Welcome to the 'lose 7lbs per month' thread. Our usual host @cricketmum29 is having a little rest for Feb but we can follow her good example and continue to give each other support and inspiration and I'm sure she'll drop in when she's feeling well. Flowers

All are welcome to join, there's a really good mix of diets and methods and everyone is really helpful.

Previous thread is here: Jan lose 7lbs thread

I started last year and I'm so grateful to all the support and kindness throughout the months Flowers Jan was about maintaining for me but finger's crossed February will be about losing again.

oops - doing too many things at the one time.

Checking in.
GW 9st6lb
CW 10st 2lb
Goal for February 9st 8lb (or at least a consistent loss unlike last month)
@JessJonesJumps thanks for starting the thread.
@cricketmum84 hope things improve for you soon.

GetTheStartyParted · 01/02/2021 16:06

Checking in too.

SW 15st5
CW 11st8
GW around 9 - 9st7 I don't know Grin

January loss was 8lbs.

Aiming to incorporate some exercise this month, I've got so lazy since the pool closed. Work is my only exercise and I'm only part time!

Thanks @JessJonesJumps for hosting and @cricketmum84 I really hope you get that appointment Flowers
Good luck for February @Howmanysleepsnow Smile

JessJonesJumps · 01/02/2021 16:14

Oops I forgot my stats.

SW: 13.7.8
CW: 11.13.2
Feb GW: 11.10.6

I'm trying to fit in yoga every day and short boxing workouts. My other aims for this month are to drink more water and get more sleep.

TheStirrer · 01/02/2021 17:18

Thanks for the new thread@JessJonesJumps!
I am hoping that @cricketmum84 is feeling better soon Flowers
Starting weight 21st 11.5lbs
Current weight 13st 10lbs
Target weight for end of Feb 13st 3lbs.

Didn’t get to 7lbs last month - 6.5 in the end.
Here’s hoping for a good Feb. If I can get to 13st 3 I stand a chance of getting be overweight rather than obese in March 🤞

Stilltalkstotrees · 01/02/2021 17:43

I'm in, if that's okay 👋

SW (1st Jan) 12st 1lb
CW 11st 3
GW - I don't want to think about it yet
1st March GW 10st 12

I can't handle the disappointment of not losing 7lbs so I'll aim lower if allowed.

Good luck everyone.

cricketmum84 · 01/02/2021 18:07

Thank you so much @JessJonesJumps for looking after the group this month. It takes a big weight (lol) off my mind.

Stats for me are:
Starting weight: 25st 2lbs
Current weight: 14st 12lbs
Loss so far: 10st 4lbs
Loss for jan: 20lbs (please don't be excited by that, I've been very ill)

Am breaking vegetarianism and eating some meat and dairy as instructed by whole family, husband and GP. No exercise as still unable to walk.

Happy February!

JessJonesJumps · 01/02/2021 18:14

Welcome @Stilltalkstotrees ! I've not aiming for 7lbs this month either. The 7lbs is just a guide and we all set our own goals depending on how we feel. Good luck!

@cricketmum84 I'm glad your GP has given you advice regarding diet and hope the further tests and blood results will come quickly Flowers I trust your DH is rustling you up a tasty dinner Wink

Hello. I am back after a fairly long break (I may have been last here in October or November). I have been rubbish and my weight is up. I will do the dreaded weigh in tomorrow and do my best to get back on the wagon. I really need to exercise- I have been absolutely rubbish.

So sorry to hear you've been unwell @cricketmum84. I hope you're on the mend.

shreddergodo · 01/02/2021 18:35

Hi all! I'm new here and loving the threads and all the support you offer each other!

Stats as from today:

SW: 13 stone 5
CW: 10 stone 7
GW: 9 stone 6

somethingfornothing · 01/02/2021 18:38

Could I join if that's ok? I've just started tracking my calories today!
SW (and current weight) :14 stone 9
GW: 10 stone 7

Wineloffa · 01/02/2021 18:59

Can I join please? Drank and ate way too much in January due to feeling flat with lockdown. Would like a challenge to motivate me and a goal to focus on for Feb.

CW- 9st 5
GW - 9st

So not quite 7lb! But a challenge nonetheless!

peanutbutterdog · 01/02/2021 19:05

Hi all, can I shuffle back in too? Was last here in November. Have managed to maintain the weight I got to at that point but have been de-motivated be ever fluctuating hormones that make it hard to get a proper reading. Anyway, stats are
SW 16st 3lb
CW 11st 7lb(ish)
GW Under 11st for now
I also can't lose 7lbs a month but will be happy with anything.

Cricketmum84, hope you feel better soon.
GetTheStartyParted, great to see you back, and doing so well again!

NerrSnerr · 01/02/2021 19:08

I have just bitten the bullet and weighed myself. Here goes.
SW 12st 6
CW 12st 1
GW 9st

It's a bit of a cheat as I usually weigh in the morning but it may give me a boost tomorrow if I'm 1lb down and it motivates me to have a healthy tea.

I do so much better when the gyms are open but I need to get back to daily exercise.

Howmanysleepsnow · 01/02/2021 19:25

Good to see so many people here! God knows, I need the motivation! (And I’ve very little of my own right now!)
I hope I’m off to a good start calorie wise: likely to end the day on under 1000 (sounds very little but I seem to gain on over 1200) and have avoided carbs so far. Exercise hasn’t been great today thanks to lockdown and homeschooling, but hopefully my diet will balance it out a bit.
DH is starting a diet today too, which hopefully means he won’t be suggesting constant snacks, so that’s good too!

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 01/02/2021 20:12

Happy February and hope you start to feel better soon @cricketmum84!

January was OK but not great, had a bit of a motivation fail, trying to buoy myself up for a better February as I'd really like to be at goal by summer so I need to get a wriggle on!

SW: 233lb (16st 9lb)
CW: (last Wednesday as that's my weigh day) 180lb (12st 12lb)
GW: 141lb (10st 1lb)

GetTheStartyParted · 01/02/2021 20:19

Great to see lots of new faces and some familiar ones too Smile

Thanks @peanutbutterdog and well done on maintaining your loss while you disappeared - I didn't Blush

Hi @NerrSnerr good to see you back, and i like your tactic. Nothing wrong with giving yourself a boost Grin

Just planning our valentine's menu, trying to find keto recipes that are special. Going for a 3 course meal so will overindulge but hopefully stay in ketosis. I miss going out to eat.

@cricketmum84 I'm pleased you have seen a doctor and hope its the start of you feeling better.

Good luck for February.

HalfShrunkMoreToGo · 01/02/2021 20:21

@GetTheStartyParted you have to have asparagus spears wrapped in Parma ham with a poached egg as a starter. Rich and delicious.

MakeWorkYourNewFavourite · 01/02/2021 20:27

Can I join? I lost 20 kilos between Sept and Nov. Been up and down since then. I know it's an anonymous forum, but I'm scared to put stats. I really need an accountability buddy. I had a friend who I checked in with daily, but she lost 3 family members to covid. I can't bother her with this. My sister has offered, but she's very "tough love" and it doesn't help me at all. Basically, I'm still 50 kilos overweight.

DustyOwl · 01/02/2021 21:19

Can I join please?
Even though I keep thinking about losing weight, and I have the MFP app, it doesn't seem to be working so I have realised I actually need to change what I'm eating and do more exercise!

SW 13st 5
TW 12 stone to start with, one day I would like to be 11 stone something ( a distant dream).

My mum and sister have recently been diagnosed with T2 diabetes. If. Get tested, I'm pretty sure I will too, I need a kick up the backside!

GetTheStartyParted · 01/02/2021 21:42

@HalfShrunkMoreToGo I love that, I have it for lunch occasionally. DH doesn't eat asparagus but would be happy with the rest! It's on the shortlist. DH loves mushrooms or seafood though so maybe something with one of them - I don't think they go together Grin

I think the main is mini beef rump with horseradish and mustard butter with celariac chips and tenderstem broccoli (and maybe keto yorkshire pudding).

And my favourite keto recipe book has a lime cheesecake that looks good but I'm thinking of making it lemon instead.

Anyway, off to bed now, 4am start tomorrow. It really is nice to see so many people here.

MakeWorkYourNewFavourite · 02/02/2021 08:02

I lost 600g this morning! My starting weight is massive though. So, it's to be expected at the beginning. I'm doing keto.... more or less. I'm a vegetarian so it's trickier. I tend to eat the same thing every day because it works. Then I crack! So, hoping to find ideas here. Plus, I just need to find some people to report to.

@DustyOwl I worry about T2 diabetes. I had gestational diabetes. I was tested about 6 months ago. I was okay. But at this weight, I'm on borrowed time. We can do this! :-)

MakeWorkYourNewFavourite · 02/02/2021 08:10

I don't do any exercise either. Nothing. I never have. Well, I walked for an hour a day when pregnant. If I could just do that. I have DD3. Single mum. We go out a lot, when it's not freezing rain... but it's not exercise. It's slow.... stopping to look at bird poo, staring at nextdoor's pony, talking to snails....

Howmanysleepsnow · 02/02/2021 08:34

Morning everyone! I ended up marginally over on calories (by 35) yesterday, but scales show a 2lb loss this morning (I don’t really care if it’s real, it’s enough to motivate me!) so 10st exactly. Hopefully I can keep that off and lose a bit more this week to get into the 9s.

shreddergodo · 02/02/2021 08:52

Does everyone here weight everyday or just weekly or monthly or?

I'm tempted to weigh every day, I feel like it motivates me. I won't both today as I've already had a big glass of water but the plan from now on is to get on the scale first thing :)
