@TheRealHousewife has given me the honour of starting our new thread so here we go....

I can't work out how to copy her helpful links over but if you go
to thread you can look them up and also read the thread and get a feel for if this is the place for you.

We are a friendly bunch with lots of support, advice, hand holding and no judgement at all.

I am doing Intermittent Fasting and run several times a week. Others are calorie counting and walking lots. All our welcome. Post as little or as much as you want. I didn't post my weight for months and was still fully welcomed and involved.

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo is our star pupil with spreadsheets but we have all done really well and I am proud of each and everyone of you.

Here's to a good month and let's get going.

That's brilliant! Well done.

I'm still annoyed about this morning, should have carried on and now dh has said I'm not allowed to go tomorrow as we've had our jabs today. Apparently I might be allowed to go on Sunday.

Well Done for an 8k run @SunshineCake, that's amazing. I can't run at all.
I would love to be Veggie @ionacat but my DH is a carnivore! I could easily go without meat. I need to work on converting him.

I had my 1st jab yesterday and feel very tired. I have done a 40 minute workout this morning though, so that's something.

SunshineCake · 22/05/2021 14:04

I couldn't run very well when I started Couch25k @FearlessFairy in May 2020 but now I regularly run 6-7min km with the odd one at 5-6min. I love running. Was annoyed I got in the shower without running but was probably best I rested. It is great for clearing my head as well as losing weight and I have only used my inhaler a couple of times since I started so has been good for my asthma too.

Don't do anything else. Having the jab is a big deal. Dh and I had our second one last night but thankfully we don't feel too bad today and better than I did this morning.

Hope everyone is well. Still hoping to see you @HalfShrunkMoreToGo. How are you doing @YetAnotherWalk?

Morning everyone

Hope you are okay. I'm struggling emotionally so about to go for a run. It gets me away from what I need to be away from, keeps me busy and hopefully it will clear my head enough to be able to manage the day 🏃‍♀️.

Didn't mean the symbol. No idea what it is.

Good luck with your run @SunshineCake hope it clears your head 💕

SunshineCake · 23/05/2021 08:47

Thank you @swampytiggaa. I'm in shock. Just ran 11.17km, longest ever and could have done more and last time my longest was 10km in January and I have knocked over five minutes off my time and run over 1km longer !!! Go me!! Sorry for the bragging but tbh I needed a boost as had a really horrible few days. Head cleared well but not fully. Will get there. Thank you.

Hope everyone is well and have a lovely day.

swampytiggaa · 23/05/2021 08:51

Very well done! I was planning a long run today but I’m still in bed. Considering a short treadmill run but I’m still in bed. Might give myself the day off 😂😂

I’m doing a half marathon end of June and the virtual London marathon in October so really need to kick myself in the arse… happily doing 10 hilly and slow miles so I’m sort of on track…

Ionacat · 23/05/2021 09:09

Wow that’s amazing @SunshineCake. I’m aiming to try and dodge the showers later but it won’t be a long run!

Hope everyone else is doing okay? I’m still just sticking to it and allowing the odd treat but logging everything.

FearlessFairy · 23/05/2021 09:44

Wow well done @SunshineCake!!
Very impressive.

I did a very half arsed workout this morning as still felt a bit headachey from the jab. Glad I did it though as I do feel better now.

Also yesterday was the first day in too long a while that I didn't have any chocolate or fizzy drinks. Hurrah!

SunshineCake · 23/05/2021 12:38

I feel rather silly now having read about your achievements @swampytiggaa. let's just gloss over my moment of deftness compared to what you can do!Blush.

Any run is good @Ionacat and you are achieving more with your good food choices too.

Well done @FearlessFairy. It is amazing how exercise can make a difference to how we feel and no fizzy drinks or chocolate is great too.

Oh god I didn’t mean to make you feel bad! More to encourage you that you can do absolutely anything!

I don’t really push myself with running. I’m a very social runner and love to encourage people to push themselves. I was really proud on Friday to get my friend to 16 minute miles which knocked 90 seconds of her average 😊

I love parkrun and I’m one of the run directors at my local one. I’ve really missed it since lockdown so friendly and encouraging whether you do your 5k in 15 minutes or 50!

SunshineCake · 23/05/2021 15:27

Don't worry. I'm feeling a bit fragile today and embarrassed at my showing off, @swampytiggaa.

Best thing is when I told dh I had done 11km he asked if I was going for 15 next and it seemed obvious to say yes Shock.

OP posts:
swampytiggaa · 23/05/2021 15:50

Do you run on your own? If so huge congratulations because I won’t. If I can’t talk to someone at all times I dot run 😭😭

Btw friend of mine did 55 miles yesterday and is doing similar today. He’s a nutter tho.

SunshineCake · 23/05/2021 15:53

I do run in my own. I've run once with dh but he didn't notice me stopping to tie my lace so left me behind. These days I could stay with him longer. I play my music and off I go.

55 miles is great! But yes, nutter Grin.

Well I think you are amazing for running alone 💕 just to cheer you up here is me taking a half marathon very seriously 😂😂

Don’t feel silly for posting your achievements @SunshineCake! I personally find it highly motivating to read about everyone’s achievements! And running more than 11 km for the first time is massive

Have you run marathons before @swampytiggaa? I’m in awe of anyone who runs, but marathons are next level!

Well done @FearlessFairy for exercising even though you didn’t feel that great.

My personal achievement of the day is that my FitBit increased my cardio fitness score by a whole point. It’s taken a lot of effort to get there 😥

swampytiggaa · 23/05/2021 18:18

I’m doing my first marathon in October! Bricking it tbh 😂😂

Rewis · 23/05/2021 18:18

That's awesome @swampy 😅

I run on my own. Put of headphones and enjoy my podcast. I have a rule that my fave podcast can only be listened while exercising. When I first met my bf we used to go running together. Thankfully once I got him into bed, I could stop the running 🤣. We do go running together occasionally but we go at our own phase and don't talk.

I was suppose to go the gym but thankfully there was a hailstorm so I didn't have to and I could open my prosecco instead.

Crazzzycat · 23/05/2021 18:28

OMG is everyone here a runner, apart from me?! 😳 I’m starting to feel a bit lazy now! I do try to do some cardio most days, but exercise bike and cross trainer is all I can cope with.

Wow, your first marathon @swampytiggaa. I can imagine that being exciting, yet a little terrifying at the same time. I’m sure you can do it 💪

swampytiggaa · 23/05/2021 18:33

I’m doing it with friends. As it’s virtual we are planning a route with decent toilets and places for snack breaks 😂😂

Rewis · 23/05/2021 18:40

@crazzzyycat I'm not a runner. I really dislike it and get nothing out of it. But do it anyway. When all my normal exercise (gym and football) was cancelled I had to do something
And running was the only thing available. I can't get fast enough for cycling to make it solid exercise. Running is easy to do at lunch or in the mornings cause you can do it in 20-30min door to door. Not fun, but can't think of anyhting else.

SunshineCake · 23/05/2021 18:50

Thank you @Crazzzycat. I just feel so bad today, I am taking everything to heart. You aren't lazy. You are doing exercise. I wouldn't know where to start with a cross trainer.

Great photos @swampytiggaa!

Hope you enjoyed your Processco @Rewis.

I am not a runner by nature, but I do love the idea of running. I haven't run properly for about 5 years, I have done a few 5k and one 10k race in years gone by! Although I would say I struggled through them!

Reading this thread has set off a little spark in my brain and made me research which races are coming up! ✨

swampytiggaa · 24/05/2021 11:27

@FearlessFairy parkrun will be restarting at some point… social friendly way of getting a regular 5k in 😉
