@TheRealHousewife has given me the honour of starting our new thread so here we go....

I can't work out how to copy her helpful links over but if you go
to thread you can look them up and also read the thread and get a feel for if this is the place for you.

We are a friendly bunch with lots of support, advice, hand holding and no judgement at all.

I am doing Intermittent Fasting and run several times a week. Others are calorie counting and walking lots. All our welcome. Post as little or as much as you want. I didn't post my weight for months and was still fully welcomed and involved.

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo is our star pupil with spreadsheets but we have all done really well and I am proud of each and everyone of you.

Here's to a good month and let's get going.

Thanks for the new thread Smile

EvilOnion · 30/04/2021 08:28

Morning, I'm checking in for the first time 👋Smile

Currently weighing 13st 3lbs and I've been using Nutracheck to count calories for 2 weeks with a 5lb loss so I'm happy enough with that but could do with some company!

SunshineCake · 30/04/2021 09:36

You are welcome @joysmoy66.

Everyone feel free to use April today if you wish. Just wanted to get ready.

Welcome @EvilOnion. If you haven't yet, have a read of April's thread so you can get to know us and well done on your losses so far.

Checking in on the May thread!
Starting May at 11st 12. Would love to get to my mini-goal weight of 11 st 7 by end of month but think that might be a little ambitious!

Misspacorabanne · 30/04/2021 19:44

Hello can I join, I I'm needing to loose over a stone for a wedding this summer. 10st 4 would love to be 9 by end of July. I'm not sure if that's over ambitious, but I'm going for it! Grin

SunshineCake · 30/04/2021 19:55

I'm sure you'll do it @CocoaMojo.

Welcome @Misspacorabanne. I'm sure you'll give it your best shot. What is your plan?

OP posts:
Misspacorabanne · 30/04/2021 20:14

Thanks @SunshineCake
So I'm doing the calorie counting, and logging on to the nutracheck app.
I started at 11 stone and lost half a stone quite quickly but then it completely stalled and I fell back in to bad habits over Easter... (I have a sweet tooth and there was far too much chocolate in the house Blush).... and So here I am again!
I'm going to try and up my water and exercise if I can. My calorie allowance is 1400 per day.
How did you all get on in April? I may have a quick look for the thread. Smile

SunshineCake · 30/04/2021 21:26

Definitely have a read if April's thread. It will help settle you in as well as give you ideas. Good luck.

Terrysmyorange · 30/04/2021 22:18

Please can I join. I'm currently 11st 9 and want to be 10st my pre baby weight.
I'm going to track everything I consume and weigh everything and not guess.

1400 calories a day
90g protein a day
Cutting out junk food Blush
Exercise 3 times a week

flowerycurtain · 01/05/2021 06:47

Hi, please can I join. I'm 10st 8. Need to lose 10lbs. Aiming to do 4 or 5
In May.

I've lost a lot of weight in the past with weight watchers or calorie counting. I'm beginning to develop a bit of an unhealthy relationship with food (ie bingeing) and also eat a lot when I'm stressed.

So because of that I've been reading Dr Chatterjee's 4 pillar plan. I'm going to aim to add something from each pillar this week and see how I get on.

Do people share daily menus on here or would that be a bit much?

joysmoy66 · 01/05/2021 07:10

Welcome to all the newcomers Smileright,I'm determined this month. Ate ridiculously yesterday but I'm starting fresh today. It's a big birthday for my dd in middle of month so will allow myself that day off as eating out/cake but other than that I'm on it !

Elle200 · 01/05/2021 07:30

Good morning, just checking in with my monthly weigh day results. I'm amazed at April's loss and am delighted that i've cracked the 90kg barrier. So many of you are starting your weight loss journey at weights i'd like to finish mine at!

Stats:
SW 134kg
CW 87kg
GW 75kg
TL 47kg

Have a birthday coming up so will be having a piece of cake then, otherwise here's to another successful month in May.

Good luck fellow losers!!!

Crazzzycat · 01/05/2021 09:01

Welcome to all the newcomers!

Congratulations on your loss so far @Elle200! Those are some impressive stats.

I’ve decided not to set a goal for May, but set one for the end of June instead. I’ve found that setting a longer term goal stops me from getting too focussed on small fluctuations or upset over a few off-days, so this definitely works well for me.

By the end of June I’d like to:

  • loose 5 kg (down to 88 kg)
  • reduce my waist down by at least another inch (ideally down to 35 cm, but that may be a stretch!)
  • increase my FitBit fitness score to 32-36 (good-very good)

I think most of that should be achievable in that time frame. Any progress towards it this month, would be fab!

Ionacat · 01/05/2021 09:07

Can I join please? Currently 12st 12 and looking to see if I can lose 1/2 stone this month. Walking/running and calorie counting. I’ve just reactivated my My Fitness Pal account and going to get a FitBit to motivate!

CocoaMojo · 01/05/2021 11:47

Hi @Ionacat I just started a few weeks ago with the same approach as you plus a bit of intermittent fasting!
I actually went for a run this morning - managed 5k with just a little pause to work out where I was!- which I'm happy with as it's been a couple of weeks since I last ran.
One change of mindset for me is not seeing exercise as a means to 'buy' more calories but as a way to increase my calorie deficit. So not adding it to MFP!
I've been feeling really so, so tired the last couple of weeks. Could happily sleep at least 10 hours a night, getting a minimum of 7.5-8 which is my usual so not sleep deprived. I am a bit depressive in nature and feeling a bit low right now, and work is really busy but that's nothing new. Could the fatigue be due to consuming fewer calories do you think? I've probably cut about 6-700 calories from my daily intake so maybe my body needs to adjust. Maybe its not getting enough exercise too. I don't know! I thought eating healthier was supposed to increase your energy!

SunshineCake · 01/05/2021 12:17

Welcome @Terrysmyorange. You've got a good plan there. What is your exercise or choice?

Hello to you too @flowerycurtain. Your goal is definitely doable. Everyone can share what they want and if it helps go, go for it. I'm sure you'll help others. Great that you are on top of any potential issues.

Definitely have a day off @joysmoy66. I sometimes think of having one but it never happens as haven't worked out what to do yet!

Well done @Elle200.

Very sensible @Crazzzycat. Slow and steady wins the race as @Puffalicious and I have said.

Welcome @Ionacat. Would you consider doing Couch25k? That's how I started my running, on May 9th actually. Can't believe I'm still going. Today was my 170th run since then.

Well done on your run @CocoaMojo. Do make sure you are eating enough.

As I don't calorie count I don't factor it in in the same way but I will go out for an extra walk with the dog if I've had, or want, a couple of biscuits and I always walk to the post box now when I need to rather than waiting to put it in as I drive by on the school run.

OP posts:
Crazzzycat · 01/05/2021 12:33

@CocoaMojo how many calories are you aiming for? It could be that you’re not eating enough, or not enough of the “right stuff”, but difficult to tell without having more detail of what you’re eating. How long have you been dieting? I wouldn’t expect a drop in energy levels (if caused by a drop in calories) to last for more than a few weeks, but I’m not a medical professional so could be wrong

CocoaMojo · 01/05/2021 12:58

I'm on 1315 calories (MFP set this for me based on my stats and wanting to lose about 1.5 pounds a week) I think I'm eating enough (I usually have the full calorie allowance) and eating ok, eg today
B = raspberries and blueberries, coffee
L = ryvita with houmous, hard boiled egg and courgette, tomatoes and spring onions fried in a bit of fry light, some chocolate rice cakes and coffee.
D = prawns plus veg and home made naan. Yoghurt + a glass of wine

Might get a load of spinach and try to boost those iron levels.
I 'started' on 25 March but then Easter happened so I've only been really closely monitoring + recording calories for 2 weeks. I'll see how it goes over the next couple of weeks and whether I feel better- it may be other stuff causing the drop in energy anyway. My diet was really not great before(lots of sugar, caffeine and alcohol) .

I'm going to my mums later to see my uncle and aunt who I haven't seen in a year so I'll probably end up eating a piece of cake!

joysmoy66 · 01/05/2021 16:03

Back to my full workout today 💪back feeling ok after hurting it earlier in week. Feeling determined but won't be weighing until 14th due to when totm is.

Ionacat · 01/05/2021 17:17

@SunshineCake I’ve done couch to 5k but have lacked motivation since completing it so when a post came up in one of our local Facebook groups for beginner runners who don’t confident enough to join the proper club, I’ve contacted them. Then there can be no excuses!
