@TheRealHousewife has given me the honour of starting our new thread so here we go....

I can't work out how to copy her helpful links over but if you go
to thread you can look them up and also read the thread and get a feel for if this is the place for you.

We are a friendly bunch with lots of support, advice, hand holding and no judgement at all.

I am doing Intermittent Fasting and run several times a week. Others are calorie counting and walking lots. All our welcome. Post as little or as much as you want. I didn't post my weight for months and was still fully welcomed and involved.

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo is our star pupil with spreadsheets but we have all done really well and I am proud of each and everyone of you.

Here's to a good month and let's get going.

Fantastic weight loss everyone.

I’m down 2lb this week to 12st 4 so very pleased with that!

Crazzzycat · 19/05/2021 09:35

Well done on those losses @tostaky, @Ionacat, @BrioLover and @Rewis
I’m in awe of all the running too.

I’m a similar weight to you @tostaky, but a bit taller. I’ve already lost more than a stone since the start of April, but need to loose another 2 stone to get within a healthy weight range and then may be another if I can be bothered. We can do this! Just take it one step at a time 👊

TheRealHousewife · 19/05/2021 10:35

Good Morning Everyone

It’s great reading about everyone’s progress. You’re such an awesome & inspiring bunch!

Waves at @fallfallfall , lovely to read you’re ok.

Thank you for your kindness @SunshineCake ❤️

I’m pleased to say I’m registering small losses even though I’m not on it like I was. I’ve been relying on intuitive eating and its been effective. Nonetheless I’m back to following fast 800 5:2 and that necessitates weighing foods.

Hope you’re all enjoying your increased freedoms and keeping yourselves safe under the circumstances. Take care.

Does anyone use huel or know much about it? My DH has just suggested it for me for breakfast as I often struggle to eat breakfast and don't really like cereal/toast.

SunshineCake · 19/05/2021 18:17

Well done @Ionacat. I'm sure running in rain burns more calories Grin. Also well done on weight loss.

Planning is important @swampytiggaa so well done for that.

Special permission given to you @tostaky for you to enjoy birthday fare. You are doing a service to your child by joining in Wink. Huge well done on your loss. Speedy compared to me Grin 🐢

Great stuff @Rewis.

Very good @BrioLover. Snack times are definitely allowed. Sadly SunshineCat isn't any better today so we are going to try and give her her meds direct rather than in her food. She is fine in herself, it is just awful when she coughs and she must be in pain. I don't know about Huel. Do IF then you won't need breakfast!

Hi @TheRealHousewife and well done for your progress. Has to be small to make a big one so it all counts.

I weighed yesterday and I showed I had stayed the same all month. I did manage to run this morning and then I weighed myself and I have lost a pound but more excitingly have dropped down to the next stone amount. It takes so long to do I always have the panic I've gone up a lot!

OP posts:
tostaky · 19/05/2021 20:42

Glad to read everyone's progresses! It is a good way to lift up the mood mid-week!
@BrioLover i have used Huel but i prefer Slimfast shake. I find it quite handy for lunch at work (no need to prepare anything, calorie controlled and quick). I find the bottle of huel is huge so i drink 2/3 for lunch and one third for snack later. Texture os not as smooth and also they dont seem to have coffee flavour! Not sure if that helps! Slimfast is only 240 cals so if i drink one around 1 or 2 for lunch, im good until dinner as it is filling.

Rewis · 19/05/2021 21:02

Are you guys doing measurements as well as weight? I'm just thinking that inches/cm might change even if weigh doesn't. I just find it a bit of a faff to do but I guess it could be good 🤔

BrioLover · 19/05/2021 21:44

Thanks @tostaky - SlimFast sets my IBS off so I'm not a fan, but DH was looking at huel as it's low fodmap. Interesting about the smoothness and size of portion as that could be a deal breaker for me! Might give it a go as I did like the concept of SlimFast for the same reasons (easy, calorie controlled) and huel have a coffee one now!

SunshineCake · 19/05/2021 22:14

@Rewis I started doing measurements and was glad I did as the tape measure showed a decrease even when the scales showed no loss. So far I'm on 8" off my tummy and 5.5" off my thigh.

Thats amazing! Well done! I used to do it before. Maybe I'll start again. I have an app for that 😅

Puffalicious · 20/05/2021 08:34

Morning all,

Great to hear all your updates. Amazing news Sunshine it feels like such an achievement going down into the next stone Grin.
🐢🐢🐢 club here- lost the 1lb I put on last week but I just know this last 13lbs may take me 13 months!!! It's soooooo slow. But buckling I for the ride.

NSV- yet another 2 pairs of work trousers are really just too big to be wearing. I don't want to invest until I'm at target!

Crazzzycat · 20/05/2021 11:28

Well done on those losses @Puffalicious and @SunshineCake! It’s a great feeling when clothes are getting too big. In a way I think that feels much more real than seeing the numbers on the scales go down.

@Rewis I take body measurements, but only check them a few times a month. My method of measuring appears to be so inconsistent that if I measure more often I wouldn’t be able to tell if I’m seeing a genuine drop, or am just measuring in a different way!

When I started I also had a pair of trousers that I wanted to get back in to. Every few weeks I try them on and take a picture, which is a really good visual reminder of progress made. The last time I tried them on, they actually fit, so soon I’ll have to find some new item of clothing to track progress! 😄

Puffalicious · 20/05/2021 11:47

That's brilliant crazzzycat 👏. You're so right, the clothes fitting is much more powerful than numbers on a scale. For me, very few things fitted and it's like getting all my favourite things back. I too have an item I measure against- a dress I wore 6 years ago- it zips up (yeah!) but won't look good until I'm at target. I'm going to get there! We'll done getting into your trousers- wear them and shake your toush everywhere!

SunshineCake · 20/05/2021 19:35

Thank you @Puffalicious🐢🐢🐢. Sorry I've been so quiet today. I'm struggling with some emotional stuff but I've put my big girl pants half on and here I am.

OP posts:
SunshineCake · 20/05/2021 19:37

Sorry, pressed post instead of preview Blush.

Well done on your pound off @Puffalicious. We will get there!! I'm mortified when I see how long it has taken me to lose nearly two stone compared to others but we are not all the same and as of this month I am three stone lighter than October 2018.

Well done @Crazzzycat on your trousers win! And you, @Puffalicious on your dress win.

OP posts:
tostaky · 20/05/2021 20:14

So uplifting to read about clothes fitting again. For me, i feel i am getting a bit of my confidence back.i feel better in my body and i also enjoy wearing nice clothes. I didnt like wearing "tent-like" clothes. Ive only lost 7kg, i cant wait to lose more!

Measuring - i find it a faff and also im inconsistent too - weight is so much easier to measure, but yes measurements and clithes are more telling.

I made lasagna with a lentils bolognaise instead of meat one. Oh the riot at home!! My 3 boys went on strike and i had to go into quite a lot of details about how much healthier it was to eat less meat.... they made me promise to not ever do this again.... ah ah ah little they know what i am planning this weekend.... 😈 a chickpea and aubergine tagine!!!! 😄
Joke aside, it is not a bad thing to educate the kids about nutrition... perhaps they will grow up more conscious about their eating than i did.

CocoaMojo · 21/05/2021 07:02

Happy Friday everyone! Just stepped on the scales and have reached my 1st mini target! 🥳 I've lost a stone since 25th March and really pleased.
Next target is to lose another 5 lbs which gets me to healthy BMI.
However I am going to have a celebratory take away this weekend Grin

FearlessFairy · 21/05/2021 09:37

Hi is it too late to join your lovely gang?
I'd really like to lose a stone/get to a comfortable size below the size I am now (whichever one comes first)!

I am really good at exercise just rubbish with the diet side of things. I'm hoping by joining in with you guys I can reach my goal.

Crazzzycat · 21/05/2021 10:19

Welcome to the thread @FearlessFairy. Are you planning to follow some kind of plan, or is it more a case of generally improving your diet? Whichever it is, I’m sure you’ll find a lot of support on this thread.

Well done on getting some veggie foods in your kids @tostaky. I totally agree that it’s really important to teach kids about nutrition and the importance of having a bit of balance in your diet. I had an appalling diet as a kid, but did lots of reading up around nutrition when I was a teenager after getting diagnosed with all kinds of food intolerances. I clearly don’t always put it into practice (or I wouldn’t be on this thread 😳), but it’s good to have that knowledge to fall back on.

Well done on hitting your first milestone @CocoaMojo. That’s excellent progress and you’re so close to being a healthy BMI now, which must be motivational! Enjoy that take away!

swampytiggaa · 21/05/2021 10:49

I’m still hovering just below 10st but that’s fine. I’ve lost another inch off my boobs too.

Not really watching my diet apart from sticking to 16:8 but my 15 year old has gone veggie so I’m doing a couple of meat free meals a week so we eat the same as a family.

Husband made a chocolate and marmalade cake which is amazing and the kids aren’t keen 😫 so I’m kindly eating lots 😂😂

FearlessFairy · 21/05/2021 10:55

Thankyou @crazzzycat
I'm not really following a plan I'm just going to really try and cut back all the rubbish food I eat, maybe one treat a week. I'm going to make some homemade Granola for my breakfasts next week, and big salads for lunch with lots of vegetables in!

SunshineCake · 21/05/2021 11:36

Well done @CocoaMojo. That is brilliant news. Enjoy your takeaway.

Welcome @FearlessFairy. I also struggled re diet but have found the weight has come off with running and intermittent fasting. You will find what suits.

Enjoy the cake @swampytiggaa!

I ran just over 8km this morning but it felt like five. I wish I had stayed out longer but needed to get home. I am having my second jab tonight so have planned pizza for dinner before I go out for it and then dh and I have just made tomorrow's meal as last time the jab wiped me out for nearly four days.

Have a good day everyone.

OP posts:
Ionacat · 21/05/2021 13:03

Afternoon all! Welcome @FearlessFairy
Fab news on the mini target @CocoaMojo.
Amazing running @SunshineCake I am aiming to go out later. Hope the after effects of jab isn’t too bad. How is sunshinecat?

I’m mainly veggie and I’ve converted DH who was a staunch meat eater! However the girls aren’t as keen so I will still eat some meat! Give me veg over meat any day!

SunshineCake · 21/05/2021 17:18

Hi @Ionacat SunshineCat is still coughing. I nearly cried when I heard her earlier. We've read the information leaflet and it seems we have to give it a week so I'll be ringing on Monday if she's still no better.

Did you manage to get a run in ?

OP posts:
Ionacat · 21/05/2021 18:59

Oh bless her, hope it starts to work soon.

I hadn’t gone out for a run when I saw your post, so saw that and kicked my backside into gear. Fastest run so far - around 5k and was doing under 8 minutes per k which is a record for me so I’m so glad I went!
