@BeastOfBODMAS that sounds like a good plan.

I think I need to steer myself to being happy about being healthier. I just really resent missing out on all the lovely unhealthy stuff. Not a very mature attitude for a 43 year old to have!

I've made some lovely soups recently - I do a lot of butternut squash with either curry or chilli & add lentils, light coconut milk, a bit if honey, lemon, (any citrus fruits that needs used up), and almost anything tasty that's sitting about.

Bought dh the green roasting tin for Christmas -it's good, have made a nice beetroot & chickpea curry

For anyone who is interested, rte in Ireland have just launched operation transformation. They have an app also. It's give you all the recipes and workouts all very easy and able to do at home... Lots of videos on the app too. It also gives you shopping lists for the recipies
Free to download, you can also watch the shows once a week in Wednesday nights on rte 1.
Or on rte player.

Just in case anyone is interested in using it... Its very good

BeastOfBODMAS · 08/01/2021 00:13

@buckeejit that soup sounds lovely, adding butternut squash to my shop as we speak!

I don’t think you need to resign yourself to missing out on lovely unhealthy things forever! I try to tell myself that I can have the nice things but not all of them on the same day or in unlimited quantity! So kind of a baseline level of good daily habits and an either/or mentality for more indulgent things

Would you recommend the roasting tin book? I was looking at it but then DH bought me Meera Sodha’s East for Christmas with the promise that he would cook whatever I wanted from it so I need to get on and do some impatient jabbing at pages 😂

lucy2204 · 08/01/2021 03:07

@HereIgoagainagain you'll get there tbh I think everyone has there days, today I didn't want to do a thing but eat junk 🙄and I was close to but then I got a post on here saying someone had commented it was @delilah221 actually 😂😂😂so she saved my ass 😂

@BeastOfBODMAS omg honey makes a huge difference I think anyway, 😍

@happymama24 what's it called hun 🤗🙈

Thank you @lucy2204 today is a new day and I am going to try and be more positive. Ironically making people feel more positive and understanding their emotions is my actual job so I should practise what I preach more.
I have just ordered the green roasting tin book , I have the round the world one and love it.
My plan for today is to go to work , only take healthy stuff with me. Meal plan fir the week and get my steps higher than yesterday.
What I normally do is give myself these big goals and I end up falling at the first hurdles this will do for now.
I will also drink all the water !!

jazzyroll · 08/01/2021 07:34

Hi everyone. Does anyone have the Dr Chatterjee book 'Feel Great Lose Weight '? I saw ur advertised and thought it sounds good but wanted to see what others thought before I bought it.

On the plus side, I have just finished day 1 of the 30 day shred. It was hard and I did have to stop a few times but I made it. Not sure how I'll get on tomorrow but will try and do it at least every other day.

lucy2204 · 08/01/2021 07:52

@HereIgoagainagain don't push yourself right into it if you don't feel like you can just slowly start interducing healthy things normally if you chuck yourself in you fall off the wagon quickly, well I do anyway 🙌🙈it's good that your gna try with everything tho and your accepting that you want things to change 🤗🤗goodluck today you got this 🤗🤗xx

Hey ladies, hoping there’s room for one more!!
So happy there are others in the same boat as me! I’m hoping to lose 4 stone - currently 15,9. I started lockdown last March at 17,10 and at start of December had dropped to 14,7 but I have somehow put over a stone on since then 😫 trying to conceive in the midst of it all, just to add to the angst 😂 not planning on doing any specific diet (I love carbs too much) just hoping to eat less and move more. Looking forward to seeing all the tips and motivation - we’ve got this ladies!!! 💪🏻

lucy2204 · 08/01/2021 09:10

@peony2021 yes defo room for one more 🙌🙌any tips on how you lost the weight before? I'm still waiting for my new scales to turn up so I don't know what I'm working with 😂😂dreading to see what I weigh, I'm just gna use the excuse I'm still postpartum so the baby weight hasn't shifted if I'm heavier than I think I am 😂🙌do you exercise at all? Xx

Thanks so much!! So when the lockdown started I was looking after my dad who lives by himself and he would always have gone walking with his friends or his sister and when we were told we couldn’t see anyone I said to him why don’t we go walking every day on my lunch break just round the streets for half an hour (he lives on my street lol). So half an hour every day grew to 45 mins then an hour then we picked up the pace (he’s 67 but he’s very fit!) then I started couch to 5k and my husband and I then started going for jogs (husband very fit, irritatingly 😂) and then I got into the habit of going for a 25 minute jog 3 times a week plus my daily walks with dad. It definitely shifted a lot of pounds, along with less alcohol and a bit less food. I found that I could still eat my bag of crisps if I had done my walk and didn’t feel guilty. Took around 8 months to lose 3 stone. Hoping to get back into the exercise but honestly I couldn’t run the length of me this month yet 😂😂 hahaha yes that’s a great excuse sure!! Have you any plans for exercise or specific diet? I did try Keto and lost weight on it a few years ago but It came back 10fold 🤦🏻‍♀️ Xx

BeastOfBODMAS · 08/01/2021 10:25

Have a great day everyone!
It’s flipping cold out today, on the plus side I will be motoring along on my walk later to keep warm which makes for brisker exercise.

When I come back I will probably have a hot drink of Swiss vegetable buillon which hits the spot like a cup a soup but only 13cal. DH calls it my vovril (as in veggie bovril)

Delilah221 · 08/01/2021 11:21

@lucy2204 - Oh there's no accidentally about it, I'm rather sarcastic! My grandad once told me 'Ask a stupid question, get a stupid answer' and I've lived by that ever since haha. Aww how amazing, but i bet you are rushed off your feet lol. I've always known i wanted children, and i also worked in childcare for years too, so it was always a 'can't wait to have my own' lol. We've been trying for a month now but issues with coming off the pill, of course! But thank you, can't wait to finally get there and share a BFP! I know, so big motivation to get in a dress but still finding it hard to get a move on lol. We are also currently in the middle of moving so that's not helping the stress levels... talk about everything at once lol.

@BeastOfBODMAS - Exactly! You hit the nail on the head there! It's so difficult, but it deffo is so so dependent on what works for you! I am so over organised in everything i do, so i was obsessing over MFP but annoyingly it did work lol. But for me, wasn't worth the added stress levels lol. But to be honest i logged it for sooo long i kinda have an idea in my head of what adds up to what. It's more portion control for me.. or lack of lol. Aww thank you! It's bad but it's hard to get excited yet as no sign on any plans until Covid pisses off! :( But on the plus side, gives me more time to loose the weight lol. Can't believe how quickly it's crept up!!
Aww exciting, best of luck on your TTC journey!

@HereIgoagainagain - Could not have said it better myself! I'm certainly in that category lol.

Hope you all have a lovely day! And don't be too hard on yourselves, as Tesco would oh so famously say - Every little helps!! (I hope it's tesco or I've just made a right nob of myself haha)

Delilah221 · 08/01/2021 11:26

@lucy2204 - Just seen your other post, that's made my day that i helped you!! And in all honestly you have just done the same for me! I feel dreadful today and was leaning towards a rough day but now that's given me a boost of motivation!! :)

We can do this Ladies!!

lucy2204 · 08/01/2021 11:59

@peony2021 I'm wanting to start jogging but don't have confidence to do so, I current go on my vibration plate for 40 mins then do 7 different 7mins workout I split these between morning and night (before shower and dinner) I'm not following any diet, but say that I will be changing over to sweet potato for my chips 😂I've tried to go without and it's not for me 😂we have an air fryer so we can cook lots of healthy foods, everytime I go on a diet I don't stick to it so not going to force it appon myself hope you have a good day today, seems a couple of us have annoyingly fit partners 🙄 & I did think it might do that as you lose lots of weight so quickly you'd basically have to follow it for life surely :/ (keto) xx

@BeastOfBODMAS have a good day hun!,must be soo bloody cold were you are, 🌊still would swap tho!, I love the sea xx

@delilah221 omg I don't know how you work around so many kids 😱isn't it stupidly loud all the time, 🔊I mean I'm doing home schooling atm your more than welcome to take over if your missing work? 😂🤣Honestly hope your get your bfp,🤗and I'm glad I helped you!, if you hadn't posted on the post I prob would of gone straight for the junk food, its crazy how woking up feeling rough makes us wna eat bad 😂😂maybe we eat our emations away xx

@lucy2204 - Haha i got that a lot! But i loved it! Oh yea it's crazy loud haha, but that's part of the fun lol. Haha I'd happily take over, i would've loved to have been a teacher but couldn't afford all the courses :( I also now work in London as an office manager as i couldn't live on the nursery wage! So missing the nursery work loads!
Aw thank you! I'll keep you all updated if i eventually get my turn lol.
Aw same, i woke up so miserable and just wanted ice cream! haha. But read your message and was like nope! Don't be a pig for the sake of it lol.

Hope you're all doing ok!

Bunnybigears · 08/01/2021 12:18

I'm setting myself small goals. So far doing 1km on the exercise bike (which is rediculously small amount) but more than nothing.

lucy2204 · 08/01/2021 13:05

@delilah221 defo expensive living in London my sister in law still lives there and it's stupid how much it costs we live Cambridgeshire way and it's much cheaper but there like nothing to do 🙄obviously with kids tho you need save as much money you can, so for now it works for us, massive fingers crossed for you 🤞oh god ice cream when it's this cold you brave 😂finding it hard to get through my water today but know I need to otherwise I feel shitty 🤔I normally drink lots of water so not sure why I can't drink now I have 😂you wouldn't say you'd take over if you met my crazy kids 😂😂xx

@bigbunnyears that's good at least your doing something hun xx

Peony2021 · 08/01/2021 13:16

I know it’s so hard jogging out and about I do feel very self conscious sometimes! Love the sound of your plate and also the air fryer I have heard amazing things about it was thinking of getting one! Need to find lots of tasty recipes so have scrolled through this thread as I see some ladies have great ideas. I’m working from home due to COVID so no excuse for me 😂😂 hope you’ve a good Friday all!! Xx

Delilah221 · 08/01/2021 13:22

@lucy2204 - haha I'm sure they're lovely children! I've dealt with many children so nothings hard work for me haha. And i have all the paitence in the world when it comes to children, lack it when it comes to adults though lol. I'm sure that'll change when i have my own lol.
Yes London is crazy expensive, people where paying more in monthly childcare fees at my nursery than i was getting paid each month!!

@Peony2021 - I'm the exact same! But kicked myself up the but to get out and start and on my first day i was jogging for all of 20 seconds and a car pulled over to stop me.. .and the cheeky sod asked if i wanted to join "herbalife"!!! Could've throttled him!!

Peony2021 · 08/01/2021 13:24

That sounds great, definitely every little helps as a previous poster said 😊 I went on a 30 min walk today, had ordered new walking shows and of COURSE they have hurt my heels so now I fear I will have a blister and will be out of action 🤦🏻‍♀️ Going to try some home workout videos online. Have done a joe wicks before but honestly could keep up 😂😂

BeastOfBODMAS · 08/01/2021 13:24

@Bunnybigears well done for doing what you can - 1km is halfway up the Champs-Élysées which is pretty cool! Could you perhaps look up different places on street view or YouTube while you cycle and take yourself round the world a km at a time?
