The November thread - Lose 7lbs/3kg per month!

Morning all,

So sorry for the late start to the month. I had to take a load of work meetings yesterday about impending lockdown and furlough and just totally forgot to set it up!

Welcome to our monthly "lose 7lbs" thread. October lost me a bit with the purchase of new scales which are weighing me a lot heavier! I got DD to weigh on them and they are weighing her about half a stone heavier too so I'm relieved its not just me. Will take it as this months start weight and just hope that they start dropping soon!!

Link to previous thread here if anyone wants to catch up! www.mumsnet.com/Talk/weight_loss_chat/4038204-Lose-7lbs-3kg-per-month-The-October-edition-Oooh-spooky

All are welcome whether you are a newbie or a long time follower. There is a great mix of weight loss methods and diets and tons of good advice on here :) We all support each other and celebrate our achievements together!

Good luck for November!!

Hey @FatGirlShrinking yeah a little. I have quite good skin though and never got any of the stretch marks and stuff through pregnancy.

My skin has gone a little crepey on my lower tummy and inside of thighs. I'm trying a few firming creams to see if anything helps but it's probably someone I will look at properly when I get to goal weight!

Could have been worse @JessJonesJumps, it could have been a whole pack of ferrero rocher and a whole pizza instead of just half! Always look on the bright side!!

@cricketmum84 congrats on the loss, and pleased to hear you are thinking rationally about things! I would totally do the same and jump to the worst conclusion!

JessJonesJumps · 13/11/2020 16:30

@SconNotScone true Grin I actually need to stop buying pizza. DS has randomly imo stopped eating it so I'm the only one who does.
I'm going to try to squeeze in two yoga sessions tonight and see if I can make today's low blip on the scales into a permanent loss.

peanutbutterdog · 13/11/2020 18:40

Hi all, down 1lb this week to 11st 5lb. Slow going but getting there. Great to see other great losses on the thread - well done!

Howmanysleepsnow · 13/11/2020 20:38

1lb off. 1 to go (again!). I’m posting here daily to keep me accountable so I don’t get complacent and let it creep up on me, hope no one minds!

DownUdderer · 15/11/2020 09:37

I need to weigh in, in the morning, and face the scales. I've had a weekend away and I've just eaten whatever I fancied. It felt good to just say 'fuck the diet' for a couple of days! I expect I'll be up a couple of pounds and I'll try and get refocused and get rid of them again this week.

DownUdderer · 15/11/2020 21:04

Ok I'm 2lb up. That's what I'll focus on getting rid of this week.

Hows everyone else going?

Howmanysleepsnow · 15/11/2020 23:26

1lb up (again). 2lb to lose.

DownUdderer · 16/11/2020 01:49

I've done a hike today, 6km, which isn't as far as I'd normally do, but it was so hot!

I've had on plan food today and I'm happy about that.

monkeytennis97 · 16/11/2020 05:05

Yay lost final lb for 5 stone!
SW:17 stone 9lbs
CW:12 stone 9lbs
GW: 10 stone 9lbs

tiggy20 · 16/11/2020 06:02

Good morning?
Can I join you lovely lot, please?
I'm in the right headspace to try & get to a healthy weight once and for all - I've slipped into too many bad habits over the years.

SW - 12st 10lbs
Target weight for now - 11st 10lbs

DownUdderer · 16/11/2020 07:50

@tiggy20 welcome aboard!

I find the accountability of this thread useful to spur me on when I am starting to feel annoyed with weightloss! I also pick up tips and tricks and recipe ideas.

Once you lose a couple of pounds I'm sure you will feel it's a positive step in the right direction.

SconNotScone · 16/11/2020 22:44

1lb down for me this week, which is 2.5lb off for the month so far. It definitely could have been more, but I’m very much falling off the wagon at the weekends, and enjoying far too much unhealthy food.

I only want to lose another 4lb or so in total, this final bit just feels like such an effort.

DownUdderer · 17/11/2020 02:37

Yes, the final few pounds feel harder to shift than the first few? I'm really trying to be good this week.

foresttheout · 17/11/2020 13:02

Still struggling with the worlds worst scales bought new ones but they're already not working. Think I need to get some analog ones. MIL has some huge analog ones like you would find at the doctors wonder if she will mind me popping in at 6am on a Monday to weigh myself.
Have set myself a non scales goal this afternoon I have a beautiful phase eight dress bought a couple of years ago for an event which got cancelled, it still has the tags on. Tried it on and although it zips up no issue it's to tight around the hips and belly area so my goal is to have it fitting by January for a wedding I'm attending. It's a size 12 and I'm usually a 14 but it's not hugely tight so feels 100% achievable.

JessJonesJumps · 17/11/2020 15:53

Well done on all the losses!
@monkeytennis97 5 stones is incredible! Star
I'm finding it difficult to stay on track. I feel hungry all the time. I'm even dreaming about eating cake Grin I suppose I need to remember that ending Nov at Oct's start weight will represent a 4lbs loss which I'd usually be happy with.

DownUdderer · 17/11/2020 22:21

The crossing lady at the kids school said to me that I look "slim and trim", she doesn't know how much I needed to hear that this morning.

JessJonesJumps · 18/11/2020 20:53

That's lovely @DownUdderer You have done so well and it's always heartening when people notice. Star

DownUdderer · 19/11/2020 08:51

Thanks @JessJonesJumps, it certainly felt nice, that's for sure.

DownUdderer · 20/11/2020 02:37

I've done a 9.4km walk today, it was really hot and humid so that really makes it a struggle! But I'm glad I did it and feel good for it. I bought a new pair of shorts today, I'll try them on soon to see if they fit!!

How's everyone else going? I'm sure lockdown and winter weather are hard going. Chin up everyone.

FatGirlShrinking · 20/11/2020 08:18

I think I need to move and live closer to you @DownUdderer it's too cold here in the U.K. I'm 3 stone less than I was last year and really feeling the cold this year due to the reduced insulation 🤣

I need a kick up the behind, feel like my weight loss and level of effort has gone a bit flat and I really don't want to give up so I need to reboot.

DownUdderer · 20/11/2020 09:22

Isn't it funny to think you've got less insulation @FatGirlShrinking!

I think winter months are hard in the uk, especially for dieting. Also after you lose some weight it can feel harder to lose more. I think consistency is all you can strive for. And small goals that you can tick off.

FatGirlShrinking · 20/11/2020 09:49

Definitely need to focus on small goals. I only have 5lb to lose till I've shed 20% of my starting body weight. That is my current focus!

I have one of those lists from another website that shows what your weight loss equates to and according to that I've lost the equivalent of an average sized human leg or 2 car tyres. Which does explain why I was warmer last winter 😂

The November thread - Lose 7lbs/3kg per month!
DownUdderer · 20/11/2020 11:12

Two car tires! Congrats!
