I have decided to try and sort myself out. I am fat, frumpy and so so fed up.

It is just over 14 weeks until Christmas, I am hoping to lose a stone by then. Surely I can manage to lose 1lb per week.

Anyone want to join me, I realise this is short notice!

Not a great 2nd week here as we're all full of cold so exercise has been difficult. I'm managing not to snack between meals and I think I've lost half a pound this week. Onwards and downwards! Grin

roomfulloflove · 03/10/2021 11:49

@Toastiemaker onwards and downwards sounds like my life motto 🤣

Didn't even feel hungry and just ordered caffe latte and cheese and ham toastie from Starbucks. I actually didn't even enjoy eating it.

It is hard when you're out and about and there aren't any really healthy options.

Going to the cinema this afternoon then weighing myself tomorrow morning- so unlikely to be much difference this week.

I heard of this website which looks really good- so I'm going to try some of these recipes this week

Rainallnight · 03/10/2021 17:09

I’ve lost another pound and a half, so my total now is 4 pounds off. Just another stone and three pounds to go Hmm

Lockdownbear · 04/10/2021 12:15

I'm down this week. But it's really odd one week I'm down and the next I'm up. But overall I'm down from where I started

Mamamia35 · 04/10/2021 14:12

I'm 11 stones, so down a couple of pounds from last week. Stuck with the homemade soup for lunch. Need to get better at walking. Haven't been active at all. And not very organised with food for this forthcoming week so will see how that goes.

Keladrythesaviour · 06/10/2021 11:38

@Rainallnight that sounds like good progress! For us on the weeks, not the over all total - too easy to get disheartened!

I'm celebrating because I've finally hit 11st 3lbs, which is back in the healthy BMI category! It also marks half a stone Grin. I feel like clothes are hanging a little better and whilst I definitely still have a tummy and humungous big hips and thighs I feel less "6months pregnant" than I did. Hopefully the saddlebags will be the next to go! Knowing me it will be my boobs, they're the only bit I've enjoyed about the weight gain Blush

I've been a bit naughty with hot chocolate this last week. I do outdoor swimming and the lake has dropped 5°c in a week Shock so I use the fact that I need to warm up an excuse to get a HC. Really need to cut that back and go to decaf tea as it's such a waste of calories and gives me a big sugar spike and crash.

@roomfulloflove it really is tough when out and about to make good choices! I had the car in the garage this morning so walked into town with the dog to pass the time and didnt have time to have breakfast before I left so ended up in a coffee shop with a Welsh cake and Portuguese Tart for breakfast Confused

Hartleyhare1206 · 09/10/2021 17:47

WI today. 0.5lbs off. Bit disheartened as I’ve been a saint this week and turned down so many lovely treats, but at least it’s a step in the right direction. I’m also a bit….bunged up….so to speak. Lord knows how considering how much fruit and veg I’m eating and water I’m drinking! Hoping when that corrects itself I might not feel quite so bloated etc.

Hope you’re all having a lovely Saturday and that you all enjoy the rest of your weekend. Well done to everyone else that has tried hard this week xx

Mamamia35 · 10/10/2021 09:18

Morning! Weighed today and have gone up a few pounds. 11.2. It's been a boozy, eating out kind of week. Can't grumble. Amazing how much impact alcohol has on me. It wasn't excessive.

Keladrythesaviour · 10/10/2021 09:39

@Mamamia35 just one bad week! And I hope you've had a nice time? Today is a new day!

I had a dreadful day yesterday. McDonald's breakfast, crisps and dip, cookies and a bottle of wine (well, half) Blush and then today I'm out for a Sunday roast. Yesterday I just didn't want to emerge from under a duvet, so bribed myself with food essentially. Got to get my mind back in gear!

Mamamia35 · 10/10/2021 18:54

@Keladrythesaviour a lovely week thanks! It's good to go out for a change.

BasicMadeira · 10/10/2021 21:39

Hello all, I am going to jump in here as it's ten weeks to Christmas and I just need somewhere to hold myself accountable. I am just back from a marvelous holiday so will start tomorrow morning and take it from there. My weight has crept up and there is no way it is going to fall off of its own choosing. Action is required. I need to eat less carbs and processed food (have done the low carb bootcamp and it works but as a not big meat eater I got stuck in a cycle of eggs which was hard to maintain for me but definitely less carbs so low carb but I don't want to overly measure fruit or vegetables (they are not what has made me fat)
Oh, I am 5 8 and weigh 185lbs. 10lb off would make a big difference as I am bursting out of my size 14 clothes and I am not buying more.

PhoenixReincarnated · 11/10/2021 09:19

Morning 😊 I haven't been around for a couple of weeks. Two weeks ago it was my birthday and I had a few things arranged so I decided to take the week off. Weighed myself last Monday and I weighed in at 12st 5.25lb. Weighed in again this morning and I'm 12st exactly so very pleased with that. Last week I started off calorie counting but for a couple of reasons the latter half of the week I was just watching what I ate, making healthy choices and watching my portion sizes so very pleased with that.

Hartleyhare1206 · 11/10/2021 09:26

@BasicMadeira you can do this!! Xx

roomfulloflove · 11/10/2021 09:47

Hi all, I weighed myself this morning and I'm exactly 11stone - feel really pleased- I'm sure I can tick it over into the 10 stone mark if I keep up the good behaviour!

I've been on this thread for 2 weeks- the first week was my classic diet behaviour where I start panicking about being hungry and binge eat - I was having chocolate bars, crisps, bowls of cereal and large portions of every meal.

But I started listening to this podcast https://open.spotify.com/show/6NyPQfcSR9nj0DPDr2ixrK?si=H988VMZuSQuW-8CU1r0Sg&dll_branch=1

And did a really good shop with loads of fruit and veg and meal ideas.

So the second week has been really good- not feeling like binge eating any more, feel comfortable and satisfied- hoping I can keep that going.

What I'm going to keep in mind is keeping my eating to within 12 hours (10 would be the ideal but starting with 12) will see if that makes a difference.

Will also try to get back to couch to 5k app as have not done that last week.

Hope everyone has a good week!

BasicMadeira · 11/10/2021 16:06

Thanks @Hartleyhare1206 I shall hopefully definitely follow you down the scales.
Thank you for the podcast tip too, I find it's good to immerse myself at e start of a plan. Going for a walk this evening after dinner.

Hartleyhare1206 · 12/10/2021 09:05

@BasicMadeira oh please don’t consider me a positive influence, I was so annoyed at having such a minimal loss that I stuffed a massive maccies on Sunday. We took DD for a treat which is fine, I’d usually just join her in having a happy meal to keep calories down, but no. Went and pigged a double 1/4 pounder cheese burger with bacon, fries, nacho cheese melts and a milkshake.
What on Earth was I thinking?? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️ I didn’t actually enjoy it and was so cross at myself afterwards.
Oh well. Can’t undo it but need to try and make up for it during the rest of the week I guess 😳😳

BasicMadeira · 12/10/2021 09:12

Onwards and downwards @Hartleyhare1206 !
I'm the same any knock back sends me to an extreme, real "ah f* it" mentality and it only hurts myself.
Let me know how you get today

Hartleyhare1206 · 12/10/2021 09:18

Depressing isn’t it @BasicMadeira?
Probably explains why I’m such a yo-yo dieter and just keep losing and gaining the same weight.
I think from your posts we are a similar weight and height with similar goals.
I’m sure we can do this!!
I have my eye on the prize this week as I’m fast approaching my first “goal” from when I joined this thread a month ago. It’s my hubby’s 40th this weekend and we have a weekend of celebrations - not to mention a dress I desperately wanted to fit in to - planned. So I was going to be an angel for 4 weeks where hopefully the dress will fit and I know I have a 2 day break to have fun and indulge before knuckling back down until xmas. Or at least early December when the mince pies and chocolates are suddenly everywhere and it’s too hard to keep going 🤣🤣
Fingers crossed I hit my first goal on Saturdays weigh in. That said I’m going to be stuffing my face this weekend regardless so I can’t use any poor weightloss as an excuse for anything, that’ll just be greed 🤣🤣

Mum5net · 12/10/2021 16:37

Still here, still not doing v well, same weight as Day 1.
However, I've had a call back about my knee X-ray so i think the need to shed some kgs is even greater than before.
Trying harder. Had no chocolate or alcohol since Sunday. That's a start.
Congrats to all those who are on track.
Eye roll to everyone else - I'm one of you. Grin

BasicMadeira · 12/10/2021 16:41

@Mum5net not moving up is not the same as not moving down. Before you start loosing weight you have to stop gaining weight so you are on the right path. @Hartleyhare1206 I am 43 but apart from that we are very similar so let's do this together (and everyone else). Definitely enjoy your weekend celebrating with your DH and then move on.

Keladrythesaviour · 15/10/2021 10:02

Sounds like some good progress from everyone!
I've been a bit quiet this week as AF has been in town and all bets are off on the scales when that happens. I said I wasn't going to weigh myself at all, but I've actually been on every day just to keep an eye. I've actually had minimal fluctuations and am sitting at 11st 3lbs (briefly popped up to 11st 4lbs) so essentially no loss for this week. Im happy with that especially as I've been eating sweet treats and yesterday I also fell foul of McDonald's, for absolutely no reason. I'm blaming AF, as I do everything..

10 weeks to go until Christmas doesn't sound very much, but if I can be mid 10st that would actually be amazing. I feel like I might be on a bit of a plateau but I just need to get back into the right mind set of keeping to my 1200-1500kcal a day and not just "add on the odd biscuit" Hmm

Hartleyhare1206 · 15/10/2021 10:46

@Keladrythesaviour sounds like you’ve done well!

Weighed a day early as busy weekend with DH bday - 12 st 6.6lbs - a loss of 1.2lbs and put me where I’d hoped to be so I’m happy with that.
Was supposed to be out celebrating but DD Poorly so our first night out together in two years is on thin ice! Bloody kids 🙄🤦‍♀️
Not expecting any positive results on the scales next weekend as this one will be full over over indulgences so I’ll revel in this loss whilst i can 🤣

Mum5net · 18/10/2021 09:38

Still persevering here. I want to be 60kg at 60 in ten weeks so I have 6kg to lose. I actually went up 1.8kg in the middle of this week and no idea why as there is no beer, no chocolate, no crisps, no biscuits and minimal white flour. However after five days I got it back to 0.5 kg up on last week. Going to check the batteries in my scales but actually I might have been reading a 6 and 5 wrongly with my old girl eyesight.
My goal is around 110k steps a week but only managed 94k with dodgy knee but I'm feeling more positive and determined.
Just eating seeds, nuts, yoghurt, fruit and my main meals. I like to read how you are all faring and what you are eating/ not eating.

roomfulloflove · 18/10/2021 14:31

It sounds like you're doing really well @Mum5net.

I'm not too sure of kg weights but I'll look up the conversion chart!

I know what you mean about eyesight! I'm on old analogue scales and really struggle to read the numbers down at my feet! 😂

I had my best week ever last week! Week 3 of making an effort and it all came together.

I ate only 3 main meals a day - with loads of veg. Didn't ban myself anything, just wasn't hungry and didn't feel like snacks.

The biggest mindset shift for me has been about reducing the timeframe in which I eat. I know all about healthy food and doing more exercise- which is why I felt dumb and a failure for not being able to make it work.

But now with the aim of eating everything within 10-12 hours I feel a lot more in control- and have seen a big difference.

This morning I was just under the 11stone mark- which is great considering I've been over 12 stone for many years!

My shoulders and face have noticeably slimmed down. Worried about my great boobs disappearing, and stomach taking a lot longer to shift. My size 14 jeans are still really tight to fasten.

I'm a bit worried about not sustaining it - got loads of cravings today- so going to have big portion of salmon to see if that helps, as not had any meat for a week.

How has everyone's week been?

Mum5net · 18/10/2021 15:25

@roomfulloflove if my knee wasn't so dodgy I'd be hoola-hooping in front of the tv at night. I'm brushing my teeth at 7.30 pm to stop me eating wrecklessly of an evening. Glad of your best week. Do you record using any apps or a FitBit?
