I have decided to try and sort myself out. I am fat, frumpy and so so fed up.

It is just over 14 weeks until Christmas, I am hoping to lose a stone by then. Surely I can manage to lose 1lb per week.

Anyone want to join me, I realise this is short notice!

Thanks @BasicMadeira. Yes!!! Let’s keep this going in January. Lord knows I’ll need accountability and motivation!! Xx

roomfulloflove · 21/11/2021 17:17

Just saw this and it made me laugh 😆

I'll weigh in tomorrow. Been all over the place last week so not expecting anything dramatic tomorrow

Just over 14 weeks until Christmas, lose a stone with me.
Hartleyhare1206 · 21/11/2021 18:03

Blabbermouth93 · 22/11/2021 10:01

Hartleyhare1206 · 22/11/2021 10:19

Hi @Blabbermouth93 welcome to the party 🥳🥳🥳

Blabbermouth93 · 22/11/2021 12:33

Thank you 🙏 x

Hartleyhare1206 · 22/11/2021 12:43

@Blabbermouth93 although I’m only fractionally taller than you and would be thrilled to be 11.6 so maybe we aren’t going to be dieting soulmates 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Blabbermouth93 · 22/11/2021 13:25

I got to 14st with my 4th child 🙄 lol I went to the slimming clinic and got down to 11.6 with them I’m now mixing weight watchers and calorie counting I hate diets 😳😂

Mum5net · 24/11/2021 17:50

Hello @Blabbermouth93 and my lovely thread chums.
Another one who is 5ft 5 ish and likes to hoola hoop . I’ve hit a wall. Been almost same weight for over a week and fed up denying myself for not even a hint of a loss.
Even rocked up steps to 16k plus and no obvious benefit. Sorry to moan Grin
But I hope you family and work jugglers are having a better time.
Dog at day 24 of season so things will improve I hope

Blabbermouth93 · 25/11/2021 17:11

@Mum5net arghh it’s so infuriating isn’t it I’m
Trying my hardest before Christmas now fingers crossed x

Mum5net · 26/11/2021 19:52

Would kill for a Cadbury's creme egg

Hartleyhare1206 · 27/11/2021 14:21

Oooh @Mum5net I do love a creme egg. Probably not long to wait to be fair, they usually get the Easter stuff in the shops before Xmas is even over these days!

How are we all? Had a good week?

Weigh in today and I’ve lost another 1.2lbs so now 12st 2.2lbs - I’m amazed as I went out got a curry on Sunday night and am also on my period and feel the size of a bloated house so wasn’t really expecting that at all. Helped to boost my motivation to keep going for a couple more weeks before all the Christmas festivities strike and desperate to see the scales start with an “11”

BasicMadeira · 28/11/2021 10:39

Welcome @Blabbermouth93 I would live to be your weight (and age possibly too) but I was your age and weight once and I was not happy with it so I am an ungrateful so and so.
I have been a rubbish dieter these last two weeks- I start Monday at 181... then go down a little .... then the weekend comes... then up a little and so I bounce - getting no where.
I am still trying though- think I need more structure so am writing a menu plan for the week calorie counted.
Well done @Hartleyhare1206 for your journey downwards

Mum5net · 30/11/2021 11:37

Morning weight loss chums
Well done @Hartleyhare1206 bring on the Elevenses.
@BasicMadeira @roomfulloflove @Blabbermouth93 @Keladrythesaviour @PhoenixReincarnated @Mamamia35
How are you all getting on as we hit Dec 1?
Genuinely thought I'd be doing better than I am. Very disappointed that I have no progress to report. I'm stuck at 62.2 kg and have shifted one measly 0.6 kg in a fortnight. Managed to up my daily steps to 16000 and am still not eating biscuits, crisps, alcohol etc although I've had a Bonne Maman creme caramel dessert and a bit of extra cheese. @BasicMadeira I hear you loud and clear as my progress is similar
Just had water today. Will maybe make the 15 min pea soup for lunch and see if that gets me back in the zone.
So going to be giving myself my very own @Mum5net boot camp for the next fortnight. The dog is staying with DSis for thirteen days so that's going to give me a boost. All ideas and challenges welcome Grin

Mum5net · 02/12/2021 07:03

Tiny bit of success. 61.9 today. Going for 0.1 kg a day now. Not inspirational, but this is a bit of a slog and I will be so disappointed in myself if I don’t reach target. Got scammed yesterday so was on phone to virgin media fraud last night two hours. Certainly kept me from fridge 😩

Hartleyhare1206 · 02/12/2021 09:20

@Mum5net any loss is positive - slow and steady wins the race and all that! Sorry to hear about the scam experience - that’s proper shitty - hope you get it all sorted ok xx

BasicMadeira · 04/12/2021 14:10

Hope that you have managed to reach a resolution with VM over the scam @Mum5net . The scammers are getting unbelievably clever with new ways to trick people. We done on a little drop in weight too. We must remember that this is particularly tough time of our lives and there is so much uncertainty and bad news that we are doing well to take care of ourselves and try our best.
I have increased my walking to a minimum of 15k steps a day and was delighted to see out of no where (and my period is due) a 2 lb loss. It's not a lot but looks good in the scales. I am now under the round figure of 180 (178.8 to be exact)
It's sooo slow it's maddening but focused in the end goal. I may not be 10lb down by Christmas but close to 7 will make the difference definitely

Hartleyhare1206 · 04/12/2021 14:35

@BasicMadeira well done!! 2lbs is bloody brilliant - funny how all the stars suddenly align out of nowhere and you get a drop when you least expect it?! Sounds like all your efforts have paid off!
I know what you mean about all the tough times and bad news. Felt quite low this week thanks to the new variant news and the threat of more restrictions and another shit Christmas. We are all doing so well to keep on keeping on I think - If you’re anything like me, shit times completely derail me diet wise and I comfort eat.
I’m 0.4lbs down this week, so now 12st 1.8lbs. If I could shift 2 lbs and duck in to the “elevens” I’d be beside myself, but I also know I have lots of Xmas meet ups with friends over the next fortnight that will involve hot choc and cake, then DDs Bday before Xmas - socialising makes it so hard to diet, and I do appreciate that’s a will power issue on my part and I could just have a black coffee and no cake each time - but I think back to not being able to do all these things this time last year, and how sad it felt, and I kind of feel like I want to embrace it all this year. So I’m just going to have the treats and make good choices around it (ie starve 🤣🤣🤣) and walk as much as I can to try and limit the damage I think.

Mum5net · 05/12/2021 09:56

We’re all pretty much in sync then @BasicMadeira @Hartleyhare1206 Grin Grin
We’ve all got an elusive 2-3lbs in firm sight without becoming the Grinch. So many things to derail us but let’s quietly hope we muddle through.
My VM hoax was so elaborate with copy screens and targeting areas where work was carried out that I was a nano second away from purgatory but phew I didn’t do it. But I screenshot the journey as I was doubtful. Left me too annoyed to eat. Reverse comfort eating for once.
Had my booster yesterday. And I’ve got a three day Empty. Grin 61.4kg so still on the 0.1kg a day push

Mum5net · 06/12/2021 11:53

Got to 61.1 kg today and another milestone on my app. No dog Grin, it is still with DSis, but I was out in the darkness and rain at 07.30 am chalking up my 10k steps. Thunder and lightning no less. Hope this is all worth it.
Have ordered three pairs trousers eBay for Xmas week - 12R. Hope they fit. Have had to dump all trousers that are tight around my knee. Have delayed buying replacements until I thought they had a chance of fitting. Oh well, fingers crossed

Hartleyhare1206 · 06/12/2021 21:22

That’s some serious will power walking in that @Mum5net - well done you! Xx

Mum5net · 07/12/2021 11:59

Sharing this meal suggestion.

Last night dinner was basmati rice, hot cannellini beans, and a heap of courgettes and broccoli. Literally it took a few minutes and was really good. No campfire required. #rice&beans

roomfulloflove · 07/12/2021 23:57

Good luck with the size 12 trousers @Mum5net, you have worked really hard for this and really deserve it!

I have mostly given up of late. I've been away with work a lot and eating on the go and staying in hotels, so had limited control on my meals. Also had a lot of social lunches and dinners. Plus the house is now full of Christmas sweets and biscuits and crisps which I bought for some reason.

But I do feel I have improved some elements of my diet in general. When I cook it's with a lot more veg, and there is far less waste in my fridge as I'm using every vegetable I buy. I'm using meat and dairy a lot less too.

I'm posting tonight though as after a quite good few days I stayed up late eating a packet of hula hoops, Percy pig biscuits, and a packet of jelly babies and a glass of wine. Feel a bit sick from all the sugar.

I'm under a lot of stress at the moment which I've been coping with really well- but it feels like it keeps building up day by day - so today I turned to binge eating sugar to cope. Didn't really need to but felt really bad for myself.

Mum5net · 09/12/2021 10:48

First pair is here and they work. Grin OK, my tummy sticks out a bit and the pockets protrude quite a lot, but I've got two weeks to exercise and lose more. Best of all the zip wasn't a struggle and I didn't have to force. They have a gold sparkle thread, eBay Boden £8 Grin I already have a mustard cashmere jumper to go with them. 60.6kg

Just over 14 weeks until Christmas, lose a stone with me.
Mum5net · 09/12/2021 10:53

@roomfulloflove sounds like you are making life style changes to your habits so that's going to help you win going forward. Yesterday I crashed an entire share bag of Rowntrees fruit gums as we didn't have any Jelly Babies or Percy Pigs, so you are not alone on the binge front. I guess if the binge days get further and further apart that's the good thing.
