Great thanks. My tummy actually rumbled yesterday I didn't 'feel' hungry but took it that i should eat something...usually I would have shovelled in food way before.
I think this is hopefully giving me the opportunity to relearn how to treat food and my bodies signals, that will stand me in good stead longer term, we shall see.

whatsthestory123 · 02/03/2021 13:20

ive had a bit of an up and down journey so far,all my own doing as the scales would not move and i would be under 1000 cals a day but ive put my big girl pants on and started a fresh

good day yesterday

@whatsthestory123 thats good Smile

HowlingGale · 02/03/2021 13:28

whatsthestory well done for getting back on on track but 1000 calories a day is very low.
Maybe you should give yourself a bit of slack and allow yourself say 1250/1300 cals a day. You'll still lose weight but it will feel less punitive and perhaps you might be more likely to stick with it.
Still I appreciate that everyone is different but I couldn't starve myself and am not obsessing about calories but just trying to eat healthy sensible foods and hugely cut back on the junk. After all if we are honest with ourselves few if any of us gain weight because of overeating good food such as eggs, meat, fish, fruit, yoghurt cheese veg and nuts. It's the cakes, biscuits, chips, chocolate, crisps and heavily processed foods that do the damage!!

whatsthestory123 · 02/03/2021 13:45

thanks all,yep i dont think i was eating enough if that makes senseand i need to eat in the day, ijust never feel hungry in the day

even just a apple would kick start my metabolism im thinking

have a good day all

I'd stay on the lowest dose possible. I'm on my 5th pen and have only recently gone up to 1.2.

If I think I should eat I try and eat some protein, a chicken breast (Tesco sell little packs of them) or something like that.

whatsthestory123 · 03/03/2021 12:47

another good day yesterday im now at the weight i was when i had lost 4lb as i went up 1.5kg if that makes sense

im also finding for me injecting at mid day seems to work for me

notapizzaeater · 03/03/2021 14:43

I inject first thing - got weighed this morning and I'm 42.8 lbs down - so just over 3 stone 😍

HowlingGale · 03/03/2021 16:30

notapizzaeater Wow, that's an impressive weight loss! how long did it take you to lose that?
What dose of SAxenda are you currently on?

HowlingGale · 03/03/2021 16:31

Sorry pizza just read upthread and see you have only just started on 1.2 dose. But would love to know how long it's taken you to lose the weight!

@HowlingGale my first batch of 5 pens where ordered 22/11 - I stopped them fir Xmas / new year - I've just ordered my next batch of 5 this week.

CelestialGalaxy · 03/03/2021 21:24

@notapizzaeater I calculated that on the lowest dose one pen lasts 30 days, as you have done so amazingly well, was there any issue ordering more of it if it took you below the recommended bmi of 27?

notapizzaeater · 03/03/2021 21:30

I think if your BMI was over 30 to start you can stay on till 25 but can't start at 27

CelestialGalaxy · 03/03/2021 21:47

@notapizzaeater thanks...I'm assuming i would have to stay with the same supplier in that case.

whatsthestory123 · 05/03/2021 13:08

how is everybody doing?

im ok still on 0,6 and not weighing every day more like trying once a week min, appetite a little up and down but still eating far better than before i started

@whatsthestory123 all good here. VERY stressful week at work but instead of turning to the chocolate I've lost my appetite which i assume is that Saxenda kicking in. I've gone up to 1.2 now and my appetite is definitely squashed a little more.@notapizzaeater that's absolutely incredible!

andadietcoke · 05/03/2021 14:32

I'm at 1.8 but having some constipation issues. Drinking a lot more and have taken dulcolax but it hasn't seemed to have had any effect yet.

andadietcoke · 05/03/2021 14:33

No idea on weight loss. Refusing to weigh in until I'm not backed up!!

HowlingGale · 05/03/2021 14:53

ive now been on Saxenda since last Thursday so this is Day 8. Weighed myself this morning and lost 6lbs which I'm delighted by! All my previous weight loss attempts in recent years have been long, slow and painful, ending up with me constantly bingeing on stuff I shouldn't and then throwing in the towel in disgust, but on Saxenda my sensible evening meal seems to satisfy me and I don't feel the urge to start stuffing myself with buttered toast and jam at 11pm! I'm still on the lowest dose and despite initially not thinking it was curbing my appetite, it now definitely is. I'm going to stick to the 0.6 dose as long as I can and until i feel it's not being as effective.

whatsthestory123 · 05/03/2021 17:43

all sounding very positive

Hello :)
I'm now officially obese :(
Bmi of 30. I'd like to get back down to 25.
I've checked out pharmacy2u who sell saxenda pens.
Have any of you had bad side effects?

Grinch48 · 05/03/2021 19:04

I was on saxenda as a diabetic didn’t like it made me feel dreadful felt like I was having a diabetic coma 😂
My doctor switched me to ozempic which is similar but you only need to take it once a week
I don’t have much weight to lose it’s more for stabilising my insulin levels but fuck me if I did I would be a size 6 in a month 😂 I can see why they want it as a weight loss treatment

It literally cut any hunger off within a hour or so of taking it
I’ve been on it just over 2 weeks and lost 8lbs
It’s literally like I have no interest in food
Very impressed with it
My cousin took it as well last year and even though she isn’t taking it anymore six months later she’s kept the weight off so far and also says she no longer feels hungry

Grinch48 · 05/03/2021 19:11

Sorry meant to say I was on victozia which is the same as saxenda just different brand

CelestialGalaxy · 05/03/2021 20:10

Well I am sitting here feeling very stuffed after stirfry tea 😩 I weighed this morning and I had lost 4lbs after 7 days, which is definitely going in the right direction.
