Mutual support thread for people with a lot of weight to lose. Part III

This is a mutual support thread for people who have a lot of weight to lose. The original thread started with a poster who wanted to lose 9 stone and has evolved from diet advice to offering each other mutual long term support. Most of us have started in the morbid obese range or with a BMI in the high 30's (ish).
Everyone is welcome, regardless of where you are on your 'journey'. We have some inspiring stories. But also lots of us are muddling along, sometimes doing well and sometimes not so well.
We're all at different points. Some have lost lots of weight and are now maintaining. Others part way through a big weight loss and others starting out. We try to offer encouragement, congratulations or consolations where needed. We are respectful of different approaches and recognise that everyone has their own unique set of circumstances.

STS is still good, @ScottishBeth !

ScottishBeth · 29/01/2022 13:42

Seems like it's been very quiet here! I hope everyone is ok!

I am down 1.1kg to 84.4. I am really pleased with that. Hopefully it will continue.

Roussette · 30/01/2022 01:34

Hi ScottishBeth!

All good here, we're away and eating and drinking toooo much, hope everyone is keeping on course!

Babiesandalesbian · 30/01/2022 15:44

A NSV on a dreary Sunday. I’ve lost 3inches from my hips woo. And 2 inches off each upper arm and a few inch or half inch off everywhere else woo.

Super happy and I also managed to walk nearly a mile at a pace of 22.5minutes per mile. Usually I average 26-28 minutes per mile.

Babiesandalesbian · 30/01/2022 15:55

Sorry forgot to say that’s since the beginning of January. The measurements.

Wombatsandstuff · 30/01/2022 15:56

Oops forgot to name change, it’s me wombats lol.

SnowyMouse · 30/01/2022 18:36

Well done @Wombatsandstuff ! That's great NSV and the mile pace!

Roussette · 30/01/2022 21:51

My DD kept telling me to measure but I'm hopeless at it!

Thank you, I got a renpho tape measure. It connects to an app and becomes a circular tape measure. Super easy

ScottishBeth · 31/01/2022 18:15

@wombatsandstuff well done on your measurements and on the weight loss! That is amazing!

@Rebuildingconfidence I hope the house move went well, and you're enjoying your new place! And well done on the weight loss, especially with the stress of moving.

Wombatsandstuff · 31/01/2022 22:19

I’ve also just done some converting and I’ve lost 40lbs. Which sounds like a lot.

Thanks @Wombatsandstuff , I'm pleased as I had an STS last week.

ScottishBeth · 02/02/2022 09:37

Fantastic loss after a STS @SnowyMouse

40lb is loads @Wombatsandstuff Hope you feel really good about it!

I had a meal out last night. Not weighing till Saturday, so hopefully that's long enough to still lose if the rest of the week I eat well.

I am really pleased, it’s the happiest I’ve been in ages lol.

I’m even planning skiing. Not been for 6 years and I’m now at the weight I was when I last went skiing. Going to glenshee next week and hopefully Europe next month if covid is okay.

ScottishBeth · 06/02/2022 12:30

@Wombatsandstuff skiing will be amazing. Fingers crossed for you!

I'm a STS this week, but not to worry. I tend to have a couple of hours to kill on a Tuesday after work, and I've filled them by eating, which isn't helping. So I've been doing some research and have found a cafe open late, where I can do some knitting. I think that'll be better.

SnowyMouse · 08/02/2022 14:29

Here's my Tuesday weigh in:

SW: 15 stone 4
CW: 12 stone 6 (7 feb, 1.75 lb loss)
GW: 11 stone 9 (overweight bmi)

ScottishBeth · 09/02/2022 12:00

Well done @SnowyMouse, looks like you're doing really well. You're not too far from your target, too.

SnowyMouse · 09/02/2022 12:06

Thank you!

Toofatforskiing · 11/02/2022 15:30

I went for a two mile walk just now. It was easier than I thought it was going to be. Woo. I haven’t walked that far since the first lockdown when I was 15kg heavier and I did it 10 minutes quicker than I did during the first lockdown.
