Ahhh what a cheeky sod I would have thumped him!!!!! I’m sure he wasn’t bloody out jogging!! I’ve given up outside jogging for now incase I fall on ice (want to avoid a&e given current COVID situation if I can!) but trying to get my very very very very old cross trainer up and running again. Currently dusting it off 😂😂

bluebird3 · 08/01/2021 13:48

Hi! May I join? Just found this thread.

I have 4 stone to lose. I tend to gain a chunk of weight when going through periods of stress and then never lose it so it accumulates over time. We had a long battle with infertility, then we had a baby (yay!) and then we have moved overseas during a pandemic so it's been a bit stressful over the last few years.

I have avoided my emotions with unhealthy habits such as overeating and overspending and I now need a new focus. I have been battling problems with my joints for the ast year so can't do a lot of exercise but I do walk the dog most days.

I joined ww and am on the purple plan which is very similar to SW.

I'd love some support buddies!

The Green Roasting Tin is great but the recipes are definitely NOT low calorie Grin the ginger broccoli stir fry thing is to die for but was over 1,000 calories a portion so the book went back on the shelf - be prepared to make a few swaps and/or cut portion sizes if you’re calorie counting.

Covered my blisters up and went for a 20 minute stomp about this morning. Weight set and a step arrived yesterday, just have to tidy up enough to be able to unpack and use them!

Can I join please? I've put on 1.5 stone since November and already had about 3 stone to lose to reach a healthy weight!! I'm so ashamed Blush I've had a virus for weeks now and barely moved, but managed to eat like a large horse over Christmas. I need to start to build manageable fitness goals into a daily routine while significantly changing my eating habits, so could do with some online and moral support/ideas to nick!

Peony2021 · 08/01/2021 14:42

I love this thread already!

@bluebird3 congratulations on your baby!!!! What lovely news 😍 I’m currently TTC (for around 6 months “actively” but been off pill a little longer than that) so hoping weight loss might give me a boost / keep me occupied every month 🤦🏻‍♀️

@lucy2204 hahaha you’re so right bloody Joe has put us all to shame, anyone who can do his HIIT workouts from start to finish gets a big virtual medal from me!!

@Pillowaddict hey pillow!! Ah don’t be ashamed you’re in great company here, I only joined today and already feel much better about the road ahead☺️ Sorry to hear about your virus that sounds rotten 😞 also looking for tips and tricks, so far I’ve found that a daily walk has really helped me and I’m also enjoying some online workouts (found a random website called pop sugar fitness which seems to have workouts for all abilities, I like the Nike ones as I have a small set of dumbbells I can use along with them).

I have so much “bad” food leftover from Christmas still - trying not to eat it but also have grown up thinking it’s a sin to throw out food 😫 trying to persuade my husband to eat it instead 😂 he has better willpower unfortunately!!

Delilah221 · 08/01/2021 14:43

@lucy2204 - haha that’s always the way though isn’t it, they can be a pain but wouldn’t change them for the world! 😂🙈 I would Love to go back to nursery work, I also did consider becoming a nanny but that had more cons than pros reading some of the ads lol. I wasn’t starting off on a great day I’ll admit, feeling very low, but then weighed myself and I’m down 4lb this first week! So that’s a boost of motivation I needed! (It’s only a bigger drop as I’ve stopped eating so much food compared to last week haha, still haven’t moved off the sofa this week lol!

@Pillowaddict - welcome! It’s frustrating isn’t it, but we’re all here to help each other! I’ve only been on here a few days and it’s helped me so much already!
Sorry to hear you’ve not been well, hope you’re doing better now!!

My advice would just be little changes each week, and don’t beat yourself up if you have a bad day! Try and move on from it, and start a fresh. I found dieting/constant battle with ‘good/bad’ foods so draining on my mental health.
So now I just try to take each day as it comes and take it slow! Which is difficult at times as I have around 4/5 stone to loose!! Best of luck! 🥰

Delilah221 · 08/01/2021 14:47

@Peony2021 I’m the same! I try to get my OH to eat it all too as “once it’s gone it’s gone!” 😂 cannot bare to see food thrown away but then get annoyed at myself for eating it all for the sake of it 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

Pillowaddict · 08/01/2021 15:03

Thank you! I love the idea of daily walks -we have a wee dog so there really is no excuse for me to leave all the walks to dh! I'm also a terrible one for not wanting to waste food - I really need to change my shopping habits so I don't have it around me! Still feeling knackered from being unwell, so I need that advice re not beating myself up, thanks. Plan for today is to do a shopping list for some soup making! And a walk with the kids and dog, spent this morning in bed so ready for some fresh air!

lucy2204 · 08/01/2021 15:08

@pillowaddict love the name BTW 😂🙌, your more than welcome to join us, no shame or judgement here, 🤗welcome to the group I hopefully you'll enjoy it 🙌

@peony2021 my partner was like why don't you give it another go it might be easier now, NO THANK YOU SIR, il sit this out😂

@delilah221 oh god could you imagine them expecting you to live with them tho? I'd feel so uncomfortable living in someone else's house looking after there kids, it'd be like having you own then getting fired and having to leave then behind :( maybe once you've had your own little baby you can open your own after a couple years? Like a very small one in your home? I'm sure people would prefer a smaller 'nursery' as such than a massive one full of kids especially with covid, just a thought, also to help you ladies along the way getting pregnant me and my partner really really struggled to get pregnant with our 2nd and ended up using him and her tables, il put the link incase any of yous want to try them we got pregnant with my 2nd 6 weeks after taking them had been trying for over a year also fell pregnant with my 3rd very quickly after having the 2nd so not sure if they make you over fertile will drop the link xx

@Pillowaddict - I think it’s a common thing to not want to waste food! Was brought up that way and it’s stuck! Lol. “Can’t have pudding if you don’t finish your dinner” thinking about it now that’s probably the mindset that got me here in the first place 😂😂 but honestly, the biggest thing to over come is just taking it day by day and not beating yourself up over small things, that was a huge turning point for me personally. One biscuit would end up turning into a whole pack, then a F-it mentality would kick in and I’d be shovelling in everything in sight to then weigh in and gain weight!! Where as those couple of biscuits with my tea originally, wouldn’t have had much of an impact!!! 🙄 Especially as you have been poorly too, don’t push yourself too hard at first!

@lucy2204 yea the idea of it after reading some ads just put me off, you’re basically a maid too lol. And I’m the same, I wouldn’t want to live with them. I always though if you do that, you never have a chance to enjoy spending any earnings! Lol.
That’s a really good idea, and I have thought about it so many times. But unfortunately childcare politics have gone mad, so it would be a lot of headaches with paperwork etc and you have to have legislation posters all round the house etc. But deffo thought of opening my own nursery, just need to win the lottery to start it up! 😂😂

Thanks also regarding those tablets, will give them a try if nothing happens soon! Am worried to take too many things at once at the mo lol.

Hope you’re all doing ok! 🥰

lucy2204 · 08/01/2021 15:53

@delilah221 are you taking folic acid yet? It just helps prepare everything for when u do get pregnant, and yeah I could see that being a pain, god imagine winning the lottery tho, i actually don't know anyone personally who has won well my age anyway 🤔xx

OP posts:
Delilah221 · 08/01/2021 15:56

@lucy2204 I’m taking the seven seas TTC tablets, but with all the mixed reviews I wanted to try one thing at a time. Especially with all these symptoms from coming off the pill! 🙄 but those tablets have the folic acid and vitamin D i think it is.

Haha cor we can dream can’t we?! 😂😂 I’ve never won more than a fiver if that lol xx

lucy2204 · 08/01/2021 16:05

@delilah221 ahh we did look at those but opted for the him and hers
I've won 40 on a scratch card tbh even winning all that money I'd still end up fat 😂I'd be able to order food whenever I wanted 😂🙌🙈xx

OP posts:
Delilah221 · 08/01/2021 16:16

@lucy2204 ah I see, to be honest I only grabbed these ones as they were on the shelf at the shop and on offer when I was doing a weekly shop a while back 😂😂

Haha, nice!! £40! Oh don’t same, I’ve always said I’ll have a personal chef if I ever won the lottery!! 😂🙈 just feeeed me 😂😂

Peony2021 · 08/01/2021 16:47

Congrats on the first 4lbs off @Delilah221 🥳🥳 that's a great start and I'm sure has helped with motivation!!! I've weighed today to record my weight and then will report in next Friday with any losses 😬

@lucy2204 thanks for the tips Lucy I've been taking the Hers preconception for about 6 months but might actually get husband the his - he's currently just taking normal centrum or whatever. Really hard to think that it could be my weight slowing us up, feel like I'm letting the team down a little 😞

It's Friday though ladies, and whilst I'm TRYING to ignore the crisp cupboard it's a global pandemic and it's January so I might still have to have a few 😂 xx

Peony2021 · 08/01/2021 16:49

@Pillowaddict

Thank you! I love the idea of daily walks -we have a wee dog so there really is no excuse for me to leave all the walks to dh! Ah that's a great idea for the walking and also the food plan - I find it so much easier to plan all my meals out at the start of the week! And lovely soup ☺️ I sort of go ad hoc on lunches but generally have a plan for my dinners. Doing Joe Wicks chicken pie tonight - it is glorious if you like chicken and very easy!! Not many calories either (but I cook hasselback potatoes with mine lathered in butter and herbs 🤤)
Delilah221 · 08/01/2021 16:54

@Peony2021 Thank you! As I say, it’s probably de bloating from all the wine/beer I’ve been drinking since the last lock down 😂 My gosh am I craving some wine! And normally I’d treat myself to a glass to surpress cravings! But I’m also attempting dry Jan so with that and the motivation of my -4lb, I’ll stick to it for now! And enjoy a bottle on Feb 1st 😂 best of luck for the first week!!

I know what you mean too, I also feel like my weight is playing a part it TTC so that’s why I’m really trying to focus on each day as it comes. My new focus this time round now is “as long as I don’t gain each week, I’ll be happy” too much pressure when you expect to loose 2lb one week and you’ve only lost 1lb, makes you feel so crappy but on the positive side, you’re still down 👍🏼💁🏻‍♀️

Haha love that! And following it the rule of “as it’s Friday” I’ve thrown out the home cooking and settling for a frozen pizza for dinner tonight! That’s my treat. (And also why I weighed in today and not tomorrow 😂😂)

On a serious note though - I do find that treating yourself to something you’re craving every so often of each weekend, it really does help stop the mad binges! 🙄 is it just me, or as soon as I try to eat better, I crave every single “bad” food under the sun!! 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈

Happy Friday ladies 🥳

lucy2204 · 08/01/2021 17:19

@peony2021 I was 19st when I got pregnant with my 2nd and third :( I don't think the weight matters its the whole wanting a baby that does if you get what I mean? When you want something so bad your actually now putting that pressure on your body to get what it wants it's a constant cycle, it's a block on the body to actually help itself I know it's easier said than done but try not to think about it, I find lavender helped me as its calming... But back to the diet talk how was everyone's day????xx

@delilah221 sooo sorry I didn't congratulate you on the loss!,🙈massive congratz defo deserve a treat! Xx

@Delilah221 ah you're so right!! A maintain is still a win in my eyes!! Definitely need to set realistic goals for myself! Love the frozen pizza idea that will definitely be me tomorrow night I've a margarita ready to be jazzed up in my freezer 😂 also attempting dry January but also not going to beat myself up if I cave before that (because of you know, pandemic and all that 😂).

@lucy2204 you're so right and thank you for that reminder!!! I have been trying to find a "reason" for why it's not happening or why I had my early miscarriage and I definitely have been putting too much pressure on myself because of that!!

Happy happy Friday 🥳

MooPointCowsOpinion · 08/01/2021 17:25

Hello!!
I am hoping to lose about 3 stone, I’ve been looking at a lot of Nerd fitness workouts and videos about stress eating.

I am definitely a stress eater! But I love weight training so I’m hoping to substitute eating with workouts when stressed...!

Delilah221 · 08/01/2021 17:36

@lucy2204 haha no worries! Thank you!

@Peony2021 yes it’s deffo better than a gain so keep going forward! We can do this 👍🏼 Haha I totally caved on cooking dinner so looking forward to a 10 min oven pizza jobby! Haha. Oh I dont blame you if you cave, it’s a bloody pandemic! 😂😂 but it’s such a big personal goal for me to stick to 1 month!! I’ve failed so many times before lol. And I drink wayyy to much.. even before the pandemic! 🙄🙄 (no judgements please😂)

MooPointCowsOpinion · 08/01/2021 17:39

@lucy2204
Is everyone working out today? What is everyone having for dinner any ideas
I’m doing leg day once my dinner has gone down! I bought a big weights bar to exercise at home, but I also hit the gym on Monday and did leg day then too, legs only just recovered!
We had spaghetti Bol, I’ve decided carbs are not the devil but dairy might be...!

GingerAndTheBiscuits · 08/01/2021 19:25

I signed up for Les Mills On Demand. Did a 20 minute BodyPump workout as it’s a loooong time since I did any exercise let alone weights. And then DD decided she wanted to try the kids workouts on there so we did another half an hour of dancing. I already ache!

lucy2204 · 08/01/2021 20:56

@peony2021 I'm so sorry about your early miscarriage hun 🤗🤗☹️💐I hope your okay xx

@delilah221 I'd want a chef to tbh, I feel like a chef constantly😂always bloody making food or baking 😂😂xx

@moopointcowsopinion omg I love spag bowl 😍pasta is my go to food N it just feels weird having pasta without bolognese 🤔glad your getting a work out in Ive only done two 7min work out apps today, I'm exhausted 🙈xx

@gingerandthebiscuits it feels so good once you've finished tho, but the aching is the worst 😑xx

Happy friday everyone 🎉🎊
