10lbs in 10 weeks- anyone else?

Heartbeats0708 · 13/01/2022 20:48

Evening all
I'd like to lose 10lbs in 10 weeks. I'm hoping this is doable! I wanted to lose about a stone anyway but would be happy with anything above 7lbs.

I've been struggling a bit with motivation so hoping the event in 10 weeks will motivate me.
Stats: 5'6", 11st.
No 'plan' as such, I can't exercise much due to an injury but hoping to start a weekly swim.
Wine consumption has crept up and portion size is way out I'm sure, so that's where I'll start.
Anyone want to join me?

Thank you TakeSomeMoreTea and good luck tomorrow!

Heartbeats that should have said ‘I think that’s a good idea’ above, re fizzy drink

I couldn’t be bothered at lunchtime so had 2 slices of seeded toast and lurpak. Fitbit seems to think I’ve done 3hr 20 of ‘fat burn’ today and burned 900 cals, so I felt like I deserved the carbs 😆

Tuna and salad for dinner, and it was just a banana and coffee as a late breakfast, so well within calories for today, before I even include my exercise (which I don’t).

I’ve roasted a whole tray of courgette, onion, garlic, peppers and tomatoes, so that’s gone in the fridge for lunches and I’ll add some wholemeal couscous tomorrow.

Heartbeats0708 · 27/01/2022 17:49

I feel exhausted just reading about all this exercise! I had a bit of a walk today (finished isolation) but I bet I was only out for 20 minutes. I also did a supermarket run and that wore me out for the rest of the day.
@Sunsetsupernova yes that's exactly when I crack a can of fizzy open, stops me from snacking before dinner. I've had some no sugar squash (very diluted) instead, weaning myself on to the water Blush but importantly I didn't buy any with my shopping.
Need to decide on some dinner, so much choice now my fridge is full!

Another good day ...I turned down biscuits 3 times at work (I'm a teacher and there are always biscuits about). I had a bonus evening with DP today and instead of ordering a takeaway like he usually would when I'm there he cooked a prawn stir fry as I have explained how much my weight gain has bothered me.

Lupinspotato · 28/01/2022 08:19

Checking in here for accountability. I’ve been feeling under the weather this week so allowing more treats and not exercising. I’m feeling almost better (just exhausted) so I need to get back to it now. I‘m currently 11 stone so down 4lbs from the beginning of Jan so not all bad.

I also have a Diet Coke in the afternoon sometimes as a treat. Not ideal but better than hitting the biscuits hard!

SingaporeSlinky · 28/01/2022 11:27

@MercuryRising well done, that’s great willpower to keep turning down biscuits. It must be hard when they’re on offer at work all the time. It’s a bit easier at home to put things out of sight, but if they’re out for everyone to nibble on, then you’re doing well to avoid them!
And it’s lovely that your DP was so supportive.

@Lupinspotato 4lbs this month is great! Glad you’re almost better.

I’ve just come back from a 2 hour walk so I’ve hit 11,500 steps already. Really aching from my aerobics class yesterday and a little bit weak by the time I got home, but I’d only had water this morning and nothing to eat since dinner at 6pm last night. Going to take it easy the rest of the day. Plan is yoghurt with granola, berries and honey for lunch and then I’m making a wholemeal flour quiche with bacon, spinach and broccoli for dinner.

Went to the gym. I weighed 10 stone 9 this evening so 2 lbs over than I weighed Wednesday morning at home. They did all my other checks and I'm in the healthy brackets but obviously room to improve.

He did say the gym is only a part of weight loss so going to cut down on alcohol and eat healthier and walk the dogs for longer too. I'm aiming for gym 3 to 4 days a week.

I do find if I cut out crisps and the weekly take away I do eat quite healthy so here goes.

Dumfee · 29/01/2022 08:07

Well done everyone! I stayed at 10st 11lbs but have actually tried this week to cut down on portion sizes and carbs, I'm hoping to see a difference at Monday's weigh-in.

We've just discovered Zero Noodles - they're amazing and I can't believe how low-cal they are!

Heartbeats0708 · 29/01/2022 17:21

Gosh I'd forgotten about zero noodles and zero pasta- is it still only in Holland and Barrett?
My period is on its way and my usual answer is to curl up and feed it. Made an effort to get out today but food hasn't been perfect, will see how things stand on Monday but not holding out much hope since even my perfect weeks haven't resulted in a loss!

Weighed in at 10st 0 today, I’ll weigh in again on Monday since it’s the 31st January. But so far I’m half a stone down this month so I’m very happy with that.
I’ve splurged a bit today by having an indulgent pudding after dinner, which has taken me 600 cals over my 1200 target. But it was a rare treat and I’ve earned it by doing tons of exercise this week.
I’ll have a more sensible day tomorrow to make up for it and I’ve signed up for 3 gym classes next week.

Heartbeats0708 · 31/01/2022 07:23

I think I'm going to have to stop weighing at home, my scales are too unreliable. I've either lost a pound or gained 3! Can't be sure which.
I'm hoping to start a weekly swim or aqua fit class (possibly this week, depending when my pass comes) and hopefully there will be scales at the pool.

Official weigh in this morning weighed 12.9 - 5 pounds off this week 💪 Which is great but shows how much rubbish I was eating. I'm feeling motivated. Good luck this week everyone.

Redcrayons · 31/01/2022 09:07

Looks like I found that pound I lost last week. Sad
Not surprising as I had a night out on Saturday which spilt over to some hangover eating yesterday.

Back on it today.

Redcrayons · 31/01/2022 09:07

Well done everyone else.

SingaporeSlinky · 31/01/2022 11:14

Well done to those that have lost!

Weighing in at 10st 0 today so half a stone lost in January.
Already been to the gym this morning and having some Greek yoghurt with granola, flax and chia seeds for early lunch. Spag bol for dinner.

New goal for February is to lose 5lbs which I hope is realistic.

Lupinspotato · 01/02/2022 16:06

Congratulations on the loses everyone.

Same redcrayons. I’ve let things slide this week so I’m going to make an effort to post more to make sure I stay on target for this week. I’ve also put on 1 or so, so I think my loss for January was 3.5 lbs. So not quite on target for 10lbs in 10 weeks but still a loss overall.

I’ve been out for a run and now just need to make sure I don’t snack before dinner!

Heartbeats0708 · 02/02/2022 19:28

How's this week going?
I think I lost a pound in Jan Blush but to be honest I'm just grateful to have lost something, I thought it was just poor effort from me but for whatever reason my weight loss is slow.
I've been loosely following slimming word principles after talking about it on here, and breakfast seems to be agreeing with me at the moment so I have a little more energy.

Weighed in at 9st 13 today, so 8lbs total loss. Got my period yesterday and it doesn’t seem to have affected my weight, for once. Hoping it’s the sensible diet.
My gym class got cancelled yesterday but I did a session anyway and booked in again tomorrow.
Lunch today was plain yoghurt, raspberries and granola. Dinner was chicken and veg stir fry with rice noodles.

Heartbeats0708 · 02/02/2022 20:19

That fantastic @SingaporeSlinky well done! It must feel great to be in the 9s?!
I'm still waiting for my pass to be delivered so I can go to the gym/swim at a discounted rate, but I took DC swimming yesterday anyway. It's not much in terms of exercise but reminded me how nice it feels to be in the water.

SingaporeSlinky · 02/02/2022 20:31

Thank you Heartbeats I still feel like I need to lose quite a bit more, I still have a big tummy, but I’m finally seeing the loss in my legs and bum, so it’s not just the scales.
Yes if I can stay under the 10st I’ll be really happy, I’ve definitely worked for it! Literally 1200 cals or less every day since I started on around 7th Jan. I had one day last weekend when I went over, but even then it was 1800 cals. So between that, and joining the gym, and no snacks, I feel like I deserve to see the number go down 😀

Hope the pass turns up soon, I’m not a very strong swimmer, but if you enjoy it, it’s great exercise.

SingaporeSlinky · 03/02/2022 11:25

How’s everyone doing?
Did a 45 minute gym class this morning, plus about 25 mins walk each way.
Had a coffee, some yoghurt, granola, banana and goji berries when I got back. Dinner will be sausages, roasted butternut squash and green beans. I bought some mint flavoured green tea the other day instead of my usual lemon one, but I’m not sure I like it. Got 49 more bags to get through now 😂

TakeSomeMoreTea · 03/02/2022 12:09

I'm doing absolute rubbish.

Had a Chinese takeaway at the weekend then I've been ill so haven't started the gym then went out last night and drank too much wine.

So starting again. I'm going to log back into my Fitness Pal as that is how I did it last time and stick to 1200 calories.

Well done everyone who has lost.

SingaporeSlinky · 03/02/2022 12:49

Oh dear @TakeSomeMoreTea, although if you just had the takeaway once and one night of wine, I wouldn’t think of it as starting again. Just carrying on, you’re allowed a splurge now and again. Have you been following the plan other than those 2 times?
I do find MFP really helpful, and I tend to log my whole day’s food in the morning, then I know if I’ve got anything leftover, or if I need to cut down somewhere.

TakeSomeMoreTea · 03/02/2022 12:56

Some days I've not eaten enough some days as felt ill. I'll try that with MFP, planning what I'm eating for each day.

I'm hoping the weather is OK Saturday morning as I want to take the dog out on our long route which I really enjoy and there is big hill so I get a good exercise.

TakeSomeMoreTea · 03/02/2022 12:57

Sorry about that first sentence - some days x 2 ?????

MercuryRising · 06/02/2022 20:13

Hi all. I hope you all had good weekends. This was my childfree weekend so I drank wine but I stuck to healthy meals and ran on Saturday morning so I'm really hoping for a loss still this week.
