@TheRealHousewife has given me the honour of starting our new thread so here we go....

I can't work out how to copy her helpful links over but if you go
to thread you can look them up and also read the thread and get a feel for if this is the place for you.

We are a friendly bunch with lots of support, advice, hand holding and no judgement at all.

I am doing Intermittent Fasting and run several times a week. Others are calorie counting and walking lots. All our welcome. Post as little or as much as you want. I didn't post my weight for months and was still fully welcomed and involved.

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo is our star pupil with spreadsheets but we have all done really well and I am proud of each and everyone of you.

Here's to a good month and let's get going.

Morning all! I had my weekly weigh in and have gone down by another 1.2 kg 🥳 I’m still not sure how I’m managing to loose anything on 1700 kcal, but plan to enjoy it while it lasts

I hope you’re feeling a bit better @SunshineCake and that everyone had a good weekend, filled with healthy food and exercise!

SunshineCake · 24/05/2021 12:58

Morning gang! Hope you are okay.

That is great news @FearlessFairy. I hope you find a race to join in.

Congrats @Crazzzycat on your loss. I work in pounds so don't understand kg but it is great all the same! I think the reason you are losing on 1700 is because you are eating enough.

Day two of difficulties but I decided I would go for a run so off I went. 11.31km. Can't believe it but more can't believe how easy I found it. I am really starting to believe I am getting good at this. Might take tomorrow off though as my body might complain and then run again in time for weigh on Wednesday.

In other news SunshineCat hasn't been heard coughing today. Hope she's on the mend.

Good idea @swampytigga, I had forgotten about parkruns! The one near me has a huge hill in it.

I will start by ordering some acceptable running clothes - running in public 😨 just the thought scares me at the moment. Then attempt C25K!

I did a yoga stretch this morning.

Well Done on a loss @crazzzycat!
Weigh Day for me on Friday.

swampytiggaa · 24/05/2021 14:23

Remember you can walk at parkrun or Jeff or hop skip and jump if you want! Tbh I think I’ll be dancing round first one back 😂😂

Ionacat · 24/05/2021 14:33

Fab weight loss @Crazzzycat!

I’m not feeling it today. I woke up feeling tired and I’m working from home and everything is taking longer than usual. I think an afternoon snack might be in order to stop me from reaching for something sugary.

SunshineCake · 24/05/2021 16:27

I got a fabulous sports bra from M&S, @FearlessFairy and have just bought a second plus two running tops and two bottoms in different lengths. I also got long shirts from Tu and all are great. My trainers are ASICS and I am on my second pair.

I hope you are feeling better now @Ionacat. A good snack is apple dipped in peanut butter or bread with sliced apple, grated cheese and something I can't remember on top then grilled. I'll get the recipe if you like the sound of it. Haven't made it in years but might do this week now I have remembered it.

Hi all just checking back in, I'd lost the thread for some reason and have gone off track afew times! So far this month I've lost about a pound! Must try harder!! Blush

swampytiggaa · 24/05/2021 16:36

Supermarkets are really good for running kit I think. I’ve had some really good stuff from Tesco. Only thing I spend money on are trainers. And race entry obviously 😂😂

SunshineCake · 24/05/2021 19:42

Long shorts* from Tu.

A pound is a pound @Misspacorabanne. I was stuck for 2-3 weeks then eventually did drop.

I am so impressed with all the running. Well done @SunshineCake your 11ks are amazing!
Last week I set an exercise intention of 2 runs and 2 online pilates classes. I forgot that my adult ballet class restarted (it is so funny, I never did ballet as a kid and am incredibly bad at it and very uncoordinated😂) In the end I only managed the ballet, 1 run and 1 pilates class but it was a bit out of my control as my DH had an absolutely horrendous week at work and I ended up stuck in as i was looking after the kids.
So this week I'm going to try 2 runs, 1 pilates, 1 ballet. Already managed 1 run this evening so yay.
@Crazzzycat I don't really see myself as a runner tbh, it's just that it's about the only sort of exercise I can sort of tolerate, as a very exercise averse person. I get so bored of everything else!
I'm annoyed as I weighed myself this morning and 2 lbs heavier than at the end of last week, but also annoyed that I'm annoyed, as really I can't have put 2 lbs on over the weekend. I did have a takeaway and some wine, but apart from that was pretty good, and definitely didn't consume enough for it to be that big a difference. It is my TOTM so that might be partly it.

Hope everyone has a lovely evening

Ionacat · 24/05/2021 20:05

Completely agree - anything is great

Anyway, I had my snack just an apple and a babybel and then once DH got home decided to drag my backside out for a run and after 10 minutes felt so much better!! Now ready for dinner!

swampytiggaa · 24/05/2021 20:16

I’ve just been out for a club run 😊 4 hilly miles in lovely sunshine ☀️ that feels better!

Out for a long run in the morning… forecast is horrific 😭😭⛈🌨🌩 have to do it tho!

SunshineCake · 24/05/2021 21:19

You are all doing great. Well done!

2lb is not possible @CocoaMojo so don't fret. It will sort itself out.

tostaky · 24/05/2021 21:54

Well done on all the running! Especially in that weather!

I went off the tracks at the weekend and today again... i will have to be sensible tomorrow!
I am thinking about having my weighy day on a monday so i have to be more sensible at the weekend!

SunshineCake · 25/05/2021 06:25

So many of us treat the weekend as time for treats. I would allow myself them and then the weekend became Friday, Saturday and Sunday which was too much. Now I have treats every day but a lot less than I used too.

I want to run but my back is a bit achy, though I did have a moment of anxiety at the thought of not being able to run. I'm still not feeling good emotionally and feel I need to run to get space, keep busy and clear my head.

Curry for dinner. Homemade sun-dried tomato rolls with cheese for lunch with pea shoot salad leaves.

Hope everyone is well and you all have a good day.

Well done everyone!

I want for a run in the morning before work. 3k and it was so slow but at least I did it. Also did not go to McDonalds yesterday after training so I can have something nicer as take away later in the week. Rewarded myself with a mojito 😊

swampytiggaa · 25/05/2021 12:22

Just done 12 hilly miles. One of them was super fast because I left my phone in a public toilet and had to run back as fast as possible 😱 dead now 😂😂 trying not to eat everything in sight

Crazzzycat · 25/05/2021 12:47

Sorry to hear your mental health is still suffering @SunshineCake

Have you ever tried CBD oil? I just thought I should mention it, because I’ve found it to be really effective for taking the edge of things, but doesn’t leave you drowsy or anything like that. It just gives you some space.

Unlike most medication for mental health, you don’t need to take it all the time. You can just use it as and when you need it and it works really fast as well. You can find it in Holland & Barrett’s and no doubt lots of other places too.

SunshineCake · 25/05/2021 16:53

Well done @Rewis! A run and a McDonalds swerve is fab in my book. I hope you enjoyed your mojito.

Great stuff @swampytiggaa though bummer about forgetting your phone! Positive though, faster run and you got your phone back. When I was stressing the other day I made myself run faster to keep my mind from thinking and then when I wanted to get home to talk to a friend before they went to work that motivated me to speed up too.

Thank you @Crazzzycat I'm already taking lots of meds, from Holland & Barrett and similar places, as opposed to from the GP, so do you know if another one would be okay? They are for menopause, PMT = emotional, sleep issues. TBH what is causing me upset at the moment won't be fixed with a tablet but I guess it is about helping me cope.

In good news I ran 11.52km this morning. I am taking tomorrow off as it has taken until now for my legs to stop aching more or less and I can feel the obsession setting in.

Weekly weight loss 1.6lb.
Monthly loss 3.4lbs.

I phoned to check about SunshineCat and she is due a check up after ten days. I have booked her in for Thursday as seemed daft to take her in today if she needs the ten days but she has just been coughing again so we will ring tomorrow as nothing will change in 24 hours when she has hardly improved since she started on the meds last Monday. Dragon receptionist was her usual abrupt, unfeeling self.

Have a good evening everyone and thank you for your continued support.

We were really lucky this morning the rain held off!

I can barely walk this afternoon 😂😂

Hope things improve for you soon @SunshineCake 💕

Glad it's not just me with leg tiredness as it makes me feel normal.

Thank you Flowers.

swampytiggaa · 25/05/2021 18:40

Honestly my legs ache so much but I’ll be fine tomorrow 😊 we’re going for a couple of flat miles in the morning which actually helps… might be worth you doing similar tomorrow as a recovery run 😊 I used to be dubious but it does really work

SunshineCake · 25/05/2021 18:44

I'll go for a walk with the dog but did try and wangle a shorter run but dh said no. To be fair I did tell him not to let me go as I don't want to do any damage. I went from 6, to 8 the next day then three 11k after a day off and think I just did too much. Will see how I fell in the morning..

OP posts:
swampytiggaa · 25/05/2021 19:42

Dog walk will work 👍 nice and brisk to stretch your legs out 😊

Hark at me sounding like I know what I’m talking about 😂😂

Well done you are doing brilliantly x

SunshineCake · 25/05/2021 22:19

I've just put some sanctuary stress cream on my poor knees. DH just said NO when I said I might be able to run tomorrow.

Thank you Smile.
