Aiming for 2 stone in 2 months...

Ticktock40 · 19/04/2021 06:56

I posted in aibu and got some amazing advice.

I’ve just found out that I’m eligible for IVF on the NHS but I have to lose 2 stone to bring my weight into the acceptable BMI range. We’re struggling with secondary infertility and thought we were going to have to sell our souls to fund it.

I started last week just moving more, tracking calories and cutting out the crap (and basically damage limitation whilst I was off work- I even went to the pub and had a salad and Diet Coke!!! Shock)

Today I’m starting the fast 800 (my book arrived yesterday) and I’m hoping I can lose 2 stone in 8 weeks. I know it’s going to be hard and is going to take some serious dedication but I’ve never had motivation quite like this before. I’m also doing couch25k (and am repeating week 4 as I found it so hard!) Blush

Please feel free to join me, any support will be most gratefully received.

@ElleL91

Hi all jumping on this thread as I am also loosing weight to reduce my BMI for IVF.

Can I just ask why everyone is trying to loose so much in 2 months?

I've been told by my clinic that I have 12 months am I missing something.

x

@ElleL91 I have gradually lost weight but it’s taken a while to get here and I now need to lose a pound to get to the cusp of the normal weight range. Losing 1 or 2 stone will be great so that I won’t feel like I’m teetering at the edge and I don’t have to worry that a few pounds over and I’m overweight again.
ImFree2doasiwant · 23/04/2021 23:13

I don't know if its related but I am TIRED. Avoided eating crap thus evening, didn't have anything from McDs all on plan. WHY AM I NOT THIN YET???

Fere · 24/04/2021 10:17

I am down 4.5lb so far, with 2 outings this weekend is a good achievement!

Belindabelle · 24/04/2021 11:00

Morning all, the weekend awaits which can be danger time for our new diet plans. Be prepared, have nice (allowable) food to hand and do your best.

Am I one pound UP this morning. ARH!!!! I must not panic.

I have not had a movement for two days
I ate dinner later last night
I had a terrible sleep
I had some water in the early hours

I have not eaten 3000 extra calories over my TDEE so I have not put on a pound of fat, I am retaining a pound of water (and maybe Poo).

I have had coffee and water and I am going to busy myself in the house and garden until about 2 when I will eat. I will take the rest of the weekend from there.

cherrypiepie · 24/04/2021 13:28

Can join in please! Have my IVF appointment for 2nd June! It came today. Need to lose a stone (culmination of five years of heartbreak)

During the week it's fruit meat and veg. Weekends a little bit flex calories counting using nutracheck

ImFree2doasiwant · 24/04/2021 15:39

I'm surprised that I'm having such a good day. I've had 1 shake and 1 snack. I'm going to have my lunch shake soon, I'm not actually hungry, but feel like on such a limited diet I should stick to what I should have, and don't want to end up hungry later. I think I will struggle more Sunday, its my "eat lots of nice stuff on my own day"

Have a good weekend all!

ImFree2doasiwant · 24/04/2021 21:23

How's everyone getting on? I've had a great day, its been really (dare I say it....) easy! I'm a bit unnerved!

MarySanderson · 25/04/2021 00:02

I managed to low carb from Monday until today, but we were out and there was a cafe and I had coffee & cake and it was like the olden days where you could just do what you wanted when you wanted - very liberating. Not regretting it at all. Not going to weigh until next Friday for no particular reason. Although may step on the scales on Thursday just to make sure that Friday weight is right - does anyone else do this?

BlueDahlia69 · 25/04/2021 00:50

I had a weigh in this morning and despite exercising and low cal/fasting.. Ive not lost this week.. nothing zero zilcho

Im gutted but will soldier on 😔

Grannyg1 · 25/04/2021 04:09

Wow you are so so motivated, just what I need. Lockdown has added 2.5 stone to my 5ft3 frame feel so heavy and slow. I will be join I my you, not sure about 800 calories that seems hard, but will be giving it a go😊

WeightlossBarbie · 25/04/2021 05:12

I’m hoping I can join. I started my diet on the 13th April. Aiming to lose 12 kg / 26lb. I’m 42 and 5’3.5. Following AIP diet and I’m subbed to Noom which I find really useful for the psychological lessons.

Week 0: 76.5 kg / 169lb
Week 1: 75.0 kg / 165lb

silverstrawberry · 25/04/2021 05:53

Good to have a target !
I want in on this I've got more than 2 stone to lose but that's a good start
Last years pregnancy weight to shift ASAP!

CrystalFlyer · 25/04/2021 09:05

Yesterday went ok. But then there were 2 glasses of red last night (which would be normal). However this morning I feel rubbish! Like I drank way more! I wonder is it because I didn’t have as much food as usual to absorb the alcohol!

Today the weather is beautiful and DH is getting out the BBQ. He bought burgers and stuff on Friday. Today is my ‘regular’ day (I’m doing 800 light) so once I don’t go overboard it should be ok. I might even skip the burger bun.

Grannyg1 · 25/04/2021 10:12

I've ordered some motivational books - feel lighter already. I'm ready to go and planning a long walk for toda y. Fingers crossed for everyone. I'm starting today and will weigh perhaps twice a week.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 25/04/2021 10:37

I'd love to lose 2 stone...at first. I started fast 800 2 weeks ago (with a relaxed day on a saturday so I feel slightly less deprived in an effort to help me stay on it for more weeks) and I've lost 5lb so far.
Started at 14.1. My usual lazy weight I didnt have to think to maintain was 12.4, which was a stone overweight. I was forever trying to get lower but failing, apart from one year when I got to goal with ww.

Then medication for TN added a stone. Then a hip operation and immobility for a while added another. And that was 5 years ago.

Crunch time was being diagnosed with a fatty liver this year, not alcohol related. The blood sugar diet/fast 800 has good results for getting rid of fat around organs.

Dh has been on the bsd and lost 8 stone!

Pegs11 · 25/04/2021 17:38

My new eating plan starts tomorrow. One thing at a time... I’m going to start with cutting out sugar, probably for a week... then once I’ve got used to that, cut back on other carbs like pasta and white rice and start eating more whole grains and veg.

I’m going to try chewing on a clove whenever I get a sugar craving! I hear it’s a good palate cleanser...

Ticktock40 · 25/04/2021 21:18

Hi everyone, welcome to the newbies!

How’s everyone’s weekend been? Mine has been ok. And by ok I mean I haven’t eaten any rubbish but I’ve definitely gone a bit over 800 calories the past 2 days. Still been very low carb though so hopefully I’ll be ok.

1 week down tomorrow, 7 to go!
I’ll post my loss in the morning if anyone wants to join me. Smile

I've had a good weekend. I think my dinner was probably over cals, it seemed like a large portion. But other than that, great day.

Apart from the lack of poop Sad

JustPickleRick · 25/04/2021 22:23

Hi all, I'd like to join in as I've started my weightloss journey this week too!
I'm about 3 and a half stone overweight :( gets me down all the time but I've decided to do something about it this week!
I'm only 5'2 so resemble a beach ball with my 12 stone 9 pound frame 😬
I struggle badly with headaches whenever I try to diet so I always fall off the wagon. I think it's the lack of sugar. I've started using slim fast this week though and have been going since Thursday (who starts a diet on a Thursday?!) And day 1 headaches were horrific. I'm finding I've got a little headache most days but it's getting better.
I'm finding the structure of having snacks, meals and shakes (I bought the 7 day box) already picked out is keeping me on track as I only need to worry about the 500 calorie dinner.
Good luck to everyone :) it's nice to know others are going through the same struggles. Wish I could stop thinking about Five Guys.... 😅😫

Belindabelle · 25/04/2021 23:16

Week one done. It’s been a mixed bag if I’m honest. Managed to stick to intermittent fasting and low carb but no exercise and far too much food.

Week two I want to increase my activity levels and try and eat two meals a day instead of just constantly grazing on food during my eating window. That should help to reduce my calories.

Not expecting a massive loss when I weigh in the morning but every little helps.

StudentProblems · 26/04/2021 10:02

Hi everyone! Can I join? I need to loose close to 4 stone, but I’d be delighted with 2. I have pcos and I’m hoping by loosing weight I can get my body working again after 3 mc. I’m 12.12lbs as of this morning, but last Monday I was 5lbs heavier than that, so it’s a start! I’m off swimming this morning.

Belindabelle · 26/04/2021 11:18

@StudentProblems welcome. Don’t worry 2 stone is just the start for me too. We have to start somewhere and the thought of trying to shift 5 stone in one go is too monumental for me so I am dealing with it a chunk at a time.

Well it’s a rather disappointing 4lbs loss for me. I know 4lbs is good but considering I was so carbed up at the start I had hoped for more in week one. I had lost that by Tuesday and spent the rest of the week going up and down by a pound and the scales rested on up!
Then again considering the quantity and quality of food I have eaten I can’t really complain.

I now have 8 weeks to lose 24lbs to get 2 stone off by the summer solstice. That’s 3lbs per week so I better get my sizeable arse in gear. On the plus side I stuck to Intermittent fasting and low carb, lots of water and daily vitamins, no alcohol or sweetners. However I had far too many calories in general and too much dairy in particular.

Right this is a brand new week, fresh page onwards and downwards.

Come on everyone let’s see your numbers.

ImFree2doasiwant · 26/04/2021 11:43

@Belindabelle thats a great loss in a week, especially after your post yesterday, saying you had too much food. You stuck to most of your chances an d it paid off, just need to tweak the food now.

I normally get weighed on Wednesdays but will do tomorrow as ill be 1 week in by then.

@JustPickleRick I'm aimingbfir 3 or 3.5st in total but want to shift the first 2 quickly. In time fir summer, and probably everyone being back in the office at work.

@StudentProblems hello, well done on your first week, a great start!

Well done on losing 4lb! I'm sure you did everything you could and maybe next week will be extra good on the scales.
I'm not due to weigh again until Thursday and I'm so nervous. I really hope I lose something, anything would be great. I have a feeling I will be disappointed still though, wanting it all to happen overnight 😅
In other news, i'm currently sat next to 2 big boxes of biscoff cupcakes that someone has put in the staffroom and i haven't eaten one, I'm not even tempted which is a massive surprise! I've got my meal replacement bar yo keep me going... 😬

StudentProblems · 26/04/2021 12:26

Sorry for the grossness, but is anyone else finding that you aren’t ‘going’ as often as is ideal? I know for sure that I’m eating more fibre and way more fruit and salad than I was before. I’ve only been twice this week! I think that’s why I haven’t lost loads 💩
