Just over 14 weeks until Christmas, lose a stone with me.

I have decided to try and sort myself out. I am fat, frumpy and so so fed up.

It is just over 14 weeks until Christmas, I am hoping to lose a stone by then. Surely I can manage to lose 1lb per week.

Anyone want to join me, I realise this is short notice!

Should have added details, I’m 42, 5ft 6 and around 160lb right now, still in most of my size 12 clothes but weight seems to be mostly on my bum and thighs coz my slimmer leg trousers are horrific on me

veryanonymous · 19/09/2021 14:29

Hello, please can I join too?

My weight today is 68.5kg / 10st 11lb.

I am “skinny fat” - my bmi is normal but my body fat percentage is high, I’m wobbly and flabby all over, no strength whatsoever.

I want to lose a dress size and get rid of the rolls ‘round my middle. I think losing about a stone should do it!

My plan is to eat healthily (not strictly calorie controlled but cut out all the junk), give intermittent fasting a go and exercise every day. I am also going to try Yoga to build up some muscle.

pinkpip100 · 19/09/2021 15:45

@veryanonymous I'm very similar - everyone assumes I'm slim but under my clothes there is way too much wobble. I would love to lose 3/4-1 stone but am really rubbish at knowing where to start.

veryanonymous · 19/09/2021 16:52

We can do this @pinkpip100 ! I’ve found it hard to get motivated sometimes because not being technically overweight, it’s so easy for me to give in to temptation and think it ‘can’t hurt’. But it DOES hurt, and slowly but surely it is all catching up with me, specifically in the form of a big wobbly muffin top, rolls of back-fat and pudgy knees!
I am determined to make a change. I’m making it more about health and about feeling good in my skin/clothes than about weight, although I do think if I can get rid of a stone it will be a sign I am doing something right!

PhoenixReincarnated · 19/09/2021 16:57

@Rainallnight brilliant! Glad you kept going even though it wasn't the best start. Hope your DD is okay.

@Lockdownbear fingers crossed that you haven't gained but even if you have keep at it. It will go down if you do. The last thing you want to do is be saying, in three months time, if I'd kept it up I could have lost x amount. I use MFP. It's a bit of a faff but it keeps me on track. You have to find what works for you which may be something completely different.

Welcome to all newbies Smile

CornishTiger · 19/09/2021 16:58

I’m in. Maybe even lose two. I am very overweight!

orangejuicer · 19/09/2021 17:13

@Lockdownbear

My official weight in day is Monday but I think I've gained this week.Sad As usual fell of the wagon on week two.

What is every doing to actually loose weight? Week 1 I lost using 16:8 fasting but struggled not to eat rubbish this week.

Questioning is weight watchers worth trying. I get really fed up logging everything with MFP.

The old no count WW plan might be worth a look. I also hate logging everything.
pinkpip100 · 19/09/2021 17:36

@veryanonymous exactly this!! I never seem quite motivated enough! But yes - we can do it!

FflosFfantastig · 19/09/2021 18:37

@Summerunlover I am sure this helps focus us. I am waiting for a date for an operation too they say it will be at least 8 months wait so I thought I would use the 8 months to get fitter and hopefully recover quicker! Best of luck with your weight loss.

cheeseisthebest · 19/09/2021 18:58

Sorry very late to this will read through the whole thread properly but yes I want to lose a stone before Xmas!

LSOTW · 20/09/2021 06:52

Weigh in day today - right on track with a pound loss . Slow and steady hopefully wins the race . My son has allergies and between that and dieting find I am always thinking in some way or another about food .This time decided not to do any sort of diet plan and eat what I typically do but just increase the veg side of it and reduce the portion size of the rest and track the calories . If also got into the habit of a glass of wine every night and a cafe latte in the morning so knocking that out . Looking forward to seeing everyone else's progress - how great will it be if we all manage it :))

PhoenixReincarnated · 20/09/2021 07:13

@LSOTW fantastic, well done Smile

I was supposed to weigh in this morning and completely forgot Blush On my way to work now so I'll have to do it tomorrow morning instead.

Good luck everyone. We can do this 🍀👍

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 20/09/2021 07:22

Weighed in this morning at 17 stone 9. That's 6lbs off this week, so a total of 13 lbs in two weeks Grin

Disclaimer: I'm on a diabetes medication which suppresses appetite and Ritalin for ADHD, which suppresses appetite as a side effect but also makes me less idiotically impulsive so it's a bit easier to make sensible decisions.

Keladrythesaviour · 20/09/2021 08:21

Welcome joiners Grin
I hope everyone is ready for a new week, how are we all weighing in?
I weighed this morning at 11st 7lbs, so hoping for 11st 5lbs by next Sunday, though I'll accept 11st 6lbs.
We can do this!
Started as I mean to go on with scrambled eggs (no butter or milk) and some salad for breakfast and a very small glass (100ml) of orange juice. Rice noodles and veg for lunch and chicken curry for dinner. Yum!

MrsSoft · 20/09/2021 08:33

Morning and hello to the new losers.

Really good progress is being made by you all, this thread is really helping me stay motivated.

Let's keep at it.

Happy Monday everyone, hope you all have a lovely week and stay on track!

Went to a kids birthday party. Might have eaten sausage rolls (only two though!) and a teeny bit of birthday cake 🙈
Not off to the best start! On the plus side I didn’t
Have the tea I planned when I came home. I wasn’t hungry and didn’t need it. Just had some
Fruit for supper.
Previously, I’d have stuffed my tea regardless so
I guess trying to pull it back is a victory of sorts? X

Heathcliff27 · 20/09/2021 19:35

Evening all, first weekly weigh in for me since I began cutting out snacks last week and 2lb off. Would have liked a bit more but if I keep taking a couple of lb off each week I'll be happy Grin

Mum5net · 20/09/2021 20:46

I stayed the same

LSOTW · 21/09/2021 06:06

Thankyou! Good luck for today and rest of week Smile

Georgie2018 · 21/09/2021 12:59

Well done everyone 👏

I'm down another pound so now at 18st 8lb, obviously would like to lose more, but if I continue with 1lb a week a loss is a loss and its still a stone by Christmas so all going in the right direction

Keladrythesaviour · 21/09/2021 13:11

11st 6lbs this morning so a lb down Grin back to my pre-pub jaunt Wink

Hoping for another lb this week. Starving today though... Off to work now though which will stop me mithering about it so much.

MrsSoft · 21/09/2021 18:38

Just checking in.

I'm really pleased that we are still here and sticking to the plan.

@Mum5net it doesn't matter that you stayed the same weight, anything that isn't a gain is a win. Fingers crossed for next weigh day.

I've had toothache for two days which has put me off eating too much. It's my first ever toothache and I really don't like it.

Got dentist tomorrow afternoon which I am not looking forward to.

Cantstopeatingchocolate · 21/09/2021 20:48

I'd love to join too.
Been concentrating on losing weight for the last 3 months and so far 1st and 4lbs down. So not very fast but no gains
48, 5ft 8 and 17st.
Put on almost two stone between Mar '20 and Jun '21, so another stone before Xmas will bring me back to pre COVID weight.
Then looking at another 5 stone (hopefully)
I'm happy going slow and steady.

Rainallnight · 21/09/2021 21:24

Thank you @PhoenixReincarnated, that’s really kind, and thanks to PPs for the encouragement Smile

I’ve kept on trucking and lost two pounds. Did a boxing class this morning - on the plus side, I could practically feel the fat melting away. On the downside, I can barely move!

Rainallnight · 21/09/2021 21:25

@Cantstopeatingchocolate, that’s lots to have lost already, bravo! I think slow and steady is the right way to go.
