Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

@momo3w absolutely Smile I've done my online shop today and planned to eat veggie meals all week! Really looking forward to vegetarian lasagne and risotto.

@BrimfulOfBaba I will change your weight on the list tomorrow Smile I've been the same this weekend too, let's not beat ourselves up though! I'll get my scales after work tomorrow so will weigh in tomorrow night and adjust the list for us all then too! I have a feeling I'm going to be about 10.8.

@PrincessConsuelaBH I might get you to change my weight back to kgs so I don’t need to convert, not that it’s hard with google but easier to work in kgs. So my starting weight was 75kg and this morning I am 73.4 so down 1.6kg. I need to make more of an effort this week to exercise but happy with the initial loss.

PurpleDaisies · 19/10/2020 06:46

I’m down 0.8kgs. Very pleased! 1.3 left to go.

swampytiggaa · 19/10/2020 08:22

2lb off 🙂 now 10 stone 🙂

dudsville · 19/10/2020 08:28

I've gained 2 lbs! Grrr. So now it's a full stone I need to lose! I'm going to re-read the thread for tips and inspiration. How annoying.

dudsville · 19/10/2020 08:29

Well done purple and swamp!!!! I hope to follow in your lighter footsteps!

dudsville · 19/10/2020 08:30

Ooh, and momo!

BrimfulOfBaba · 19/10/2020 08:40

I have gained 3lbs! So am 9st11.4. Annoying but completely understand why, so that helps. I did need that week off so I won't best myself up about - life even at my ideal weight will be full of ups and downs.

This week I'm aiming to get a 500 calorie deficit every day and absolutely no takeaways. Will not buy any unnecessary snacks when we do the weekly shop!

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 19/10/2020 08:41

Down 1Kg from 74.5 to 73.5

kwaziseyepatch · 19/10/2020 08:43

I've lost 2lbs! Now I'm 9 st 10

Very happy. Another watcher of David Attenborough and we too have vowed to become more vegetarian. I'm not a great lover of meat anyway but pleased DH is on board

Gigia · 19/10/2020 08:57

I have stayed the same but honestly haven't put enough effort in this week. Have written up a meal plan and aim to lose at least 0.5kg this week.

Gigia · 19/10/2020 08:59

Well done for all the losses and MFP reminded me this morning my total weight loss is 20.5kg so if I can do it anyone can.

Frustratedmummy79 · 19/10/2020 09:01

I'm down 2lb so now 10st 4. I'm really liking having to report my weight as it's keeping me on track. Keep going everyone!!

Gordonsgrin · 19/10/2020 09:04

Morning! Congrats to losers, and chin up to those who haven't seen the numbers they wished for on the scales, keep the trend downwards and don’t fret over a single weigh-in.
My stats for the record keeper (thanks for doing this it really helps)
Starting weight 11st 7 lbs
Current weight 10 st 5.25 Lbs
Loss this week 2.5 lbs

V pleased with this and cheered me up after a particularly difficult weekend.

PrincessConsuelaBH · 19/10/2020 09:12

Great to see so many of you have weighed in and reported back!

Well done on the losses Smile

I'll get weighed shortly (will have ate some breakfast and be fully clothed, that's my excuse for the number Grin) and will come back with the numbers. Then onwards and upwards (or shall that be downwards!) this week Grin

The new and updated last will be added tonight as I'm working today.

BrimfulOfBaba · 19/10/2020 10:16

Just gone through and read everyone's updates - echoing @Gordonsgrin, a huge congrats to those with losses this week, and for those of us who haven't seen losses, it's fine! We're in no rush and will get there :)

bellinique · 19/10/2020 10:22

I've put on half a pound Sad So I'm now 9 stone 9.5.

I know I've eaten a lot but I'm still disappointed! Well done to those of you who have had a better week and commiserations to those of you who have made me feel less alone!

dudsville · 19/10/2020 11:18

I've made a good start to the day. My breakfast was about 380 calories (fruit, nuts and yogurt) and spread out over the morning so that I didn't get massively hungry. I had a shop delivered this morning and I returned the wine. I can turn this ship around around.

swampytiggaa · 19/10/2020 11:34

Tbh my extra weight last week was due to my period... still it’s given me the kick up the arse I needed to try to shift the last half stone 🙂

swampytiggaa · 19/10/2020 11:38

I’m currently 17 hours into a 16 hour fast 😂😂 having a relaxing morning as it’s the first day of my week off 🙂 normally work 5am to 10am so lay in till 9 today 😂😂

Will walk to the shop in a minute to get bread for lunch then will eat tea before going for a run at 6pm. Hoping to do 4 miles but depends who’s in my group 🙂

Theredjellybean · 19/10/2020 20:36

I joined in this thread while in Greece on holiday.
Weighed today as first day home..
So 75.4 kg... 4lbs on over holidays which is very embarrassing..
So no alcohol tonight

Updated list here Grin I do hope I've got everyone's info correct?!

I've tagged everyone from the original list for this first week, but anyone who doesn't update the thread next Mon I will leave off for ease Smile

Happy healthy eating!

OP posts:
RainingBatsAndFrogs · 20/10/2020 08:16

Thank you, PrincessC!

I am heading steadily towards my healthy BMI, but my waist measurement is a problem. Since upping my exercise and adopting a healthier diet my bum, arms and legs have skimmed down and toned up but my jelly belly remains an issue, and in the ‘high risk’ category.

Anyone got any tips on this?

PrincessConsuelaBH · 20/10/2020 08:21

@RainingBatsAndFrogs I find the best way to lose it from my middle is cutting down on carbs (fewer portions and better choices, eg sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes). Hopefully as you continue to lose weight you will notice it goes from your mid-section Smile
