Vanity pounds to lose - any takers?

PrincessConsuelaBH · 12/10/2020 21:09

So I have approx. 15lbs to lose to get back to my comfortable weight and for my clothes to fit! Thanks to lockdown and a toddler that still doesn't sleep meaning I rely on sugar to get me through the day...

I'm aiming to break it up into 3 5lb mini goals so I don't feel like it's unmanageable before I ever start Grin

Nothing faddy, just planning to make better choices with my food, plan more, and move more too. I have some short-ish term goals that I'm hoping will be enough motivation for me to shift the weight 👶🏻

Anyone want to join? I'd be happy to keep a list going (if there's not too many of us!) to record our weights and losses if anyone would want that too.

May I join please? Need to lose about half a stone or a bit more but peri menopause isn’t helping neither is the husband feeding me chocolate every evening 😂😂

I’ll weigh tomorrow morning and take it from there 🙂

HaggisBurger · 13/10/2020 17:42

Are you going to have a weekly weighin @PrincessConsuelaBH 😊😊

kwaziseyepatch · 13/10/2020 17:46

I'd love to join too. I'm 4.5 months postpartum and I've got 9lbs left to lose. Still breastfeeding so hungry and LO has stopped sleeping so I'm really tired at the moment. Eating healthier will make me feel better and moving a bit more will make me feel a bit energetic.

goisey · 13/10/2020 17:52

Can I join?
I've got 1st 3lbs to lose I've got a small frame and need to be at the bottom of my BMi range to look good in clothes and not wobbly too much when I walk!

I doubt I'll get there before Christmas, but it would be good to lose something and maybe I won't pile on my usual 7lbs at Christmas as there's going to be less socialising.

I don't really calorie count, I've been on so many diets!
Now I just cut out the nice stuff, up my fruit & veg and go to bed hungry and that seems to work, but slowly and stops me getting into a boom or bust situation.

momo3w · 13/10/2020 19:20

Starting weight is 11stone 6.

That’s me too @Frustratedmummy79 - cleaning up the leftovers (by eating them) is often where I find myself after dinner or a few extra mouthfuls as I’m serving it!

I’ve woken up with a cold so just going to focus on eating well and drinking plenty of water

Frustratedmummy79 · 13/10/2020 20:27

I have just been contacted by test and trace so I have to self isolate for a fortnight. I generally find it easier to be good at home than at work so this might be an opportunity to make a good start (risotto aside!! )

swampytiggaa · 14/10/2020 10:22

Weighed in this morning. 10st 2lb. I’d like to get to 9st 7lb.

Back to intermittent fasting and cutting out crisps and chocolate I think 🙂 might look at upping the exercise as well.

RainingBatsAndFrogs · 14/10/2020 14:11

I'd like to join, please!

I am on a slow-but-steady target to lose another 5Kg, maybe, having lost 7.5Kg since mid-May.

I am now 74.4Kg, and am 167Cms tall (5'6"). Quite broad-boned and 'athletic' rather than willowy.

I am eating a wholesome diet, cutting out snacks, cutting down portion size, cutting out alcohol on 4 days a week, and upping my exercise.

I like to know what everyone is eating :)

Today I have had:

1 small slice of wholemeal toast with butter and marmite
1 bowl of home made carrot and lentil soup
1 small slice of wholemeal toast and butter

Will have carrots for a snack

And something sensible for dinner - maybe a chicken thigh (no skin), sweet potato wedges (minimal oil) and broccoli.

45 mins in the gym.

kwaziseyepatch · 14/10/2020 16:36

I don't want to share what I've eaten today as too embarrassing (Bachelor's pasta and sauce may have featured!).

I'm breastfeeding and it makes me ravenous but I'm trying to up the exercise, I've pushed the pram + buggy board to and from nursery today (40 min walk) and walked 30 mins with baby in the sling

BrimfulOfBaba · 14/10/2020 16:49

@kwaziseyepatch but Bachelor's pasta and sauce is so good...no shame!!

I had 3 slices of leftover pizza from last night as 'brunch' and 2 satsumas today. Dinner's going to be a tofu and veg stir fry, I think!

I ate over 2,000 calories last night but it was worth it, enjoying time with friends as I haven't seen anyone but DP for so long.

Also aiming to burn around 500 calories through exercise today - went for a long walk at lunch, and will be hopping on the cross trainer for maybe 45 mins later, followed by one of Kayla Itsines' workouts!

PurpleDaisies · 14/10/2020 16:59

I survived eight years as a student eating pasta and sauce!

Frustratedmummy79 · 14/10/2020 17:23

Ooh not had Bachelors Pasta n Sauce for years!! It was a great staple at uni. I might have to revisit those memories....

kwaziseyepatch · 14/10/2020 17:36

To be fair it was only 430 calories or something but it didn't fill me up much. I haven't had it for ages I used to add real broccoli in a bid to make it healthier Grin

PurpleDaisies · 14/10/2020 17:40

@kwaziseyepatch it was tinned sweet corn for me! Very healthy...

Today’s dinner is going to be veggie sausage ratatouille pasta. I’ve been out for lunch with a friend which was lovely but not the healthiest. I’ve walked five miles in the sunshine so that partly offsets it.

bellinique · 14/10/2020 17:42

Can I join too please! Weighed myself for the first time in ages today and was shocked to discover I've put on 11 pounds since March!

I'm rarely leaving the house and it's too easy to give into cravings at home. Hopefully this thread will hold me accountable... I'm 9 stone 9 today and aim to be 9 stone 7 this time next week!

momo3w · 14/10/2020 22:24

I’m trying to eat less bread and pasta/rice etc as I’m a bit of a carb lover 🥰 I have a total weakness since baby #3 for heavily spread peanut butter with butter on toast and it really is time to stop - I can no longer call it a craving.... it’s just a delicious habit!

Yesterday I ate:
Banana with a tbpn of ‘everything’ butter - this delicious mix of peanut, almond, hemp, chia & flax seed (really high in protein!)
Coffee with full fat milk

Hard boiled egg, small wedge of cheese, gerkins (another pregnancy craving that I haven’t given up!) and a couple of leftover chicken nibbles

Protein shake with a scoop of collagen powder

Black tea and a small piece of ginger crunch

Tuna salad for dinner
All came in under 1600 calories which is what I aim for regardless of whether I exercise or not. Exercise is just a bonus when I fit it in!
Felt good and I definitely had more even energy despite being up multiple times in the night 🥱

goisey · 15/10/2020 10:47

Start weight: 10st 3lbs
Current weight: 10st 2lbs

Every lb off counts! Grin

PrincessConsuelaBH · 15/10/2020 12:04

Welcome all!

My apologies for being so rubbish the last couple of days - I'm a mature student and had work to complete

I'm ready to be present and organised now!

@HaggisBurger I think that's what we should do - would everyone be happy with a weekly weigh-in? I can make a list of all our names, starting weights and losses if we'd all like to see everyone's progress?

Emmie12345 · 15/10/2020 12:09

Can I join please?

Start weight 9.13
Goal weight 9.4

Plan to do strict keto as have been lapsing x

Ingridla · 15/10/2020 12:23

Checking in. I have 8ish pounds to lose as I can just about get into my clothes but I have a whopper muffin top & my bust has crept up so I have gaping buttons on dresses at the top. I hate that I've become so tired & lazy recently Blush

bellinique · 15/10/2020 12:46

Yes a weekly weigh in would be good please? Currently 9 stone 9, not awful but a lot bigger than I was before lockdown!

BrimfulOfBaba · 15/10/2020 13:20

I'm up for a weekly weigh in. Currently planning to weigh myself on Monday mornings.

I had a great calorie controlled day yesterday but then ate a massive pile of Monty Bojangle truffles! They were delicious, though.

Today's food:
Brekkie: leftover garlic bread, and 100g lemon curd yoghurt (296 cals)

Lunch: vietnamese tofu noodle salad (612 cals)

Dinner will be: 90g brown rice and homemade chickpea and potato curry (589 calories) - so 1,497 cals total today.

Will be doing a 30 minute circuit that usually burns about 150 calories and 45 minutes on the cross trainer which usually burns at least 350 calories. So on track for a 500 calorie deficit today, had a couple of long walks in between meetings too.

I know my calorie intake might look high to some but this has really been working for me so far. Though the garlic bread for brekkie is definitely a one-off!

PrincessConsuelaBH · 15/10/2020 20:28

Ok great - would we all be happy with Monday being official weigh in day? Grin Monday is good for me too as I usually fall drastically off the wagon over the weekend....

OP posts:
kwaziseyepatch · 15/10/2020 20:34

Yep I normally do the start of the week.

I've had a fairly active day just running around after DC but no long long walks/proper exercise apart from cleaning up leaves and wrestling tantrumming toddlers. I've eaten reasonably well too but l

momo3w · 16/10/2020 01:19

Weekly weigh ins and Monday is fine for me, I’ll work out the time difference to it to you on the right day 🤪
