Aiming for 2 stone in 2 months...

Ticktock40 · 19/04/2021 06:56

I posted in aibu and got some amazing advice.

I’ve just found out that I’m eligible for IVF on the NHS but I have to lose 2 stone to bring my weight into the acceptable BMI range. We’re struggling with secondary infertility and thought we were going to have to sell our souls to fund it.

I started last week just moving more, tracking calories and cutting out the crap (and basically damage limitation whilst I was off work- I even went to the pub and had a salad and Diet Coke!!! Shock)

Today I’m starting the fast 800 (my book arrived yesterday) and I’m hoping I can lose 2 stone in 8 weeks. I know it’s going to be hard and is going to take some serious dedication but I’ve never had motivation quite like this before. I’m also doing couch25k (and am repeating week 4 as I found it so hard!) Blush

Please feel free to join me, any support will be most gratefully received.

Hey @Ticktock40 sorry to hear you are having a bad day with it all today. It’s certainly a hard journey and as you say long. I am thinking the same to be honest as been trying to lose 2/3 stone for months now and I feel like the clock is ticking for me, can see me taking 2 years to lose what I need and we just don’t have that long. Hoping you have a better day tomorrow

ImFree2doasiwant · 02/05/2021 11:06

@Ticktock40 sorry you were struggling yesterday. Its hard enough trying to lose weight without the added pressure of meeting bloody nhs criteria.

I lost 10lbs in my first 10 days. Thrilled. Took my eye ever so slightly off the ball (I mean, really really slightly, just joy as well planned, had an extra snack, that sort of thing) and 1.25lbs back on. I'm hoping its just a blip.

I'm usibgbhhe shakes to get the weight off quick, I'm fully aware that a return to "normal" eating will mean weight gain, but I'm hoping to have broken some bad habits by then, and created some new good habits.

Why is it so hard? I just like food too much.

I. Permanently cold too - anyone else finding this?

ImFree2doasiwant · 03/05/2021 18:08

How's everyone getting on? I've had a good day today, a but inadvertently, went out and took loads longer than it should have done. Thankfully I'd taken a snack with me so I had that and plenty to drink but it means I've had 1 shake and 1 snack so far . I have leftovers from last night fircdinner so am about to repeat that, which I'm happy about!

Still struggling in the poop department, not really sure hiw to address this!

Belindabelle · 04/05/2021 09:45

Just checking in. I was away for the weekend, no wifi, no scales and not much willpower either it seems if my 5lb gain is correct.
I actually thought I had done well, lots of walking, no chips with my fish, sensible amount of alcohol.
Probably take me to Friday to get rid of these pesky pounds so that will be a week where I have stayed the same. Not good.

fitflopqueen · 04/05/2021 14:29

Now 8 days in, but didn't weigh until day 4 so will perhaps leave until next Monday.

Fasting until lunchtime is working fine for me - committing to a large jug of herbal tea - cooled in the morning along with regular tea.
Have just had some prawns stir-fried with ginger, chili, beansprouts and spinach and am comfortable at present.

Do feel the need to carry on with some of my normal cooking - having two men in the house - husband and son so have prepped some sourdough bread to bake later and a load of discard pancakes for them - immense will power not to slather with butter and eat whole.
Need to be sure of what is happening with next meal to stay on track and having a small portion of greek yoghurt on a handful of berries for pud each evening. Fingers crossed although jeans no looser yet.

ImFree2doasiwant · 04/05/2021 21:41

@Belindabelle ah thats disappointing, when you thought you'd done well. Hopefully it'll cone off quickly again.

@fitflopqueen its hard with others in the house. Just 2 small children for me but they eat LOADS mostly good but sone snacky sweet stuff which I'm just nit looking at!

Another hard today today but stick to my plan.

Howaboutyou · 05/05/2021 12:25

Just said I'd check in, not going well here at all, I think I might have over estimated my will power when aiming 2 stone in 2 months, I'm going to try and double down and really give it another shot over the next few days & I'll check in again ( & if you dont hear from me I'll probably have fallen totally off the wagon again)

Belindabelle · 05/05/2021 13:34

@Howaboutyou keep checking in. I had to really force myself to post yesterday but not posting wouldn’t have made the scales show any less. OK I could have pretended that I didn’t gain but why lie to myself?

Yesterday was another really bad day food wise but I feel more in control today. Let’s face it if losing weight was easy none of us would be on this thread.

If you are on this thread and still reading but have stopped posting because you are finding it hard and have gone off plan and gained weight, please try and post to check in and just let’s all keep going.
Be truthful, no judgements, just support.

Maybe 2 stone off in 2 months was ambitious but so what?

The number of times I have started a new plan all guns blazing and then lost my way. I always stop posting as soon as it gets tough and the weight isn’t coming off. A few weeks go by, more weight goes on and it’s back to square one again. This time I want it to be different.

fitflopqueen · 05/05/2021 15:05

ImFree2doasiwant you asked if anyone else felt cold, I have felt the cold much more than usual over the past few days. Partly I know the weather is rubbish and I am sat at the laptop WFH for at least 4 hours most days but wow my nose, feet are like ice by lunchtime. I think partly due to fasting until lunch, so I am using my heated throw still. Do feel warmer in the afternoon and once I go out for walk I am fine.

Baked my bread this morning and its gone down well with the men, husband kindly made me a cheesy omelette and some salad for lunch, dinner is currently a mystery.
Last night was leeks in a tomato sauce with buttered spring greens and sausages for me. Getting some inspiration from the Fast800 recipe book, smoked haddock on puy lentils was quite nice which which we all had.

ImFree2doasiwant · 05/05/2021 21:03

@fitflopqueen yes I'm also wfh a lot, and often sut in the front room which doesn't get the sun til the afternoon.

@Belindabelle I'm the same, I've had so many false starts over the last couple of years. I've been trying to lose weight sensibly but it seems that I just cantvdo it so drastic measures it is. 2 stone IS a lot, but if I fail and lose 1 stone, then I'm still doing well

Just had a Solero - less than 100 calories

Aaaalltheboys · 05/05/2021 21:40

Need to kick start my weight loss over the next 2 weeks... ideas please of best things to do which will at least make me feel better quite quickly (flatter stomach, less bloat etc) even if not losing a huge amount in that time.

Aaaalltheboys · 05/05/2021 21:42

Sorry didn’t mean to post here!

ImFree2doasiwant · 07/05/2021 18:17

Hope you're all doing ok. I got weighed this morning,11.75lbs down in total. Really pleased with that, but bugger me its been HARD at times. Concerted effort this coming week, to try and hit 1 stone.

I already feel better, and look better. Its given me a real spring in my step.

thats fantastic 🎉
Belindabelle · 08/05/2021 13:29

Very impressive @ImFree2doasiwant.

I have just about got rid of last weekends gain in time for this weekend. It really is hard going and this weather isn’t helping. My social life (such as it is) is starting up again and I only have myself to blame that my wardrobe is somewhat limited in options.

wishes1111 · 08/05/2021 13:42

I know I'm late but please can I join?

I've just weight myself at 13 stone 2lbs and I'm 5ft 3. I've put on 3 stone since covid hit 😭

Want to get back to a healthier 10 stone, I'm starting the gym and swimming again this week and will do calorie counting. I'm aiming for 1200 calories a day and lots of water.

Belindabelle · 08/05/2021 19:24

Welcome @wishes1111. The more the merrier. As you can see we are all just trying our best to lose 2 stone. In my case that’s just the start.

I have failed again and have given in to a rum.

ImFree2doasiwant · 08/05/2021 22:19

@Belindabelle and @BlackDaffodil thank you . I'm really pleased. Its been really really hard going at times, but finally something seems to have clicked. Probably helps that I have paid out a small fortune on these shakes, I can't afford to mess it up . I can't afford it at all tbh but was feeling pretty desperate.

My DC still have Easter eggs, there are triple chocolate muffins, chocolate digestives, twirls, all the chocolately naughtiness in the cupboard that I'm studiously ignoring

Badgerstmary · 08/05/2021 23:28

So pleased as I lost 4lb this week. Not quite sure how I’ve lost 10lb in 2 weeks. It’s been a little bit more of a struggle today & yesterday as the hot cross buns were calling me. They did taste nice though & as treats go, it could be worse.

fitflopqueen · 09/05/2021 09:27

Day 14 of fast800 here. Am rather fancying some toast or cereal this morning but will glug some more water and have non carb lunch after 12. Whilst no change yet in tightness of jeans I do feel less bloated, best see a bit of a loss tomorrow. Especially as Husband forgot and bought me a big box of Malteasers, they have gone unopened to the back of the biscuit/treat shelf.

StudentProblems · 12/05/2021 12:51

Hi all! How are you all doing? I’ve been going since the 19th of April, and I’ve lost 8lbs so far. I would have liked more, but hey ho. I’m using Nutracheck and on 1400 cals a day. I’ve got another 4 stone to go ideally, but I’ll be delighted to get to the 2 stone loss.

MeanGirls1 · 12/05/2021 13:37

Hi, can I please join? I know I'm a little late, need to lose around 20lbs!

Today I've taken 'before' pictures and am really hoping that in a month or 2 I will see a difference!

fitflopqueen · 12/05/2021 20:11

MeanGirls1 join in the fun.

Had my first real crack tonight, there is a beef in red wine being cooked for the weekend (not by me) and there was enough left for 2 smallish glasses which i have consumed. Otherwise my eating habits have been pretty good but only about 5lb down in last 2.4 weeks, hoping the whoosh fairy pays me a visit.
Did a half hearted run with the dog this morning and tried to stay more active all day even though i have worked this afternoon - laptop based!.

Keep posting, helps to keep each other motivated.

ImFree2doasiwant · 12/05/2021 21:28

Evening all, I've been a bit quiet I think. I had a large slice of homemade cake on Monday (mum's birthday) and it was VERY nice. Yesterday I was at work in the office, and had not planned well so ended up a bit over cals, but actually when I thought about it, it was still a good day.

Trying to be 100% on plan todayvsnd tomorrow before weighing Friday. I feel like I've ground to a halt. As of Monday I was 12lbs down in total.

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 13/05/2021 08:38

Can I join you please? 👋

I'm going on holiday last week July for 2 weeks and would love to lose 2stone by then...

I'm aiming for 1200 cals a day

16:8 so eating window reduced to 12pm to 8pm (hopefully should stop me shovelling snacks and wine in the evenings)

I'm going for a minimum 12000 steps a day (proper steps, not just wandering around the house steps)
I have an exercise bike (usually do 20miles to burn 700 cals once a week so might drop to 12 miles and do it 2-3 times a week to make it more bearable))
Also have a treadmill (will try and restart c25k)
I go for a 25 minute power walk with neighbour approx 4 lunchtimes a week

Im 13.3 and would love to be 11 stone
I'm 5'5

(When I was 11 stone I thought I was fat then!)

I can't bear the thought of not drinking tea - I drink loads of it. I'm going to need to replace this with water aren't I 😭
