That's good. This feels like it won't be sustainable. I went up to 1.2 last night so hoping I don't get any more side effects - so far, so good though.

whatsthestory123 · 25/02/2021 11:23

@andadietcoke

So, after swearing blind I'd only weigh myself once a week I...weighed myself. Justification is that I realised that if I started on Wednesday at 10pm then Thursday morning is a full week (all about the rationale). Anyway, glad I did - not sure if yesterday was a scale glitch but I'm 9lbs off this morning which feels more in line with my 6lbs at the weekend, and makes me much happier.
omg what a loss you must be buzzing

im still stuck on 110.5 and my scales are news so i cant blame them

great to see lots of people on here

of to get my covid jab will look in later x

Stepharoo78 · 26/02/2021 10:02

Congrats on getting the jab - hope it goes well. I'm feeling a little hungry this morning so I've just jabbed myself a bit earlier - let's see if it has an effect! On the coffee for now and I've got lots of work to do so going to try and distract myself. Hope everyone has a good day!

Stepharoo78 · 26/02/2021 10:03

@andadietcoke that's amazing! You're keeping me going for the potential weight loss i'll see on Monday!

wizzywig · 26/02/2021 10:25

I felt a bit hesitant about coming back as I feel a failure having not done well on it, and you're all steaming ahead. Anyway, that's my issue. Can I ask where you get the pens from and what the support package is like? I got mine from skinny jab. And my issue is grazing, loving food too much.

whatsthestory123 · 26/02/2021 10:33

hi,welli ve had the jab but had a terrible nights sleep and now a headache, maybe a side effect

wizzydont be daft my weight loss has stalled and ive only been using 10 ish days

my pen with postage is about £65-70 but dosent come with support thats why many are on here i think,x

@wizzywig I'm with Lloyds. It's £260 a month which is a lot at first but when you're on 5 pens a month it's not so bad. I get weekly checkins and a monthly face to face weigh in.

Yesterday I managed a massive 500 calories and had done 300 of exercise. I have a Whoop fitness tracker and my body is not happy at all (low HRV, elevated RHR) so I've given my head a wobble and made myself have breakfast this morning. I'm going to order some Huel too to make sure I'm getting a decent calorific intake / nutritional kick from that too. The pharmacist said it's a good idea to plan meals the night before and make sure you eat them whether you're hungry or not which I'm going to try too. The idea that at 100kg I would be worrying I wasn't eating enough is quite frankly laughable.

notapizzaeater · 26/02/2021 13:50

@wizzywig I got mine from Burwash

Hello, I started on Saxenda yesterday so early days yet, but I wondered when I can expect to feel the effects kicking in? I don't think I am feeling any less hungry than usual and wondered how long it takes for the drug to take effect? I am only on the 0.6g dose and plan to stay on this for the first week, and then up to 1.2g as per the protocol. I get the impression that some people seem to feel the effects pretty much immediately! On the positive side, I haven't had any ill effects either, no nausea/sickness/stomach issues.

whatsthestory123 · 26/02/2021 18:00

i felt mine within a couple of hrs but im 1.6 now and am not feeling it at all,mx

@whatsthestory123 don't be disheartened keep going. I had a few days where I didn't lose anything then lost it all of a sudden. Hopefully you'll be the same. I have been doing very low calories too. I had a trip to the supermarket and stocked up on low calorie meals, not the healthiest I know but I find it easier when I can see the amount of calories without having to weigh ingredients for every meal. I've got my fingers crossed for you @whatsthestory123 x

HowlingGale · 28/02/2021 11:56

Can anyone advise? I have to travel to Glasgow in a couple of weeks time and am planning on flying from London. But what do I do about Saxenda? As I bought it online I don't have an official prescription, so I can't put it in my hand luggage as its liquid - and the needles?. I was thinking I could post it to the address I will be staying at but then realised it needs to be refrigerated..... anyone got any ideas? On another note, i'm now on day 4 of taking 0.6mg and not sure it's making any difference. I ate half a bar of chocolate last night , and my appetite doesn't seem to have changed!!

andadietcoke · 28/02/2021 14:00

Liquid fine as it's

HowlingGale · 28/02/2021 16:16

Oh good thinking andadietcoke. Of course it should be ok for under 100ml. And I can post the needles ahead of my visit. I didn't realise that the pens didnt; have to be refrigerated once they were opened- I've been storing mine in the fridge.

whatsthestory123 · 01/03/2021 09:56

well its normally weigh in today but ive hid my scales and trying to not weigh

a new week all have a good onex

OP posts:
Stepharoo78 · 01/03/2021 10:13

I've weighed in this morning at 103kg so 2kg off this week which I'm pleased with - going in the right direction! @whatsthestory123 this is a journey, not just a week here and there, it's the overall lose that is important. Sometimes you don't lose, then you'll drop a load.

andadietcoke · 01/03/2021 16:19

I've bought new scales that are being delivered later. DH got two different weights this morning by stepping back on, and I think there was about half a stone difference.

Huel was AWFUL. Really awful. So back to the drawing board on that. But my HR seems to be calming down a bit (I've read a few people whose HR has sped up on 1.2 and then not gone up again which is reassuring). It's still well within normal range, but noticeably quicker when I look at the data.

whatsthestory123 · 01/03/2021 16:35

well feeling a little sick all day just like at the beginning so appettite has gone

weather is good here so doing some jobs outside so hopefully burning some cals up

scales are such a pain,i used to weigh 3 times one after another and take the highest but im now thinking maybe just weigh at boots once a week

Hi i am on day 4 today (0.6) and so far think its going ok, the main thing I am trying to break habit-wise is the binge eating in the eve after dc have gone to bed Blush añd think that is going well. Can someone please explain why the dosage needs to be upped if this level is working for me at the moment, does it impact on metabolism so speeds up weightloss?

HowlingGale · 02/03/2021 12:09

I'm at roughtly he same stage as you celestialGalaxy. Started at 0.6 last Thursday so today is day 6. Not sure whether the dose I am on has had any impact on my appetite, though on the other hand I've just weighed myself and have lost 3.5 pounds so far. Whether that is due to the drug or the fact that I've forked out £££ and feel more motivated remains to be seen, but I certainly don't feel stuffed all the time or unable to eat as some other posters say. My understanding is that if a lower dosage is working for you and helping to curb your appetite then it's best to stay on that dose and then you have some leeway to up it if it no longer seems to be having the same effect.

Of course the drug manufacturer/retailer probably have a vested interest in getting you up to the higher dose as quickly as possible as then you end up using more - and spending more! I think I'd feel safer on a lower dose as I have read some alarming stuff about saxenda's link to thyroid cancer and pancreatitis, so would like to take the lowest dose for the shortest length of time possible!
I don't think that the drug works by speeding up your metabolism, but acts by dulling your appetite thereby resulting in you eating less - and losing weight.

CelestialGalaxy · 02/03/2021 12:20

@howlinggale Thanks, yes if it has no effect on metabolism then I feel ok about staying on a lower dose whilst this dose works for me and not having side affects. I just wondered if i was missing something that more experienced users would be able to put me right on.

whatsthestory123 · 02/03/2021 13:04

i would stay on the lowest dose possible if it is working for you also
