Tagging along! I'm the heaviest I've ever been and I feel so uncomfortable and depressed. I follow a vegetarian diet and it's usually pretty carb heavy.

I have an initial goal of 3 stone to lose. I work in an office and exercise very little. But I'm going to dust off my exercise bike and Fitbit.

Today for lunch I ate a baked potato with baked beans and cheese. For dinner this evening I had tomato soup followed by a kitkat. Also had 3 cups of peppermint tea (purely to keep warm in this freezing weather)!

WeirdWomble · 02/01/2021 00:08

Fridays are good for me. Forgot to weigh this morning so I shall do it tomorrow morning. dread to think what it will be

steph2412 · 02/01/2021 09:13

I am weighing in on Monday but just because I am waiting for my tape measure to come as I want to do all my measurements as well! I will then weigh in Fridays. I'm doing low carb and after the first 4 weeks I will add 16:8 fasting it worked for me great last time!

Soral · 02/01/2021 09:22

Morning all and hello to the new joiners.

Day 2 today!

When I woke up this morning, I felt so happy that I've actually started with the weight loss. I really need to slim down as being so lardy upsets me so much. I hate not having any clothes that fit me and generally looking crap all of the time.

Let's all be good today 😄

Sorel I am 5ft 4 too and weighed in yesterday at 12st 2lb, very nearly the same weight and am a barrel too. Perhaps we could be barrel buddies.

Last summer I was in the 10 stone something range so I’ve really let myself down but this will be the year to conquer this weight problem. I usually weigh in on Monday but I’ll change it to Friday.

Yesterday went well but the first few days always go well. I’ve got two dogs who are very active so I’m used to walking and getting 10,000 steps daily but I do no other exercise so perhaps it’s time to start!

poorpaws · 02/01/2021 09:30

Oops spelling error, sorry Soral

thecutback · 02/01/2021 09:43

I'm in

BMI 26.1

fingersdoublecrossed · 02/01/2021 10:18

Day 2 ready!
I'm still in bed after being up during the night with our dog.
I'm tempted to do a cheeky weigh in this morning to see if I've dropped any water weight.
My tracking yesterday showed nearly 400cals spent on alcohol. This is something I need to address but I'll think about that after this weekend.

Soral · 02/01/2021 10:19

@poorpaws we can be twin barrels 😂

Morning all and @Soral - thanks for the thread! I had a good day yesterday and managed to put thoughts of chocolate out of my mind.. was funny, after dinner my mind wandered over to sweets, previously I’d have had some, decided not to, and the impulse vanished... how many pounds less would I weigh if I’d not listened to that little urge all of last year Grin

Re the clothes... do you have something that’s tight now to measure progress? I have a pair of jeans I can just squeeze into now, looking forward to them being a much better fit by Feb 1

Today’s plan

  • walk & workout video
  • meals: porridge, bean soup (more of a stew, with veg in),, dinner is some nut roast left from NYE and lots of veg, snacks are fruit (apple, orange) & a few almonds

Looking forward to a restful and healthy Saturday

torthecatlady · 02/01/2021 10:55

Well I woke up this morning feeling hungry Blush I think it's psychological from starting a diet though as I'm never normally hungry in the morning.

JamieNotJames · 02/01/2021 11:06

Morning all!
Can I join?

I have a feeling I am the heaviest I've ever been as I'm yet to brave the scales!

I have been WFH since March and my daily walk to and from the train to work each day was my only bit of exercise! Together with out of control eating and gorging on snacks and biscuits I feel enormous!

We're planning as a family to get a lot more active and reduce the amount of crap food in the house. We generally eat healthy meals but portion sizes and snacks are an issue.

I used to run regularly a few years ago but my confidence to get back out there is an all time low. So, we've bought a treadmill where I'll do the couch to 5k and get myself to a reasonable level before getting out and pounding the pavements.

Today is weigh in, planning and getting rid of the last of the Christmas treats and wine.

🤞

micc · 02/01/2021 11:09

I felt so much less bloated this morning, definitely because of my run yesterday. I had one egg on one slicd of brown toast for breakfast and a naked bar. Taking my kids out for a walk shortly. On my own though so It probably wont be for long before i get fed up!

BliainNua · 02/01/2021 11:20

Morning allSmile
There's still too much Christmas crap left in this house! The choc and crisps I can avoid, others will eat them - but I felt bad for the poor Christmas pudding that would have to go in the bin if I didn't eat itBlush
Good news is I only had one glass of red wine and left DH with the enviable Job of finishing the bottle! That's the end of the alcohol in this house, dry January starts today Grin
Slept in this morning so getting up now and going for a good long (for me!) walk today.

thecutback · 02/01/2021 14:02

Well, I'm getting mauled over in AIBU!

But never mind.

I'm so determined to lose the weight. Hopefully by my birthday in April. That should be doable if I can lose 2lbs a week.

Soral · 02/01/2021 15:05

@thecutback AIBU scares me, I never go there 😂

I made myself walk the dog, I've been trying to talk myself out of it all morning but I really should be making an effort.

Just taken the Christmas tree down and got a casserole in the oven.

I'm so hungry, really missing snacking on biscuits and chocolate all day.

OP posts:
fingersdoublecrossed · 02/01/2021 15:28

@thecutback Don't stress it.
I haven't read it all but you haven't said anything wrong in my opinion.
AIBU gets some very unreasonable and unfair comments by some very angry and egocentric people.

10kaDay · 02/01/2021 17:12

@thecutback - spotted your thread in AIBU this morning, sounds like you’re better off on this board Smile. I took sertraline for a few months at university... it blew me up like a balloon so have never taken it since, it might be a big part of your gain

Re losing 2 pounds a week.. it’s a LOT if you’ve only got a couple of stone to lose. I’d expect that first 2-3 weeks and then 1.5 pounds, then a pound a week as it gets down to a stone or so to lose (I’ve done this before, can you tell?)

Anyway, if you make changes you’ll see a huge difference by April - also my 1st goal, I’m hoping to be 2st down by then (maybe 1 1/2) ... but I’ve got another 2 to get rid of after that Sad Grin

Passthebubbly · 02/01/2021 17:31

May I join in? I will be the barrel triplet also 5.5 and just weighed in at 12.2.
I have gained 3 stone in 2 years. My lowest weight has been 9 stone but that was during a bereavement i would be happy to be back at 10 stone.
I have had a rather unhealthy dependence on Prosecco which I am also going cold turkey with. Good luck everyone we can do this. Lovely to meet you all

Paythosebitchesnomind269 · 02/01/2021 17:33

I have put two stone on this year 😔

Welshgal85 · 02/01/2021 17:41

I still haven’t weighed myself, I’m afraid to! 😩 I really don’t know if it is good for me to weigh or not as I get too fixated on the number rather than how I am feeling...

We’re finishing the last of the Christmas treats this weekend so starting from Monday.

micc · 02/01/2021 17:45

@thecutback I commented on your post on aibu! Jeeze people need chill! Everyones comfortable weight is different.

Soral · 02/01/2021 17:58

Hey @Passthebubbly triplet barrel, glad that you have joined us.

@Welshgal85 it took me around two weeks to be brave enough to get myself stood on the scales. I had no choice yesterday as I needed a starting point. I cried, proper tears. I've come to terms with my weight now and it has made me more determined to sort my self out. Be brave, get yourself on those scales 😄

Been on the scales, it’s not good!

14 st 5ft 7, and aiming to get back to 12 stone. Been out for a walk, eaten well so far. Just need to hold and not fold in relation to finishing off all the Christmas treats in the cupboard.Wink

thecutback · 03/01/2021 08:22

Weighed in this morning at 10st 11 so I've lost some water weight already.

I did 16:8 yesterday, which worked well I think.

Had 1 pitta with 40g smoked cheese and a raw carrot for lunch

Mini cheddars for snack

Baked potato with butter and 50g cheddar plus carrots and cabbage for dinner

Some scampi fries for a snack.

The Christmas snacks are running out thankfully!
