Happy June everyone. Here is the new thread. Not sure what my aims are this month, mainly to try and get on a more even keel. I'm up from the start of May 9st5.25 this morning. Hope everyone is still enjoying the good weather.

Thanks a mill octopus. You're some woman to keep us on track. I'm at 8st 11.5, a reasonably new low (since Nov) from a new high in My of 9st 3.75 so starting June in good form and ready to keep up the new habits which are proving absolutely fine at this point. Day one of period today, dreadful cramps unfortunately. Have a good day all and happy new month!

NutellaEllaElla · 01/06/2021 08:22

Thanks for the new thread.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/06/2021 09:09

Thanks for thread Octopus.

I appear to have come out only having lost 2lb in May which is pretty pathetic. Best do better in June.

Goals - regular gym trips, lose at least 6lbs and try and improve muscle mass.

FlatteredFool · 01/06/2021 10:11

I was supposed to be thin by now but I've been stuffing my face Blush I have this month to get my arse in gear before my birthday so thanks for the new thread. Back to granola and yogurt for breakfast instead of toast snd need to cut out the chocolate and cakes. My stomach is dreadful at the moment so need to change my diet to help that. AF finally arrived today being 12 days late so I feel like I've had pmt for 3 weeks!

NutellaEllaElla · 01/06/2021 12:36

I was supposed to be thin by now
Title of our next thread 😂

I haven't weighed in, I'm on holiday from work. Lots of eating, garden work and walking.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/06/2021 12:42

Me too - I'm going away next month and I was going to be under 11st by now. Instead I'm 13st 6.

Tbf I have lost 2 stone in a year or so and 20lbs since February - the trouble is that 20lbs was regained over winter lockdowns so I've had to lose it twice. If I hadn't I would now be 12stone which isn't 11 but would be a lot closer. Ho hum!

I'm trying to sort my ds's room and is so disgusting. He's asleep downstairs and I will wake him up soon as he obviously needs to take part but I need to calm down a bit first and remind myself what my room looked like as a teenager.

We need to get out some old furniture to the curb side by end of the day for a collection I've booked for tomorrow knowing it would be half term and would put a deadline on getting it sorted. I have to somehow take apart a metal high sleeper frame - I really hope it's not too complicated - it was a pita to put up.

TheHoneyBadger · 01/06/2021 12:43

No that's not true actually - I didn't regain 20lbs over winter lockdowns - it was about 12 I think so some of the weight I've lost since February is real loss itms.

Sssloou · 01/06/2021 12:47

Can I join you please.....have done well since Feb - lost 12kg but stalled over the last 3 weeks. Not sure if you are all following a particular diet or just doing your own thing?

Petricor · 01/06/2021 12:48

May I please join in? I’ve just booked my wedding for next year and would like to lose a bit and keep it off. I’m currently 63kg at 5’3 and it’s too much on my frame, I’d like to be 59kg I think.

NutellaEllaElla · 01/06/2021 12:53

Welcome welcome! People are doing their own thing on this thread. I'm calorie counting, others are either doing the same or fasting or generally eating less and moving more, not sure if we have any low carbers.

Do you have a plan for how you intend to lose weight?

FlatteredFool · 01/06/2021 13:55

I've been as active as usual and tracking on my Fitbit. I've just had what feels like uncontrolled hunger for cake and chocolate. I've got a family court case at the end of the month and know this is a factor along with my chaotic menstrual cycle. It's half term for the next two weeks which means my walking will decrease.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 01/06/2021 17:46

Honeybadger, don't be thinking of the pounds gained at all, you're now X, you were Y and you're doing great. 20lbs since Feb is amazing!
Welcome to the new members! I probably naturally eat low refined carbs, not a bread fan and eat small enough portions of pasta, rice and potatoes but certainly not a no carver, love my fruit and veg. I'm not calorie counting, tho I did successfully do this and as a result have a good idea of cals for different food. At the moment I am eating three very decent meals each day, keeping a general eye on portion size but generally eating whatever I like, bar sugary junk. I have replaced (in the last few weeks which included a number of days of massive lol) my evening time lone snacking with early nights, reading and some walking. Skincare and teeth are also part of my general selfcare plan. Feeling really great, not feeling anyway restricted. 2L minimum water per day, finding this easy with the time between meals.
My aim for this month is to stay on the straight and narrow, eat more decent food if hungry rather than fall into the binge trap and..... Drink water Grin.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 01/06/2021 18:13

Logging for the day
Ono and cappuccino
Thai Red veg and brown rice (small portion)
Carbonara
Enjoyed every morsel. Good night all. Enjoy your evenings.

Octopus37 · 01/06/2021 18:54

Welcome to the newbies. @HeyGirlHeyBoy and @TheHoneyBadger you have done fantastically. Hope everyone is enjoying the lovely weather.

The saga of taking that bed apart! Tears, swearing and tantrums from both ds and I Blush Then afterwards he says we’ve got such a good relationship mum Confused I’m having well earned gin.

Just caught my nearly 70yo neighbour spraying the weeds on my drive when she’s meant to be resting an injury. I honestly wonder how older people have more energy and work ethic than I’ve ever had. I didn’t know whether to tell her off or thank her. Have reassured her that the pile of furniture is being collected tomorrow.

I’m knackered and ds’s room is still a shit tip but the furniture is out and ready for collection. Feel like I should have burned a ton of calories but my Fitbit doesn’t agree. Will try and take the dog out for a walk in a bit

TheHoneyBadger · 01/06/2021 19:49

Sorry hello newbies. My strategy is mostly winging it and doing what works at the time. Some fasting, a vague eye on calories, going to the gym and generally trying to eat less move more. In for the long run rather than short term drastic measures.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 01/06/2021 20:26

Well done on getting it done Honeybadger! And thank you octopus for your kind words. I remembered another thing I do which I don't know if I've said... I leave my wallet at home!!! Grin

Cuzco · 01/06/2021 20:50

Thank you for the new thread, I hadn't even twigged we'd ticked over into June.

Welcome newbies, I've only been here since February and this is my first ever proper attempt at weight loss, rather than exercising my way out of it, which has never been long term successful. I'm far too fussy to follow any specific diet, so I'm calorie counting. I'm a bit less religious about it now I've got the hang of broadly what I can afford to eat in a day, plus it's hard to track now I'm eating out a lot more (which also shows in the reduced pace of my weight loss!).

I'm going to wait until weigh day on Thursday before I set my goals for the month.

Wishing you all a joyous June!

Cuzco · 01/06/2021 20:55

Ok, so I just went back to read my first post on the last thread at the start of May, and it included doing something about tummy toning, about which I have still done sweet FA. So if I don't mention it when I set my goals on Thursday, or indeed in future posts, please remind me! Harass me! I need to do sit ups while watching tele and not just veg on the sofa.

Octopus37 · 02/06/2021 08:19

@TheHoneyBadger well done on doing the bed. Love that your DS said you have a good relationship, they are the words you want to hear. 9st4.75 here today. Have made a decision to cut back on some of my less well paid work to give me more time to do my course, cause I just cannot manage it all at the moment. Just hope its the right one. Going to sit on it for a few days and see.

OP posts:
HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/06/2021 10:36

Good idea octopus, I'm thrilled now to be finished my course as I have more time and energy for myself and the dc. Somethings are just not worth it! I'm suffering with a heavy period and that dull head that often comes with it for me, the muggy weather not helping. Pain. Anyway all good on the food and selfcare front. 8st 11.5 this morning, considering stomach felt like lead I'm happy with that. Sticking with the three filling meals is suiting me well.

NutellaEllaElla · 02/06/2021 15:52

Hello, I skipped breakfast today and had lunch out. Unfortunately I had eggs royale which should be nice but turned out was eggs on bread with smoked salmon and the world's worst, clearly poured from a catering size bottle, pre made bought hollandaise sauce you've ever eaten. Cheated on calories. Still, hopefully on track for a good day calories wise. I need to drink more water.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/06/2021 20:08

Logging, teeth brushed!
Ono cappuccino
Thai Red veg and brown rice, small portion
Chilli, rice, creme fraiche and cheese
Period pains and general bother easing thankfully.

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 02/06/2021 22:19

Just realised I have nothing, I mean nothing, for my lunch tomorrow! Pain as having the meals good to go help massively. Next to nothing in the fridge by Thursday. I could go make something now of course instead of complaining here but....! Grin

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 03/06/2021 07:12

8st11 here this morning, a new low since Nov again.
I also loved I was meant to be thin by now Grin
