms, onions I also chop up bacon as a HEb & add it, if you mix herbs & spices to it, it adds flavour also.

My sister puts aubergine & courgettes in hers & red onion & peppers... you can put whatever you want in it

I really admire you with the running... I walked 5 mins & ran 1 yesterday & I feel it all over today...

Have also got a huge gym ball her to work out with

sugarlumps · 28/01/2008 18:29

i just tried my size 12 trousers on and they fit i can do them up and everything!!!!!!! slightly on the tight side bit hasnt half given me a boost!!!
recipie for quiche hmmmm..... i cant remmeber mine, um it was 3 eggs beaten with a small can of evaperated milk? not the sweet stuff the other one,(i never can remember which is which) yuo can use ordinary milk, everyone else i know does but the recipie i had said to use that stuff. then add your fillings, i normally use cheese and bacon. well thats the filling for highland flan, its basically the same thing as quiche tho just got a fancy name!
you do a lot of excercise misdee the only excercise i get is walking to and from nursery and runnning round the pub i work at like a headless chicken lol

I knew I would gain this week. Not only did I overeat, I allowed myself some alcohol so I knew I would gain. But, it was only 1lb on, could have been so much worse!

Back on track today, I am hoping for a loss next week. I really enjoyed my chinese meal though, just hope I don't fall into the trap of dieting Mon to Fri and then blow it at the weekend.

andyrobo237 · 28/01/2008 19:41

Yippee - reporting a 2 and a half ound weight loss this week!!!!!!

Only 2.5 lbs to my next half stone (that will be 1.5 total) and only 1.5 to my Club ten - would like to lose the 2.5 lbs this week, but would be happy with acheiving the club ten!

I have decided that I will severely limit my snacks this week - especially of the sweet kind - I have planned on sugar free jelly and melon chunks while I am in work!

I am also doing some extra exercise this week - I did a long hour walk on Saturday while DD was at dance class - the baby slept and I worked out - one of the mums from school saw me, and commented upon the speed I was going - she said I looked like I was on a mission! Well it did some good!

I have made a lamb casserole for tea tomorrow - out of the 7 day planner in this months mag - it smells fab (I have put potato in as a HE on red day) and will be so quick for tomorrow!

Keep up the good work ladies - must go and enter my weight on the online site!

Sparkler · 28/01/2008 20:58

I'm not doing well.
Considering stopping going to group again. This is my fifth time of joining a group and I said would be my last. If I stop now I will never go back. Since Christmas I haven't been following the plan at all. Been having small weight losses or maintains - which is good I know but to pay £4.50 a week and not follow it is a waste.
I so need to lose weight though.

OP posts:
kid · 28/01/2008 21:24

Hang in there Sparkler, at least by still attending you are having small losses or maintaining. If you stop going, would you be following SW at all?
I do know what you mean about having to pay the money each week and not having a big loss to show for it. Are they being supportive at the group or giving you ideas on what else you could do to ensure you stick with it?

I have taken up walking again. Not far but more than I used to do. Basically, I used to catch the bus to work but I have now been walking, faster than usual too. I realised that the 25 minute walk can actually be done in 5 or 10 minutes, so thats how long I intend to let it take from now on.

Oh Sparkler - keep going even if it is just with the plan and ditch the class if it is not giving you the support you need - there is an abundance of support here!

I would recommend getting weighed at a chemist or the like where you can get a print out of your weight - no room for cheating, or false results on the scales (not suggesting or implying at all that you would do this, but at least it is in black and white), and also put the money away each week that you would have paid for class, and use it to treat yourself for every 5 lbs lost.

You are so like me - I have been to WW and SW numerous times - wouldnt even like to add up how much money I have spent, but I have finally come tp the conclusion that I like going to class as it is very social and the ladies are lovely, and I need that human contact. Most of my friends are slim and dont do diets - and I am sticking to this until the bitter end, even if it is 3 years down the line - I have been this weight for over 6 years now, and have just got to my lowest weight for 7 years - and still have 2 stone more to lose - I lose about 2 - 3 pounds per month, but if I did not go, the 18 pounds that I have lost so far would go straight back on, with even more, I'm sure.

Come on lets get Sparkler back on track!

igd · 28/01/2008 22:06

Just looking for a bit of advice. Had been doing sw plan before xmas for about 6 weeks with no results. I stopped at xmas for two weeks and have been back on it again for the past three weeks. I seem to lose a pound one week, put a pound on the next and am heavier now than when I started the plan. I thought that coming off it at xmas and then going back on would have given me the kick start my body obviously needs. I had previously been a target member and the diet had worked for me, so i know how to do the plan but this time it doesn't seem to be. I do green days every day, use between 6 and 10 syns per day, eat my two HEas and HEbs every day. I Gave my consultant my diaries for the last two weeks, she said they are 100%. This week I have a pound on even though I have been following the plan. Anybody got any suggestions as to what I'm doing wrong.
